EU Forming by Stealth
The European Empire is forming right before our eyes yet almost no one notices it. When the Lisbon Treaty went into effect, the Wall Street Journal reported:
Like a tree falling in a forest with nobody around, the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty made barely a sound on Tuesday. And that was in Brussels. [December 1, 2009] (Fidler S. Yet the same article indicated that this empire will develop much more power over time. And it has.
In its update read for yesterday, the Living Church of God had the following read in announcements:
Federal Europe by Stealth. A recent London Times headline read, “Softly, softly a federal Europe draws nearer.” The Times article continued, “While British and US politics have dominated the headlines this year, the truly historic events have occurred in Europe… The EU has taken its most decisive step towards becoming a genuine unitary State, by shifting key policies on taxes and public spending from national to federal level. That one of the most controversial decisions in modern European history has been taken with almost no public awareness or debate is a tribute to the top-down style of government perfected by the EU’s political elites. The EU version of elitist representative democracy, despite its apparent drawbacks, may go down in history as a more successful mechanism for managing the complex compromises demanded in a world of huge geopolitical change than the… US and British models.” The article concluded with the sobering observation, “European integration has always advanced through crises—and a great leap forward towards fiscal and political federalism has become irreversible after this year’s eurozone crisis. That was precisely what the euro’s creators intended” (Times, November 3, 2010). Bible prophecy reveals that the sudden appearance of a unified Beast power in Europe, consisting of ten kings (leaders) who give their power to this central government will surprise the world (Revelation 13:3; 17:12-13). Over time, all the nations who remain in the EU will learn that they have retained even less sovereignty than they thought—and later they will give up even more (Revelation 17:12-13).
As far as stealth goes, if people would pay attention, they could see is happening. For example, the two Euro coin that is at the beginning of this article is one that I got in Greece a few years ago. On it, is an immodest woman riding a beast–that is one small clue. Europa, by the way, is the name of the woman, and is where Europe got its name. Yet, those of us who read the Bible realize that the Bible warns about a woman that rides a beast:
3…I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. (Revelation 17:3-10, NKJV)
Instead of fearing this, modern Europe uses the Europa on the Beast image often. So much so, there is a statue of a version of it in front of the EU’s headquarters in Brussels. Yet despite how obvious this should be, most people do not understand. And that is partially why all the world will marvel when the final beast power rises up (Revelation 13:3-4; 17:8).
More and more events are lining up with Bible prophecy.
But the stealth of what is happening does not have to happen to you. Notice Jesus’ words:
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (Luke 21:34-36, KJV)
Jesus warned that many people would not be aware of what was happening in the end. Even if your friends, family, and nation will not repent and watch, you can. Jesus expects you to. Will you?
