Chinese demonstrate hypersonic missile technology–USA watching, but…

China has demonstrated it is developing hypersonic missile technology that would allow it to defeat certain missile defense systems:

China has conducted an experimental flight of a hypersonic missile delivery vehicle designed to travel several times faster than the speed of sound.

Beijing’s Defense Ministry did not comment on the outcome of the test, which it called scientific in nature and not targeted at any particular country.

The Pentagon confirmed, but would not comment on, the Chinese test, which comes as some in the U.S. worry about China’s rapid military growth.

If perfected, hypersonic technology could allow countries to strike targets anywhere in the world within minutes, bypassing missile defense systems…

Admiral Samuel Locklear, the head of U.S. Pacific Command, said Wednesday that he was not particularly concerned about the Chinese test, but also acknowledged it is indicative of China’s ability to develop new technologies.

China has steadily increased its military expenditures as its economy expanded in recent decades, though it remains far outpaced by the United States in defense spending.

Brad Glosserman of the Hawaii-based Pacific Forum told VOA he views the Chinese test as a reaction to U.S. defense capabilities viewed by Beijing as a threat.

“They’re hedging against America making great strides that might undermine Chinese security. I think what the Chinese are basically saying is, ‘You cannot outpace us,'” said Glosserman.

Other analysts have pointed out that the move is reflective of China’s desire to expand its influence around the globe; such a weapon would not likely be needed in a defense of its own territory. http://www.voanews.com/content/china-confirms-hypersonic-missile-delivery-test/1831194.html

China is attempting to move forward with its military technology. And there should be no doubt that China hopes to develop a powerful military. It perhaps should be noted that although the USA currently spends a lot more dollars on its military, the USA bureaucracy, higher wages, and often socio-political objectives for USA military spending does not mean that it is as cost-effective as Chinese spending.

Furthermore, the Chinese have reported that they believe that they have surpassed the USA as the number one trading nation in the world (see China believes it has surpassed the USA to become the world’s largest trading nation; and if financial services are excluded, I believe that they are right), this suggests that China will be able to devote more and more resources (for a time at least) to military matters, while the USA struggles because of budget battles and deficits.

However, just because they want to do this, does not mean that China will be successful, at least not yet. But what is happening is that the USA itself is so concerned that it has declared that it will shift military spending towards issues related to Asia (see USA’s Biden rejects China’ fly zone requirements and confirms plan for more focus on Asia-Pacific) and away from the level of support it has had in Europe. This will force the Europeans to develop more of their own military technology, much to the destruction of the USA.

USA military experts have already stated that the USA is losing (if it has not already lost it) its ability to fight multiple front wars against serious enemies. This means that the USA has concluded that it needs to better guess where its major military threat will come from, and prepare accordingly.

If USA leaders understood biblical prophecy, then they we prepare for a war against Europe (cf. Daniel 11:39). But because they really do not, they are more and more concluding that they must prepare for war/containment of China, and instead trust the Europeans too much.

This will not end well for the USA as Europe will defeat it. Europe is also working on hypersonic missile development and even gets assistance from the USA to do so.

For those that do not believe that this is possible because the USA has the strongest military in the world, carefully consider that the Bible shows that the King of the North will destroy those who are perceived to have the strongest military might and apparently divide up their land:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39).

The strongest fortresses in the world belong to the USA and to a much lessor extent, its English-speaking allies (for a more detailed explanation of why the USA and its Anglo-allies are involved, as well as the dividing of their lands, please see Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel). Daniel 11:24 seems to parallel this as it teaches that the King of the North has plans against the strongholds and succeeds against the prosperous. Catholic translations of Daniel seem to miss this, but other translations support this idea:

39 He shall deal with the strongest fortresses with the help of a foreign god. Those who acknowledge him he shall load with honor. He shall make them rulers over many and shall divide the land for a price. (ESV)

39 He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.. (NASB)

39 Claiming this foreign god’s help, he will attack the strongest fortresses. He will honor those who submit to him, appointing them to positions of authority and dividing the land among them as their reward. (NLT)

39 He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price. (NIV)

39 He’ll take action against the strongest fortresses. With the help of a foreign god, he’ll recognize those who honor him, making them rule over many, and he’ll parcel out the land for a profit. (ISB of 2012)

Isaiah warns that “The fortress also will cease from Ephraim” (Isaiah 17:3)–but unlike Manasseh (USA), Ephraim (UK, etc.) simply does not have the strongest fortresses.

This passage about the “strongest fortresses” in Daniel 11:39 cannot be referring to the continental Europeans as they support the King of the North, nor can it be referring to the Russians, Chinese, or other Asians as they do not get involved until verse 44 (see also The Eurasian Union, the Kings of the East, and Bible Prophecy).

Instead of completely strengthening the U.S. Global Positioning System (GPS), Barack Obama’s Administration instead decided to rely on Europe’s upcoming Galileo “GPS” for part of the U.S.A.’s military defense. This would appear to give the rising European power a unique offensive and defensive capability against the U.S.A. (cf. Daniel 11:39; Revelation 13:3-4). It is dangerous to have a potential enemy control portions of one’s military communications systems.

