Europe’s Debt Crisis Impacting India

India is being affected by the European debt crisis:

India’s Rupee Falls, Erases Gains on Concern Over Europe Crisis

Nov. 23 (Bloomberg) — India’s rupee fell, erasing earlier gains, on concern European policy makers will be unable to contain the region’s debt crisis, hurting demand for emerging- market assets…

“The situation in Europe is the main driver of emerging- market currencies,” Mumbai-based Harding said. “Unless there is a credible solution to the debt problems, domestic policy will be largely ineffective.”

Europe is destined to have even more impact on the trading nations of the world (Revelation 18), and this includes India.

The Bible shows that Europe will have to restructure:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

Notice some comments about this by the late Herbert W. Armstrong (who made various trips to places, including India):

“And in the days of these kings…”–it is here speaking of the ten toes, part of iron and part of brittle clay. This, by connecting the prophecy with Daniel 7, and Revelation 13 and 17, is referring to the new UNITED STATES OF EUROPE that is now forming, out of the European Common Market, before your very eyes! Revelation 17:12 makes plain the detail that it shall be a union of TEN KINGS OR KINGDOMS that (Rev. 17:8) shall resurrect the old ROMAN EMPIRE. So, mark carefully the time element! “In the days of these kings”–in the days of these then nations or groups of nations that shall, IN OUR TIME, resurrect briefly the Roman Empire… (The members of the European Common Market are probably not the same ten that will resurrect the Holy Roman Empire.) (Armstrong HW. Mystery of the Ages. Dood, Mead & Company, New York, 1985, pp. 301,302-303)

And I can see now, the event that is going to trigger the formation of the reunification in Europe; the resurrection of the medieval Holy Roman Empire that we’ve been looking forward to that is prophesied to come…But I believe that some event is going to happen suddenly just like out a blue sky that is going to shock the whole world and is going to cause the nations in Europe to realize they must unite! … Well now I think I can see what may be the very event that is going to trigger…that is the economic situation in the world…(Armstrong HW. Sermon on July 7, 1984).

The economic problems in Europe and the rest of the world are now factors in bringing about the unification of Europe and the willingness to set up a more unified political structure that will cross current national borders.

The final European Beast power will not actually be highly unified as it will basically be a combination of strong and weak, or as the Bible more literally states, iron and clay:

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)

According to Bible prophecy, a European power, despite its fragility, is destined to temporarily be the most dominant force in the world. And while it will trade with India, ultimately India is expected to turn against it.

But it should be of interest to those in India to realize that even at it fairly weakened stage, Europe is even now impacting India’s finances. And as Bible prophecy indicates (cf. Revelation 13; 18) it will even more in the future.
