In his book 1984, George Orwell warned about a totalitarian society that had surveillance cameras all over and they recognized individual people. What is starting to happen now is actually more widespread than his book warned about. There will be even more surveillance than George Orwell anticipated. In addition to Gaia-X, which is intended to have massive amount of data, Europe is actually working with the US to have a massive facial recognition database (see ‘EU poised to create massive transatlantic facial-recognition database, link with US’).

Bible prophecy warns about a European power, identified as the King of the North? in Daniel 11:40, that will have a tremendous amount of control and even understand secret/hidden things:

23 ‘And in the latter end of their kingdom, about the perfecting of the transgressors, stand up doth a king, fierce of face, and understanding hidden things; (Daniel 8:23, Young’s Literal Translation)

This European King of the North leader will be clever and militaristic.

As it turns out, the USA keeps pushing Europe to be more militaristic in many ways. Notice the following:

German conservatives slam reported US troop withdrawal

Washington’s alleged plan to transfer about 9,500 troops out of its German bases is a symbolic gesture that is likely to weaken US military operations and “further deteriorate” trans-Atlantic ties, conservative lawmaker Andreas Nick told DW on Saturday.

The comments come after the Wall Street Journal, Der Spiegel magazine, and the Reuters news agency all reported that the US is preparing to cut down its German contingent. Some 34,500 US troops are currently stationed in Germany. The transfer is reportedly due to Germany not investing enough money into its defense. …

Wake up call for Europe

Germany serves as a major hub for the US military and NATO in Europe and the wider region, with the US maintaining key facilities such as the Ramstein Air Base in southwestern Germany. However, the ties between Berlin and Washington have been deteriorating steadily over geopolitical, financial, and environmental issues since Donald Trump took office in January 2017.

On Saturday, senior German conservative Johann Wadephul said the withdrawal of troops would be yet another wake up call for Europeans to take their fate in their own hands.

“The plans show once again that the Trump administration is disregarding an elementary task of leadership: the involvement of allies in the decision-making process,” said Wadephul,  who serves as the deputy head of the parliamentary group for Angela Merkel’s  CDU party. https://www.dw.com/en/german-conservatives-slam-reported-us-troop-withdrawal/a-53705522

Europe has started to put its own military together with an organization called PESCO. Here is some more information about it:

Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) initiative …

PESCO is an attempt within the EU to develop means for standardization of training, development, and information flows that will allow European forces to cooperate and execute smoothly in operational settings. All of this is to be done through synchronization of capabilities requirements and goals and harmonization of investment in research and technology and procurement. The ideal result is greater Europeanization of capabilities and supply chain cultivation – and thus greater European strategic autonomy.

Following a series of events starting in 2014, this ambition grew in focus. These events included Russia’s destabilizing behavior along Europe’s eastern frontier and utilization of hybrid warfare tactics in Ukraine, the Brexit referendum in the U.K., and concern over U.S. strategic reorientation towards the Pacific Rim and deteriorating relations under President Donald Trump.

And the latest threat to reduce American troops in Germany is getting  some to realize that Europe needs to wake up and take more military planning and other steps now. More and more in Europe see reasons to shorten “the Long Road” to military independence of the USA.

PESCO and a Great European Army

In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”? Has Donald Trump’s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a “paranoid fantasy” or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by “friends” such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? The Bible shows that a leader will arise in Europe who eventually will destroy places like the USA, UK, and Canada:

24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.

25 “Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:24-25)

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39).

He will eliminate the USA and its British-descended allies. But he will also want to control all that he can.

And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:1-4)

He will be a successful military leader and the world will marvel because of his defeat of the USA and other nations (cf. Daniel 11:39-43).

And what about data?

The world in general, and Europe in particular is moving more and more towards becoming a totalitarian state.

When will this fully be in place?

After the Gospel of the Kingdom of God has sufficiently reached the world the end comes and the Beast will rise up (Matthew 24:14-22, Revelation 13).

We are getting closer to that day.

Facial Recognition and Christian Persecution?

Will facial recognition systems help the coming European Beast of the Sea (Revelation 13) power gain totalitarian control? Are steps being taken along those lines? This is a major, first-of-its-kind move, with the EU setting up a European-wide prosecutor’s office that will have power to investigate and charge people for financial crimes committed against the EU. It looks like this type of office may end up persecuting those that do not have the mark of the Beast when they “buy or sell” as that will later be considered a financial crime in Europe. Orwell’s 1984 by 2024?

In 1949, the late George Orwell wrote a disturbing book about a totalitarian government called “nineteen-eighty four.” Despite laws that are supposed to protect freedom of speech and religion, we are seeing governments taking steps consistent with those that Geroge Orwell warned against. We are also seeing this in the media, academia, and in private companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter. With the advent of technology, totalitarianism beyond what Orwell wrote is possible. Does the Bible teach the coming a totalitarian state similar to George Orwell’s? What about the Antichrist and 666? Will things get worse? What is the solution? The biblical reality is that 666 control and more Orwellian monitoring is coming per Revelation 13:16-18).

While the USA is being distracted by COVID-19, protests, looting, riots, racial division, etc., Europe, though reeling from COVID-19 and Brexit, is pushing forward.

Europe is pushing to be ‘sovereign’ on data matters.

Europe is pushing for ‘strategic autonomy’ on military matters.

Europe is striving to be ‘independent’ of the USA on data and military matters.

The USA is pushing Europe to become the Beast that the Book of Revelation warns about.

Yet, this is something barely noticed by the media in the USA. Hence relatively few in the USA have an real idea where this will lead.

It will lead to the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22), the destruction of the USA, disasters around the world, but ultimately the return of Jesus and the establishment on the millennial Kingdom of God.

In the Continuing Church of God, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV). We are not afraid are not afraid to “Cry aloud” (Isaiah 58:1) as a “voice of one crying in the wilderness” (Isaiah 40:3b) telling people to “Prepare the way of the Lord” (Isaiah 40:3b).

Jesus warned many would be distracted in the end times (cf. Matthew 24:36-44). Jesus also warned:

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)

Understand that in the end time, most Christians are NOT Philadelphian and will NOT be counted worthy to escape what will come to pass.

7. The Laodicean Church Era has been predominant circa 1986 A.D. to present.
