EU wants to be the global judge of human rights

EU adopts new sanctions regime – allegedly to punish human rights violators. In reality as an instrument in the global power struggle.
BRUSSELS/BERLIN (Own report) – With its new sanctions regime, the EU is posing as a global judge and avenger of factual or alleged human rights violations. A relevant sanctions law, largely modeled after the US American “Global Magnitsky Act” was passed yesterday by the foreign ministers of the EU. It entitles the Union to freeze the assets and block the visas of citizens of foreign countries, accused of serious human rights violations. Politically, this is only aimed at representatives of non-allied states. …

Plans for an EU version of the Magnitsky Act have been in discussion for years. On March 14, 2019, the EU Parliament – in a resolution that passed with 447 votes in favor against 70 against – had explicitly called for the introduction of a “European Magnitzky Act.”[7] On December 9, 2019, the foreign ministers of the EU agreed to launch concrete preparations for such a law. The EU External Action Service (EAS) was commissioned to make the necessary preparations. The German government has been particularly active in promoting EU’s own sanctions law. Already in November 2019 the State Secretary of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Michaelis, announced that during its term as EU Council President, Berlin intended to “further develop” the “implementation of a pan-EU mechanism for human rights sanctions.”[8] The program for Germany’s EU Council Presidency states that “the expansion of the EU’s capacity to impose and implement sanctions” will be promoted. In fact, in late November, a law was formulated that the ambassadors of the EU’s member countries explicitly approved. Yesterday, Monday, the law ultimately was passed by the foreign ministers of the EU.
“A Broad Interpretation”
Formally, the EU’s sanctions law is primarily aimed at serious human rights violations such as genocide, torture, slavery, state sanctioned murders (“extrajudicial killings”) and arbitrary arrests. Sanctions are also foreseen for cases of “systematic and extensive violations,” as in cases of human smuggling, sexual violence and violations of the rights of assembly, freedom of expression and religion. “This means that a broad interpretation has been accepted.”[9] Like its predecessors, the new sanctions law entitles the Union to freeze the assets within its borders of the accused and to deny them entry into the EU. 12/08/20
The European Union has been pushing to increase its role on the world scene.
Essentially, it sees the USA as failing and believes its way is superior.
The EU also believes that when it comes to product standards and trade rules.
The Bible shows that Europe will dominate trade and a lot else in the world for a time (cf. Revelation chapters 13,17, & 18).
The Bible also shows that Germany will rise up and be the force behind a temporarily united European Beast power.
For now, while European leaders appear to be supportive of NATO, in the end Europe will betray the NATO members of the USA, Canada, and UK.
Consider the following prophecies:
21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. (Daniel 11:21)
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. … the king of the North (Daniel 11:39, 40)
23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.
24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.25 “Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:23-25)
The above leader is the final European King of the North Beast power. He will eliminate the USA and the UK. He will seemingly feign to be bringing peace, before doing so.
Europe will need to reorganize to accomplish some of its goals, but the Bible tells of at least two more reorganizations to come in Europe in Revelation 17:2-13 (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).
While some do not believe that Europe wants to destroy the USA or is capable of rising up to take over the USA, Canada, and the UK, consider the following two portions of scripture:
5 “Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger
And the staff in whose hand is My indignation.
6 I will send him against an ungodly nation,
And against the people of My wrath
I will give him charge,
To seize the spoil, to take the prey,
And to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7 Yet he does not mean so,
Nor does his heart think so;
But it is in his heart to destroy,
And cut off not a few nations.
8 For he says,
‘Are not my princes altogether kings?
9 Is not Calno like Carchemish?
Is not Hamath like Arpad?
Is not Samaria like Damascus?
10 As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols,
Whose carved images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
11 As I have done to Samaria and her idols,
Shall I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?'” (Isaiah 10:5-11)2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him? (Revelation 13:2-4)
The Bible shows that the European power (called Assyria in Isaiah 10; see also Germany in Biblical Prophecy) does not think it intends to be militaristic, but that it judges that it should conquer. The Bible shows that the world will marvel that Europe was able to be such a military power as Europe basically had been dismissed as irrelevant.
For those that think that deceit and destruction cannot happen to the USA, understand that Daniel 11:39 shows that a European power will destroy the ‘strongest fortresses’–which in the 21st century belong to the USA, this shows that the USA will be defeated, despite its military strength (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).
Germany is signalling that it is working towards making Europe a strong and dominating power.

PESCO and a Great European Army In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”? Has Donald Trump’s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a “paranoid fantasy” or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by “friends” such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? Lamentations 1:1-2 indicates that the USA will be betrayed and destroyed militarily by its “friends.” Europe does not have to be stronger in all areas than the USA, only enough to win when the USA is not expecting it.
Europe wants to rise up and assert itself as the moral leader of the world. It will, for a time, align with the Vatican, which it will believe will assist it that way.
Yet, the Bible also shows that supporters of the European Beast power will turn against the Church of Rome, the great city of seven hills (Revelation 17:9, 15-18).
However, Europe’s reign will end. And be replaced by “the Lord, the righteous Judge” (2 Timothy 4:8).
And that will usher in the good news of the Kingdom of God.
