As expected, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie declared his official desire for the office of US President today:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is polling terribly in his home state. In the jam-packed 2016 Republican presidential field, he’s only pulling single digits. The scandal known as Bridgegate, which sprayed his entire administration with the stench of scandal, isn’t going away. And the loud buzz surrounding Christie running for president in the last election cycle? It’s nearly silent this time around.

CHRISTIE MAKES IT OFFICIAL: Today, Gov. Chris Christie will formally declare his candidacy for president of the United States at his alma mater, Livingston High School in New Jersey, becoming the 14th Republican candidate to enter the 2016 presidential race, ABC’s ADAM DESIDERIO notes. As far as ‘telling it like it is,” he simply does not hold certain biblically moral positions, and perhaps he hopes for a chance to win the chance to be in a Cabinet or be appointed vice president. He claims to be blunt and that may endear him to some voters, but not to others.

The “New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act” was enacted in January 2010. As of 2013 New Jersey is one of 20 states where medical marijuana is available. In August 2013 Christie signed a bill to ease restrictions for children in the program…

He could split some of the vote that would be expected to go towards Jeb Bush.

Anyway, like others who have already announced their candidacies, Chris Christie is a politician who seems to believe he knows what the USA needs.

Well, it needs national repentance, which is not something I expect him to meaningfully call for. His Roman Catholicism has possible prophetic ramifications. He, for example, may be more inclined to trust the Europeans on certain matters if the Vatican endorses something or wants him to.

But, of course, he needs to get elected first and Hillary Clinton is considered to be a formidable candidate.
