CNN: 2022 could be a make-or-break year for Europe

As the above tweet shows, yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the European currency called the euro. Physical euro coins and banknotes entered into circulation on 1 January 2002, making it the day-to-day operating currency of its original members, and by March 2002 it had completely replaced the former currencies.

Over 30 years prior to that, the old Worldwide Church of God published the following:

Momentous, historic events are transforming Western Europe. … A new Western Europe controlling perhaps half of all world trade, by exclusive arrangements with dozens of nations who produce raw materials. A “United States of Europe” possessing one single currency – a currency so strong that it will replace the U. S. dollar as the kingpin currency of world trade. (Hogberg G. EUROPE’S COMMON MARKET RISING WORLD COLOSSUS. Plain Truth, April 1971)

So, yes, something like the euro was long expected by the Church of God.

And yes, the USA dollar is in the process of being nudged aside–and ultimately replaced.

This morning, a reader sent me a link to an article (see https://www.rt.com/business/544825-dump-dollar-gold/) that shows that the US dollar is becoming less of the world’s primary reserve currency. Though the article did not mention it, the other contender for the world’s primary reserve currency at this time is the euro.

Europe has been taking steps, however it does not have the type of global influence it wants, yet.

And, by the way, Europe also wants dominance over crytpo and digital currencies. We just uploaded the following video related to that:

Will Bitcoin remain unregulated? The European Union does not think it should be and it released a paper titled “Proposal for EU Regulation on Markets in Crypto-Assets.” Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, earlier endorsed EU regulation of crypto and digital currencies. A Belgian declared that the EU was the “new Sheriff in town” to deal with the “wild west” of Bitcoin, blockchain, and other cryptocurrencies. The European Union now also has the European Public Prosecutor’s Office in operation, mainly to deal with financial matters? Will the Europeans end up controlling buying and selling associated with 666 in Revelation 13:16-18? Is Europe taking preliminary steps to do so now? Dr. Thiel address these issues.

Many want to see a stronger federal EU. A reader sent me a link to the following today:

The German government is to support France in the goal of making the European Union “more sovereign”, according to the country’s new foreign minister.

Annalena Baerbock, the foreign minister of Germany’s new left-led coalition government, has pledged that her country will support France in making “a more sovereign Europe” — that is, one with more power over its member-states’ national governments. https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2022/01/01/german-government-to-support-france-in-making-european-union-more-sovereign/

But Europe still faces issues.

On Russian aggression and other military issues, the EU has proposed rapid deployment units tailored to specific missions, reducing the reliance on NATO and the US to protect the continent.

On China, Brussels is trying to counter Beijing’s giant global infrastructure initiative by offering alternative investment options.  …

The Trump years made Europe acutely aware that it could not afford to rely wholly on America as an ally.

Most European officials agree that the challenges facing the EU need to be addressed, but the reality of trying to achieve a common foreign policy has been uniquely difficult for a bloc of 27 countries with different domestic priorities.

“While the EU makes most of its big decisions on a super-majority basis, member states have always been very reluctant to surrender their veto power over foreign policy,” said R. Daniel Kelemen, Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Politics at Rutgers University. …

So, it is widely understood that the European Union needs to somehow change its structure in order to go forward and become the global leader that it wishes to.

Will that happen?

Yes.

Europe will finally reorganize and gain global leadership.

But not in 2022.

Here is some of what the Bible teaches will happen in Europe:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.  (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV throughout unless otherwise specified)

These ten kings have no kingdom, but are to attain one. Thus, this is a type of reorganization in verse 12–perhaps this will be dividing Europe into regions as opposed to simply existing nations. But ten is still a bit slow for managing, and hence we see a single leader gaining all the power. Since they give their power to the Beast in verse 13, this is a second reorganization.

It is very likely that it will take a series of crises (financial, migrant, religion, and pestilence) for those reorganizations to happen.

But they will come to pass.

Europe does have global ambitions, the Bible shows it will attain some of them (see the 17th and 18th chapters of the Book of Revelation), but the Bible also shows it will not last.

The coming European superpower will be replaced by the return of Jesus and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
