EU’s Juncker: Irish border controls needed in no-deal Brexit

EU Commission President Juncker is warning that border controls will be required on the Irish isle in the event of a no-deal Brexit (bolding below headline mine). Here are two reports originating from the UK:

LONDON (AP) —The European Union will insist that border controls be put up along the Irish border if Britain leaves the bloc without a deal and the British government will be responsible for that, a top EU official said.
Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission president, told Sky News in an interview broadcast Sunday that the blame for that would rest squarely on Britain. Border controls could in theory go up soon after Oct. 31, Britain’s scheduled departure date.
Brussels was “in no way responsible” for the consequences of a no-deal Brexit, Juncker told Sky News.
“We have to make sure that the interests of the European Union and of the internal market will be preserved,” he said. …
Johnson is trying to get the EU to agree to replace the backstop with “alternative arrangements” — a mix of technology to replace border checks and a common area for agricultural products and animals covering the whole island of Ireland.
Juncker said he is open to alternative arrangements, but noted that in a no-deal Brexit, an animal entering Northern Ireland could then enter the EU via Ireland if there are no border controls.
“This will not happen,” he said. “We have to preserve the health and the safety of our citizens.”
Under the rules of the EU’s single market, goods and people can move across the 28 countries seamlessly.

BRIGHTON, England (Reuters) – EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has said he is convinced Brexit will happen, reiterating that if Britain left the European Union without a deal there would be a new border between Northern Ireland and Ireland.

The EU’s position long has been that any and all problems associated with Brexit are the UK’s fault. The EU did not want the UK to leave, and since the UK voted to do so (contrary to some words on the signs at the beginning of this post), everything that may go wrong is the UK’s fault.
Before looking at another report, it is unclear how keeping the border open, which has been the case for decades, will hurt the health and safety of EU citizens after October 31st. But politicians often result to fear tactics.

Border controls will be placed between Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland if the UK leaves the EU without a deal, said Jean-Claude Juncker, chief of the European Union’s executive arm. Juncker told Britain’s Sky News the EU has to “make sure that the interests of the European Union and of the internal market will be preserved.”
How to preserve a frictionless border between EU member Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom, is the thorniest issue in the Brexit discussions.
The EU fears a hard border could cause unrest in Northern Ireland and undermine the fragile peace provided by a 1998 peace deal that ended three decades of violence between Irish nationalists seeking a united Ireland, and British security forces and pro-British unionists.
Juncker noted that without a border after a no-deal Brexit, an animal entering Northern Ireland could then enter the EU via Ireland without any controls. He says “this will not happen. We have to preserve the health and the safety of our citizens.” …
“I believe that we still have a chance to reach an agreement,” the paper quoted Juncker as saying. “I don’t share the views of those who think that Johnson is playing games with us and with himself,” he said.

The border between the Republic of Ireland and the UK’s Northern Ireland has been open for some time, but many in the UK are upset that the EU essentially thinks that Northern Ireland will have to function a lot like it is still in the EU for that border to be open.
But the time will come when Europe will dominate all of the Irish isle.
Despite British hopes for its future, loss of territories will one day include Northern Ireland. Notice a few prophetic warnings that are consistent with that:
24 ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. (Leviticus 18:24-29)
23 ‘And if by these things you are not reformed by Me, but walk contrary to Me, 24 then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword against you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; when you are gathered together within your cities I will send pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. (Leviticus 26:23-25)
58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues — great and prolonged plagues — and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess. (Deuteronomy 28:58-63)
These territorial losses will include Northern Ireland and Gibraltar, as well as England, Wales, and Scotland. Yes, one day, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be no more.
Therefore, even if there is a ‘hard’ (no deal with the EU) or ‘soft’ (some deal with Boris Johnson) Brexit, or even if there is NO Brexit, I expect that the Republic of Ireland (or at least an Irish leader) will gain control over Northern Ireland and probably other lands as well within the next decade or so.
Furthermore, notice what Article 3 the Irish Constitution states:
It is the firm will of the Irish Nation, in harmony and friendship, to unite all the people who share the territory of the island of Ireland, in all the diversity of their identities and traditions, recognising that a united Ireland shall be brought about only by peaceful means with the consent of a majority of the people, democratically expressed, in both jurisdictions in the island. Until then, the laws enacted by the Parliament established by this Constitution shall have the like area and extent of application as the laws enacted by the Parliament that existed immediately before the coming into operation of this Constitution.
While the democratic way is one way, if that does not work, military pressure will accomplish this (cf. Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39).
That view of Ireland is also consistent with certain Catholic prophecies:
St. Senanus (d. 560): They (English) themselves will betray each other: in consequence their sovereignty will be broken…One monarch will rule in Ireland over the English (Culleton R. Gerald. The Reign of Antichrist, Reprint TAN Books, Rockford, IL, 1974, p. 128).
St. Malachy (12th century). “Ireland will suffer English oppression for a week of centuries, but will preserve her fidelity to God and His Church. At the end of that time she will be delivered, and the English in turn must suffer severe chastisement. Ireland, however, will be instrumental in bringing back the English to the unity of Faith.” (Dupont, Yves. Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement. TAN Books, Rockford (IL), 1973, p.15)

Although I wrote what I did based upon biblical prophecies, the desires of Spain and Ireland, as well as the writings of Catholic prophets, are consistent with the view that the UK will lose Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.
With what has been going on in the UK, the EU, and the USA since the Brexit vote, more in the UK are concluding that the EU wants to be an empire. The EU has taken several stances that the UK does not like, including stances that the EU used to pretend it did not really have. Glimpses of the true colors of the European project (e.g. Daniel 2:41-43; Isaiah 10:5-8) have re-assured some in the UK that leaving the EU is in its best interest.
Consider that the Bible itself teaches that Europe will reorganize and unite (Revelation 17:12-13; see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?), as well as become the dominant world trading power for a time (Revelation 17 & 18). The Bible also teaches of a time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7)–and this will include the UK (as well as the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand).
The Bible is accurate and its prophecies can be counted on.
Most people do NOT realize what will happen in Europe.
Europe is not going to ‘get over’ the Brexit and will one day take actions that most of those in the UK (as well as USA and Canada) will not consider possible (cf. Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?
