COGwriter and Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg refer to Donald Trump as a bully, and both see him as a motivator for Europe to arm

Yesterday, while finalizing a new book I have been working on related to prophecy and Donald Trump, I added the following statement:
Donald Trump’s foreign policy statements have unsettled many—in the USA as well as foreign nations. He is believed by many to be more unpredictable than Richard Nixon. Many have rightly pointed out that he often acts as a bully.
Today, PCG posted the following:
Guttenberg Calls for Militarily United Europe Against ‘Bully Trump’
January 16, 2025
Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, Germany’s former minister of economics and defense, called for a united, militarily strong Europe to face United States President Donald Trump’s second term. A European army is already in the works, and the Trumpet believes Guttenberg could command it in the future.
In his speech at the Oberbank Business Gala in Linz, Austria, on January 8, Guttenberg stated: “As a European group, as nato, together with the Canadians, we can position ourselves much more strongly against the bully Trump.” Guttenberg warned that nato will likely radically transform during Trump’s presidency, which will force Europe to become militarily independent.
As Austria’s meinbezirk.at summarized in “United Against the ‘Bully Trump,’” Guttenberg urged Europeans not to let down on their military ambitions in case Trump negotiates a temporary peace between Russia and Ukraine. He said it would be wrong to say, “Now we have peace and quiet and can get back to pensions and care instead of spending 3.5 percent or more on Europe’s defense capability.” https://www.thetrumpet.com/30807-guttenberg-calls-for-militarily-united-europe-against-bully-trump
Now, here is a machine-language translation from an event in Austria (https://www.oberbank.at/business-gala-2025) called Business Gala 2025:
Develop more risk-taking and willingness to act
In his speech, Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg, Germany’s former Minister of Economics and Defense, referred to the potential that we hardly take the time to become aware of. For him, negative facts are a call to finally act. He sees the danger that Germany could be crushed in a conflict between the superpowers USA and Russia. Trump’s disturbing current statements should not primarily irritate us, but rather be seen as a signal to “get Europe’s backside up in the air”. The populists here, in turn, should be aware that problems such as over-regulation cannot be solved by individual nations alone; instead, they should promote Europe’s bridging function. He also urged them to treat their political opponents as human beings, despite all the rivalry, and to use a more respectful tone.
Guttenberg also rejected the prevailing culture of avoidance. When someone drives an idea into the ground, he senses malicious glee in others. In the long run, this reaction results in a lack of courage. In contrast, in the USA even lending banks classify a failed project as an important experience on the road to success.
However, the current EU advisor believes that “the train has not left the station”. We are primarily lacking self-confidence, which we need to rebuild. With 500 million EU citizens, he sees a network of countless forces, with smaller countries like Denmark also serving as a model for the larger ones. Guttenberg concluded his speech with the saying: “When you’re up to your neck in water, it’s not advisable to hang your head.”
In my upcoming book, titled Unintended Consequences and Donald Trump’s Presidency, I also have the following:
Many Europeans Do Not Like Donald Trump
Because of some of Donald Trump’s statements, back in late 2015, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, former German Defense Minister, called Donald Trump “that blonde lunatic named Donald.”[i] And even though he did not like Donald Trump’s reelection in 2024, he said it was good news in that it was a final wake up call for Europe to improve its own security and take other steps to protect itself because of his policies and possible actions.[ii] …
Now, another reality is that there are many in Europe that wanted Donald Trump to win the 2024 election as they believe that will help motivate Europe to arm itself and become more independent of the USA[iii] …
The Europeans will need to be stronger militarily, as well as use deceit, to begin their attack. They are working on a variety of military projects, partially motivated by the fact that Donald Trump was elected in 2016 and reelected in 2024.
While everything is certainly not Donald Trump’s fault, he is, inadvertently, leading the USA towards the apocalypse.

Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg sees Donald Trump as a bully as well as a motivator for Europe to arm.
In November 2024, a reader sent me the following link: https://www.focus.de/politik/ausland/usa/letzter-weckruf-zu-guttenberg-nach-ampel-knall-haelt-trump-deutschland-fuer-ein-leichtes-opfer_id_260465038.html, which is in the German language. I machine-translated it and where are some excerpts:
Zu Guttenberg: After traffic light bang, Trump considers Germany an easy victim
The election in the USA has a clear winner: Donald Trump. One is rightly shocked that someone with such a character could hold one of the highest offices in the world, said former Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg in an interview with FOCUS online.
But Trump’s re-election is also a final “wake-up call” for the democratic states to tackle the homework that they had sometimes left to the USA in certain areas.
“We will be treated more harshly. We will no longer be able to rest on our laurels when it comes to security, but will have to take care of it ourselves,” says zu Guttenberg. It would have been similar if Harris had won. The fact that Germany now has to “come out of complacency” is “actually good news.” …
According to zu Guttenberg, the designated US president has “two obsessions”. Firstly, punitive tariffs on imports, and secondly, Trump wants to go down in history as a peace president. …
The former minister is also convinced that Trump is keeping a close eye on the collapse of the traffic light coalition. An unstable Germany could be a godsend for him.
“The more we fly apart, the more divided we are within our country, the more his interest is aroused to the point where he says: Okay, they are an easy target for the things I have in mind.”
Essentially Herr Guttenberg, like some others in Europe, sees the reelection of Donald Trump as a wake-up call for Germany and the rest of Europe to arm. Arming is what he meant by, “We will no longer be able to rest on our laurels when it comes to security.”
He also is warning that if Germany does not take quick and bold steps, that Donald Trump will hurt Germany with tariffs, etc.
Other Germans in Europe, such as European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, have voiced the view that the reelection of Donald Trump necessitates that Europe unite more in order to be able to deal with the USA (e.g. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/nov/07/european-leaders-struggle-for-show-of-unity-in-wake-of-trump-victory).
As regular readers of this page are aware, I have had my eye on one-time, German Defense Minister Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg since late 2009 as one who could possibly fulfill the role of the final King of the North.
Related to him and the Middle East, in 2022 the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
The Middle East, Prophecy, and Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg
Iran and Israel have been involved with various attacks and threats against each other. Does the Bible seem to prophesy that Iran and Syria will attack Israel? Will God always protect Israel? Will Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ protect it? Is “great damage” prophesied to come to Jerusalem? What about damage to Syria’s capital Damascus? What was Isaiah inspired to write? Could a peace deal come after a regional conflict in the Middle East? Could Baron Karl-Theodor Maria Nikolaus Johann Jacob Philipp Franz Joseph Sylvester Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg (KT) be the “prince” of Daniel 9:26-27, who becomes the King of the North of Daniel 11? Was KT spurned, rejected, and passed over for advancement consistent with one rendering of Daniel 11:21? Does KT have the ancestral and religious background to be the “Great Monarch” of Greco-Roman Catholic prophecies? Does KT have the digital background to be able to be involved in the 666 controlling of buying and selling (Revelation 13:16-18)? Should you be watching the Middle East and Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg? Dr. Thiel answers these questions and more.

Back in 2016, the Continuing Church of God is put out the following sermon about him on its ContinuingCOG channel:
Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg and Europe’s Future
Former German Economic & Technology Minister as well as former Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg spoke at the Hub Conference in Berlin and gave a presentation titled “Wish List or Reality? Digital Trends in 2016.” Dr. Thiel shows portions of the presentation and comments on his presentation related to Bible prophecy and Baron Guttenberg’s background. What is the future for Europe?

Related to Donald Trump and some of the international reactions and ramifications, we just uploaded the following video:
Donald Trump – Now What?
Donald Trump won the election again. Will he fix everything wrong in America and bring in a golden age as he claims? Why or why not? What are concerns from the international community? Will Russia end up with territory that was once part of Ukraine? Might we see a regional war involving Iran? What about the peace deal of Daniel 9:26-27? Can the Great Tribulation begin in the next US presidential term? What are some of the 20+ predictions Dr. Thiel made before Donald Trump’s last presidential term that have been confirmed? Will US debt be a problem in the future per Habakkuk 2:6-9? What are some of the unintended consequences of a Donald Trump presidency? What about Europe? Dr. Thiel and Steve Dupuie go over these matters.
