Europe ‘finalizes’ banking union: a prelude to Revelation 13?

The President of the European Central Bank (ECB) now has a lot more power:

(Reuters) – Europe took the final step to complete a banking union on Thursday with an agency to shut failing euro zone banks, but there will be no joint government back-up to pay the costs of closures.

The breakthrough ends an impasse with the European Parliament, which persuaded euro zone countries to strengthen the scheme. It completes the second pillar of banking union, which starts at the end of the year when the European Central Bank takes over as watchdog.

The accord means that the ECB has the means to shut banks it decides are too weak to survive, reinforcing its role as supervisor as it prepares to run health checks on the still fragile sector. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/03/20/uk-eu-bankingunion-idUKBREA2J0IW20140320

But there still are issues that really have not been fully resolved:

The 18 euro zone countries do not intend to cover jointly the cost of dealing with individual bank failures, a central tenet of the original plan for banking union.

Germany resisted pressure from Spain and France to make such a concession. Its finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble welcomed new rules forcing bank creditors to take losses and that “the mutualised liability … remained ruled out” – a reference to sharing the burden of a bank collapse.

So, when this has problems, Germany will not be contractually required to bail it out. It may, of course, decide to later do so, but more on its terms. There remains major differences in Europe, but those were actually prophesied.

The Bible clearly shows that the end time European Beast power will not be totally cohesive, will contain weak and strong parts, and be partly fragile:

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)

The Bible also teaches that a European power will control much of the world’s economy and for a time:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18)

A ‘banking union’ is a step towards the ability to control buying and selling.

The Bible also teaches that a successfully warring power will emerge again in Europe (Daniel 11:29-44). The Bible specifically shows that this warring Babylonian Beast power will be so successful the world will marvel (Revelation 13:4).

This will likely take technology to fulfill this as the European King of the North power will takeover the country with the “strongest fortresses” according to Daniel 11:39. In the 21st century, is that not now the USA?. The Bible shows that the USA will be taken over by a European power (see also the video: Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?), despite its current and future fragility.

A fragile banking union is a step towards the prophesied ‘unity’ coming to Europe.
