Chinese President Xi Jinping has described Russia’s Vladimir Putin as his “best friend” during a three-day visit to Moscow focusing on trade and relations between the two countries.
The visit comes as China-US relations have soured over a bitter trade war.
Russia had decided on a pivot to the east years ago after ties worsened with the West over the Ukraine conflict. …
“In the past six years, we have met nearly 30 times. Russia is the country that I have visited the most times, and President Putin is my best friend and colleague,” Mr Xi said.
Mr Putin echoed the praise saying he was “pleased to say that Russian-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedented level. It is a global partnership and strategic cooperation.” …

The pushing of the Russians and Chinese closer together has been an “unintended consequence” of the policies from the Trump Administration.
Yesterday, TASS reported that Russia and China had a plan to bypass the US dollar in their cross-border trade (see ‘Russia, China Prepare To Dump Dollar, Agree To Bilateral Trade In National Currencies’).
Today, US President Trump made another tariff threat against China:

SHANNON, Ireland/BEIJING (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to hit China with tariffs on “at least” another $300 billion worth of Chinese goods …
“Our talks with China, a lot of interesting things are happening. We’ll see what happens… I could go up another at least $300 billion and I’ll do that at the right time,” Trump told reporters, without specifying which goods could be impacted.
“But I think China wants to make a deal and I think Mexico wants to make a deal badly,” said Trump before boarding Air Force One at the Irish airport of Shannon on his way to France for D-Day commemorations.
In Beijing, China’s Commerce Ministry struck a defiant tone.
“If the United States wilfully decides to escalate tensions, we’ll fight to the end,” ministry spokesman Gao Feng told a regular news briefing.
“China does not want to fight a trade war, but also is not afraid of one. And China is taking steps.
But of course, everything that China has been doing is NOT directly related to the Trump Administration.
China has long had plans for expansion.
For one example, the Chinese Belt & Road Initiative (BRI, also known as the ‘Silk Road Project’) has long been intended to give China more trade and influence throughout Asia, as well as with Europe and Africa. The initiative was unveiled by Xi Jinping in September and October 2013 during visits to Kazakhstan and Indonesia. Thus, the idea for this well preceded the Trump Administration.
And, as regular readers of this page are aware, it is my view that this BRI project will result in putting infrastructure in place that some will use related to the prophesied gathering at Armageddon.
Notice that the Bible tells of a time when the ‘kings of the sunrise/east’ will travel on land and will end up in Armageddon:
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12-16)
The ‘kings of the east’ are to come across the Euphrates river, which will at least partially dry up according to prophecy. The new “Silk Road” is expected to head near the river Euphrates. And while I have not seen anything that shows that the Belt and Road Initiative is specifically planned to go all the way to Tel Megiddo (Armageddon), there are a couple of highways in the area of Armageddon already that I have personally seen. So, it would seem that the proposed Silk Road project will help build a major road from the far east through central Asia and into the Middle East that can be used to at least get close to Armageddon, and then there are other roads that connect to it.
Russia and China are clearly among the “kings of the east.” You really cannot get “east” of Russia and its ‘east-ness’ extends all the way into ‘the west.’
The “kings of the east” will have to somehow cooperate for this to happen. And we are seeing two of the biggest “kings of the east”–Russia with the most land and China with the most people–increase their cooperation.

Over 60 nations, including Russia, are involved with this. Could this Silk Road project possibly produce thoroughfares that could be used by troops that will amass at Armageddon? We could well see the gathering at Armageddon by then AND have the Chinese ‘roads’ (some are actually shipping ports) used to transport soldiers and military equipment to gather at Armageddon.
Now, it is true that the Silk Road project increases China’s economic and political influence, but the reality of physics is that most roads go both ways. And that certainly will be the case for those involved in this project.
This project will give Russia and Europe greater access to markets in Asia. And to Europe and Africa.
While many news sources were claiming that Europe was opposed to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) saw it differently. And we put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

The Bible clearly teaches that the European ‘Babylon the Great’ will be a trading power that will enrich, for a time, the merchants of the world (Revelation 18).
Donald Trump’s statements have also pushed Europe more towards China on certain matters, including trade.
The Chinese project is connecting Europe more to Asia as well as connecting Europe more to Africa.
The BRI, despite problems it will encounter, will help increase trade between Europe and Asia and Africa.
Europe, Russia, and China are more and more upset with US trading policies and the timing of the BRI from China is getting various nations to directly and indirectly support it.
A shift toward Eurasia and the final time of the Gentiles was prophesied in the Bible and we are seeing political, economic, and infrastructure events moving towards it.
We are getting closer to the end of Anglo-American dominance as well as Armageddon.
Steps continue to be taken that are leading to it.
