European Union reveals Readiness 2030 program–its way for Europe to be a military superpower–‘EU slams the door on US in colossal defense plan’

European Union leaders announced and are meeting on defense matters:

The 27 leaders of the European Union are gathering in Brussels for a summit with a remarkably busy agenda led by Russia’s war on Ukraine, the negotiations launched by Donald Trump and new multi-billion plans to rearm the bloc. …

The summit comes shrouded in a feeling of déjà vu, given that the 27 got together only two weeks ago to discuss Ukraine and defence. The emergency meeting was convened in reaction to Trump’s fast-moving diplomacy and his pivot towards Moscow, which rattled leaders and stoked fears of an imminent collapse of the transatlantic alliance. …

Talk of boosting defence spending across the EU must be linked to discussions on economic growth, European Parliament chief Roberta Metsola told reporters in Brussels.

“If we don’t lead, we will lag (behind). A stronger economy requires smart spending,” Metsola added.

She said the EU can make a “real difference” within the long-term common budget, known as the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), by matching funds to citizens’ needs. …

The Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) welcomed the White Paper on defence released on Wednesday but called for “urgent action” from EU member states, warning that “the industry is at a critical juncture” following decades of underinvestment.

ASD, which represents 4,000 companies and 98% of the industry’s total turnover, said in a statement that it supports the Commission’s call for more collaborative procurement but urged governments to place orders with European companies in order to “reduce critical dependencies and strengthen Europe’s security of supply and freedom of action”.

The pan-European association had previously said that a so-called European preference for defence spending is an “imperative”.

EU slams the door on US in colossal defense plan

BRUSSELS — United States arms-makers are being frozen out of the European Union’s massive new defense spending plan, which aims to splash the cash for EU and allied countries, according to defense spending plans released Wednesday.

Also left out — for now — is the United Kingdom.

“We must buy more European. Because that means strengthening the European defense technological and industrial base,” said Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in announcing the Readiness 2030 program. …

In a bid to strengthen ties with allies, Brussels involved countries like South Korea and Japan and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in its program that could see as much as €800 billion spent on defense.

“We need to see not only Russia as a threat, but also … more global geopolitical developments and where Americans will put their strategic attention,” European Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius told reporters.

In recent years, about two-thirds of EU procurement orders have gone to U.S. defense companies. …

The danger of relying too much on the U.S. was highlighted by Trump’s sudden decision to undermine allied Ukraine by halting arms deliveries and intelligence-sharing to pressure Kyiv into accepting peace talks with Russia.

Kallas pointed to how Kyiv has been hampered by relying on outsiders. “They use weapons that are not produced in Ukraine [and] sometimes there are limitations on how they can use those weapons … your military needs to really have free hands in this regard,” she said.

The EU strategy underlined that while the United States is “traditionally a strong ally,” it added that Washington “believes it is over-committed in Europe and needs to rebalance, reducing its historical role as a primary security guarantor.” …

As of the end of January, the EU had six defense and security partnerships: with Norway, Moldova, South Korea, Japan, Albania and North Macedonia.

Turkey and Serbia, as EU candidate countries, could also potentially join.

That leaves out the U.S. and the U.K. …

Notice that the Europeans want to spend their funds on European military weapons and not on weapons from the USA or UK. This is one way for Europe to support its industrial base which may be hurt by tariffs from the Trump Administration.

As far as having a “colossal defense plan,” Europe wants to become a military superpower.

Europe … numerous revivals of the Roman Empire have arisen in Europe in the centuries since the fall of ancient Rome.

In Revelation 17, these revivals are represented by the seven heads of a wild animal. … One last restoration of this great political system is yet to arise. This confederated Europe will be an immense political, military and economic power — a great Third Force in world affairs, a superpower in its own right. Prophecy further reveals that this powerful church-state union will be composed of “ten horns” — meaning 10 nations or groups of nations (Rev. 17:3) — under the overall leadership of a single political figure (verse 13). Back in 1979, the old Worldwide Church of God published that events would lead to a European superpower:

The future United States of Europe is destined to become the major trading block on earth, and, in context, it is clear that those who refuse to become tributary to her economic and religious system will be reduced to poverty, unable to buy and sell. Thus, her present economic strength can be expected to continue.

New cooperative spirit

A second factor leading to the creation of a European superpower is the fast-developing new feeling of oneness, solidarity and pan-European unity, based on these new economic gains Europeans now wish to maintain. This new willingness by Europeans to cooperate (to some degree) and to work together for the common good flies in the face of their basic tendencies (usually nationalistic and hostile to most concepts of union) over the past several hundred years. This new spirit of cooperation has materialism as a bottom line, With time, prophecy tells us that economic union will give rise to spiritual union (directed by a mother church) and then will come final complete political and military union. Notice something that the old Radio Church of God published 60 years ago:

The apostle John used the symbolic term “locusts” to describe the terrifying WAR MACHINES that would be invented and used by power-crazed men in this final World War! Notice that these symbolic “locusts” or grasshoppers are DRIVEN BY MEN (Verse 7) — the LEADERS OF THE FASCIST BEAST POWER (Nahum 3:17-19) — and are able to fly (Rev. 9:9). …

Where does this super-army, with its demon leadership come from? Verses 2-3. Is this symbolic “bottomless pit” referred to elsewhere so that we can identify the army which proceeds from it? Rev. 17:8. Isn’t this superarmy the ARMY OF THE BEAST — the REVITALIZED FASCIST EUROPEAN ARMY — backed by the HARLOT CHURCH OF SATAN the devil? Verses 7-13. (Lesson 36 – Feast of Trumpets. Europe is now publicly declaring it wants its own army and that it will produce a lot of its own weapons, with a budget plan to do so.

Here is a specific prophecy in the Bible that shows that the final power in Europe will end up with a large army:

25 “He shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South with a great army. (Daniel 11:25)

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; (Daniel 11:40)

The “he” above is the European King of the North Beast power. Notice that he will control a “great army” with “many ships” and other military weaponry. Weaponry that the EU is meeting about today!

Although Europe is NOT yet ready to conquer, the Bible says that this European Beast power will reorganize and is going to surprise the world with its military success:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3-4)

The world will marvel because it did not think that the European Beast, King of the North, power could possibly beat the USA militarily.

Beat the USA militarily?

Yes.

The following prophecy is one that shows the coming defeat of the USA:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)

The “he” above is the European King of the North Beast power. The power with the strongest military fortresses in the 21st century is presently the USA. But it will be defeated by Europe (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

European leaders are unknowingly preparing for this.

Fear is a powerful motivator and statements and actions by the Donald Trump Administration have been pushing Europeans to take bold steps militarily.

European Union wants military independence from the USA

European Union wants to be militarily independent of the USA – check, European Union wants a larger military – check, European Union wants nukes – check, European Union wants this for defensive purposes –will Europe acquire a great army? Will Europe defeat the Biblical King of the South? Is Europe the King of the North? Will Europe defeat the King(s) from the east? Here’s a big question – will Europe conquer the United States of America? Is the United State of America mentioned in the Bible? These are fascinating questions that will be answered in the very near future. The fact that these conflicts will occur is a certainty, as they are a prophesied fact in the Bible in the book of Daniel. But when will these conflicts occur? Daniel was told to shut up the words, they were for the time of the end.
