Did Pope Leo XIII, the ‘Venerable’ Holzhauser, and the ‘Lady of Fatima’ predict a 2017 Tribulation?

Did Pope Leo XIII, the ‘Venerable’ Holzhauser, and the ‘Lady of Fatima’ predict a 2017 tribulation?
At least one Catholic source seems to think that could be so:
2017, Fatima and the End of the World
Seeing how the events of 1917 opened up an unprecedented century of evil in the world one is reminded of the vision of Pope Leo XIII in which Satan would be given one hundred years to attempt to destroy the church.
In 1884, after saying Mass on the morning of, according to at least one source, October 13th, as he was leaving the Altar, the 74 year old and frail Pope Leo XIII fell to the ground as if dead. One version has it that those around him thought for a few moments that he may have passed away. According to this version, a few minutes later, his breathing returned to normal and he revived.
Another version has it that as he was leaving the altar after a weekday low Mass, he paused as if in a trance for about 10 minutes, turning ashen white. And yet another states that Pope Leo went into this trance while kneeling in attendance of a mass of thanksgiving after his own Mass that morning. See Appendix II for sources of written documentation on this subject.
The Pope (born Joachim Vincent Pecci in 1810), according to the most common and popular version, related that he had experienced a sort of vision, in which he heard two voices, one of which he took to be that of Christ, gentle and kind, and the other that of Satan, guttural and harsh.
Satan said, “I could destroy Your Church if I had the time, and more power over those who give themselves over to my service.” And then Pope Leo heard Christ to answer, “You have the power, you have the time: 100 years.”
If the visions of Fatima were the beginning of a hell-inspired century it means we are approaching the end of this time.
Curiously, the prophet Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser predicted seven ages of the church. The fifth began in 1517 with the Protestant Revolution. This period of tribulation comes to it’s five hundredth anniversary also in the year 2017. This fifth age would culminate in terrible persecution of the church. After that he predicted an era of peace and consolation. Our Lady at Fatima also predicted a period of peace after the difficulties to come.
Will 2017 therefore see some sort of climactic event which surges humanity and the whole world into a new era? http://www.patheos.com/blogs/standingonmyhead/2017-fatima-and-the-end-of-the-world
I am familiar with the predictions of Pope Leo XIII and Holzhauser related to this. As far as Fatima goes, I wrote a book about that and do not believe that any one who looks at the facts can really believe that Jesus’ mother Mary appeared there (see Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions).
Yet, there are a few points to consider.
Various Catholic prophecies tell of a time that they often refer to as the ‘minor chastisement.’
While that is not the ‘great tribulation’ it could, to a degree, coincide with the time period Jesus referred to as the beginning of sorrows:
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:4-8)
We appear to be in the ‘beginning of sorrows’ now and certain things Catholic writings tell of could happen relatively soon. Notice, for example, the following:
Our Lady told Sister Marianne:…”But this knowledge will only become known to the general public in the 20th. Century. “During this epoch the Church will find itself attacked by waves by the secret sect… (Birch DA. Trial, Tribulation & Triumph: Before During and After Antichrist. Queenship Publishing Company, Goleta (CA), 1996, p. 326).
At some time in the future, the corrupt faithless age we live in now will come to an end either through repentance (immediately followed by an age of peace)–or there will be a chastisement. This would be a Minor Chastisement preceding an Age of Peace. It is not the Tribulation of the Antichrist…
Civil war breaks out in France and Italy at almost the same time. This is the sign given by many prophets that the Chastisement has begun…
This will spread to general wars, and, famine and pestilence (the usual by-products of war)…
Earthquakes, tidal waves, floods and all other sorts of “natural” disasters will occur…
Some Moslems will cause great trouble for the Church and Europe in general …
England will suffer a terrible civil war which starts after the French and Italians have gone through theirs. (Birch, p. 553).
As the above points out, the ‘minor chastisement’ is NOT the Great Tribulation.
Jesus said that the Great Tribulation comes AFTER the beginning of sorrows, closely AFTER Matthew 24:14 is fulfilled, and very closely after the abomination of desolation is set up in Matthew 24:15:
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:14-22)
Because certain events have not taken place, including one related to Daniel 9:27, it is not possible that the Great Tribulation will occur in 2017.
Yet, some Protestants and others incorrectly suspect that it might (watch Will the Great Tribulation Start in 2017?).
The Great Tribulation is coming (Matthew 24:21), but it will not begin in 2017.
That being said, we may see more troubles in the USA, Europe, and elsewhere in 2017.
We should also expect more hype this year related to Fatima as May 13, 2017 will mark the 100th anniversary of the first appearance of that apparition. Pope Francis is really into his version of ‘Mary’ as well as the Fatima situation.
