China’s military has reportedly conducted the first flight test of a new variant of one of its road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles.

The test of a new DF-31B missile was conducted Sept. 25 from a missile test range in central China, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

A Pentagon spokeswoman declined to provide details of the test.

China’s military has conducted the first flight test of a new variant of one of its road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles in a sign that Beijing is increasing its strategic strike capability against the United States.

The test of a new DF-31B missile was conducted Sept. 25 from a missile test range in central China. …

China has made clear in its state-run media that its nuclear forces are being developed for use against the United States. The Global Times reported Oct. 28 that a submarine-launched missile attack on the United States would kill between 5 million and 12 million Americans.

The new DF-31B is the latest addition to China’s rapidly growing nuclear missile arsenal that includes older silo-based missiles and five other road-mobile missiles. They include the long-range DF-31, DF-31A and DF-41 ICBMs, intermediate-range DF-26Cs, and medium-range DF-21s—a missile the Chinese have developed into a dual, nuclear-conventional weapon that includes an anti-ship variant. A DF-21 variant also is believed to be used as China’s anti-satellite missile system. …

“They have an extraordinary selection of cruise missiles, and a ballistic missile force that they developed,” Adm. China wants to be the leading power in the world. Many consider that China is going to be THE major threat to the USA, both economically and militarily. But although China is affecting the USA in both of those ways, China has its own problems and will not really become the leader of the world in the 21st century: that will be a European-based power (watch Is China THE Threat to the United States of America? and Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?).

Because of China’s growth and certain political stances, the USA is more and more convinced it needs to prepare militarily for issues that could involve China. This is contributing to the USA not seeing the real threat which is developing against it in Europe (see Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?).

Russia also wants to have more impact on the world and continues to develop its military.

For the first time, Russia, which is in the midst of a major strategic nuclear modernization, has more deployed nuclear warheads than the United States, according to the latest numbers released by the State Department.

Russia now has 1,643 warheads deployed on intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine-launched ballistic missiles and heavy bombers. The United States has 1,642, said the fact sheet released Wednesday.

The warhead count for the Russians, based the Sept. 1 report required under the 2010 New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), shows an increase of 131 warheads since the last declaration on March 1. The U.S. reported a warhead increase of 57 during the same period. It is not clear why the warhead numbers increased. …

Mark Schneider, a former Pentagon strategic weapons specialist, said the latest fact sheet confirms Russian officials’ promises during New START ratification to increase their deployed nuclear arsenal.

“While so little information is released under New START that there is no way to say for sure, the Russian increases appears to reflect the arming of the two new Borey class ballistic missile submarines,” Mr. Schneider said.

“All U.S. numbers have declined since New START entry into force,” he added. “The fact that this is happening reflects the ineffectiveness of the Obama administration’s approach to New START.”

Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, ranking Republican on the Senate Committee on Armed Services, called for a new U.S. policy aimed at halting Moscow’s nuclear arms buildup.

“Not only did Russia violate the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, signed by President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1987, it did so while negotiating with the Obama administration over New START, a 2010 arms reduction treaty,” Mr. Inhofe stated in a recent op-ed in Foreign Policy. “The White House was at best nave to Russian duplicity; at worst it was complicit.”

So, Russia now has one more admitted nuclear warhead than the USA. However, the USA has a major technological edge that Russia still is not close to overcoming–but Russia would like to.

Now, it is true that the Bible does tell of the rise of a confederation of ‘kings of the east” (Revelation 16:12), which would include Russia and China. But the prophecies relate to this happen AFTER the USA is eliminated. Daniel 11:39 shows the elimination of the USA by a European power, while Daniel 11:44 tells of the later threat “from the east and the north” that will affect the same European power.

The powers from the north and east in Daniel 11:44 include China and Russia. Japan, Korea, India, and others are also expected to support a Russian-led power according to Jeremiah 50:41-43.

We are in the process of seeing two major Gentile military alliances building up. One, a Eurasian power, that will ultimately include more than Russia and China (cf. Jeremiah 50:41-43). The other, a European power (Revelation 13:1-4) that is destined to takeover the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39).

Because of the fact that USA political and and military leaders do not rely on Bible prophecy, they will take more steps to prepare for war with China and/or Russia, while mainly ignoring the threat that is arising in Europe. Instead of seeing the threat in Europe, partially because of its own debt and partially because of China and Russia, the USA has encouraged Europe to increase its military spending (watch Is the USA Pushing Germany to Start WWIII?).

While the USA is concerned about Chinese and Russian military spending and weaponry, it is European military technology (Revelation 13:4) which will prove to be the real military threat to the USA itself.