Instead of increasing the U.S.A.’s role in particle collider technology, similar to some previous administrations, Barack Obama’s Administration has greatly weakened that. So much so, there is only one remaining U.S. particle accelerator and it is at risk of being gutted or shut down. This is an area where Europe has clearly gained the lead over the U.S.A. since Barack Obama became president…

Notice what the Bible says…:

3…And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3-4, NKJV)

Notice that the military power of the Beast was something that the world will marvel, be astonished about. Why? Because no one really thought that the European Beast power had the military ability to defeat the U.S.A. with its Anglo-allies (Daniel 11:39), and then the Islamic King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43). Revelation 13:3-4 also supports the idea that the Beast may rise up because of violent civil unrest in Europe.

Technology may be key to a powerful European military. One aspect could include particle collider research. The number of colliders in the U.S.A. has dwindled down to one under the Obama and Bush Administrations, and the remaining one is facing budget cuts and possible closure. Yet, in Europe, it now has the leading one in the world, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and in 2012, Germany announced that it is planning a possibly even more advanced one called FAIR (FAIR stands for the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research).

I believe that Germany’s FAIR, along with the LHC and other technology, will help the Europeans produce military weaponry to fulfill certain end time prophecies. Since Revelation 13:4 is discussing what seems to be a unique type of warfare, this warfare likely includes certain high-tech weapons (electromagnetic pulse, neutron, unique delivery systems, etc.) that will be effective for a while (ultimately the Europeans will be overcome by what appears to be a Russian-led, mainly Asian, confederation, cf. Jeremiah 50:41-43 & Daniel 11:44, possibly by exploiting some technological flaw, like creating a software virus, etc., while also amassing troops, etc.). The FAIR and the LHC projects are also likely to spin-off economic benefits that may help propel Europe to be (for a short while) the economic leader of the world (cf. Revelation 18).

While the U.S.A., Australia, and others are currently worried mostly about China, the European developments will not be good for the Anglo-descended lands, including England…

2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect warned that there would likely be gaps in the U.S. G.P.S. system and this may require the U.S. military to rely on the upcoming European Galileo system (essentially an upgraded and European developed version of G.P.S) to meet that gap (Chapter 5, pp. 84-85).

The U.S. Air Force itself disputed the idea of gaps in military satellite communications (Air Force Official Disputes GAO Report on Projected GPS Failure. Satellite Today, May 26, 2009), when that portion of the book was written.

But, on November 10, 2009, Aviation Week reported that the leader of U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Gen. Kevin Chilton, “says so few satellites are in queue now for launch for critical missions–such as weather observation satcom or ballistic missile warning–that there is a risk of service gaps that could impede the military’s ability to do its job” (Butler A. U.S. Satellite Coverage Gaps Loom. Aviation Week, November 10, 2009).

Furthermore, because of concerns about China, Reuters reported on February 4, 2010, “The U.S. Defense Department is linking its Global Positioning System with Europe’s Galileo, another space-based global navigation satellite system. GPS will feature a new military signal called M-code to boost anti-jamming, facilitate secure access and increase the local signal strength.” (Wolf J. US, wary of China, mulls satellite substitutes. Reuters, February 4, 2010). This linking will essentially guarantee that the U.S.A. will have a portion of their military response ability controlled by the Europeans.

Galileo initially had critics as there were “early objections from the Americans who thought a rival system to GPS might be used to attack its armed forces” (Amos J. EU awards Galileo satellite-navigation contracts. BBC, Jan 7, 2010). But this warning has been discounted to the peril of the United States.

The “brain” of the Galileo satellite system was shipped to Rome on April 26, 2010 (First EU Navigation Satellite Payload Shipped. Red Orbit, 26 April 2010).

The Wall Street Journal reported on June 28, 2010 that the Obama Administration hopes to persuade the American people that having to rely on Europe’s Galileo “to augment” for part of our GPS needs is in the interest of global cooperation (Pasztor A. New Space Calls for Global Cooperation. Wall Street Journal, June 28, 2010). This became official on July 30, 2010 (U.S. and the EU to collaborate on usage of Global Navigation Satellite Systems. BNO News, July 31, 2010).

The USA has even agreed to let Germany in on a new secret spy satellite program (US and Germany in joint spy satellite project: cable. AFP – Jan 3, 2011). Galileo satellites are expected to be launched in 2011 (European Space Agency predicts European space revolution. Defence Web, January 18, 2011).

The problems with GPS combined with Galileo, revealing spy satellite technology, and the fact that the first non-American, French General Stéphane Abrial became the “Commander of the Allied Command Transformation” of NATO in Europe in September, 2009 (French General Takes Over Key NATO Command In U.S. RTT News, September 10, 2009) means that the Europeans will have much more control over the military over the USA than most have imagined.

Europe is working on upgrading its military technologies right now. This combined with USA commitments to share more intelligence with Europe and the USA’s commitment to rely on Europe’s upcoming Galileo system for part of its military communications is putting Europe in a position in which it eventually will be able to defeat the USA.

But what about China?

The Bible tells of a time when armies from the East will gather:

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon (Revelation 16:12-16).

While there are many peoples who live east of the river Euphrates, the Greek expression translated as “kings of the east,” literally means “kings of the sunrise.” This indicates that these are people in the far east, or at least relatively far east from the river Euphrates. China, India, and other lands are far east of that river. But this is a prophecy is for a time years AFTER the Great Tribulation begins and the USA has been taken over.

Yet, because the government of the USA has discounted biblical prophecy, it seems to think that China (along with Russia) is the biggest threat militarily and is taking steps towards China that will get it to not realize the real threat that it faces. China’s latest missile launch will likely continue to get more leaders in the USA to fear China and embrace Europe–to their peril (cf. Isaiah 3:12; 9:16).
