The 10 leading U.S. Democratic presidential candidates squared off in a spirited debate Thursday night, trading political jabs with each other on an array of issues, but also assailing the man they want to oust from the White House in the 2020 election, Republican President Donald Trump.
California Senator Kamala Harris accused Trump of engaging in “hate, intimidation and fear” and telling 12,000 lies during his 2½-year presidency. …
Former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke said a gunman in his hometown of El Paso, Texas, who targeted Mexicans, killing 22 people in early August, was “inspired to kill by our president” because of his campaign against migrants trying to enter the country through the southern border with Mexico.
Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota said Trump “would rather lie than lead.”
The three poll-leading Democratic candidates — former Vice President Joe Biden and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders — all took shots at Trump.
Biden, former President Barack Obama’s two-term vice president, said he refuses to postpone the effort to cure cancer and Alzheimer’s disease and improve education.
“There’s enormous opportunity once we get rid of Donald Trump,” he said.

Senators Amy Klobuchar and Kamala Harris. Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren did just fine, but likely won’t gain any ground from their performance. Same goes for South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg. …
The beneficiaries of the debate this time around: Vice President Joe Biden, entrepreneur Andrew Yang and former El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke. The trio only won by default; there were no huge, stand out moments. …
Overall, it appears that these debates helped us clarify policy positions and get to know the Democratic candidates a bit more, but won’t do much to change the polls. While I basically agree with Bernie Sanders that Donald Trump is dangerous (but am not sure he is the MOST dangerous yet), whoever wins in 2020 will be dangerous–and not less so.
For one example, notice a complaint tweeted from Kamala Harris:

So, Kamala Harris is complaining that no one asked the Democratic candidates (all of whom that were on that stage are pro-abortion) about their views of supporting abortion. And that upset Kamala Harris.
Abortion is a sin, but apparently Kamala Harris is upset that she did not have an opportunity to publicly support killing of innocent babies during that debate. Anyway, none of what I watched, heard, or read related to that Democratic debate suggested to me that any of the candidates understood the fundamental problems facing the USA. And of course, none called for repentance nor turning to biblical morality.
What is happening is a ‘recipe for disaster’ for the US no matter who wins (Republican or Democrat) in 2020.
The reality is that the US is in the process of bankrupting itself economically and morally. It is basically already there, but it looks like many want to accelerate the fall of the US, and the Democratic candidates were proposing economic plans which look to do that.
Let me also mention that the federal debt has increased under Republican Donald Trump–he did not reverse the trend like he promised he would.
Of course, by virtue of the timing, whoever is elected in 2020, Democrat or Republican, will be apocalyptic.
Within a decade or so, the US will be taken over (cf. Daniel 11:39) and debt and sin will be factors (Habakkuk 2:6-8) (see USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses and Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?).

Various politicians have announced their intentions to run for the office of the President of the United States in 2020. ‘Politico’ ran an article about the ‘sorry state’ of various candidates. Some candidates have felt the need to apologize for previous statements in support of biblical marriage and the need to endorse items of the LGBTQ agenda. Many also support abortion and other anti-biblical actions. Are these ‘American values’? Should the English language be changed to eliminate male/female and singular pronouns? Does the Bible warn about female leaders? Does the Bible warn about leaders that lead people to err? What about condoning sexual immortality? Do the presidential contenders fit prophecies warned about in 2 Timothy 3:1-5? These are some of the subjects that Dr. Thiel addresses.

Pray for the Kingdom of God to come (Matthew 6:10). Also pray as Jesus taught:
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)
We can expect troubles and tribulation before Jesus returns (Mark 13:8-20).
And that will happen no matter which party wins the 2020 US Presidential election.
