First they removed OANN, then Newsmax, and now in France CNews and C8?
More and more, governments and ‘media’ companies are censoring (directly or indirectly) views they do not agree with.
There was a poem in 1946 by Martin Niemöller related to World War II that said:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
This type of thing seems to be happening in the modern ‘cancel culture’ and we are seeing more and more of it.
In addition to Big Tech censorship online, we have seen AT&T remove OANN and more recently Newsmax from Direct TV.
While the USA is NOT the Beast of Revelation 13, various ones in it have helped set the stage for more censorship to come.
Now, notice a report about France:

If things go the French government’s way, in two years’ time, the CNews and C8 networks could be taken over by an oligarch who happens to be a loyalist of President Emmanuel Macron, resulting in the end of right-wing conservative opposition voices on French television.
CNews is where journalist and essayist Éric Zemmour was allowed to express his views after he was banned from several French mainstream media outlets in 2019. The network has been a major target of the extreme left and many in Macron’s government.

The culture minister’s latest warning against the news channel and its sister channel C8, both parts of the Canal+ group belonging to billionaire businessman Vincent Bolloré, came about on Feb. 9 during an interview on the state-owned radio station France Inter. During that interview, Adbul Malak called on the Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication, or ARCOM, which is the media authority that supervises both audiovisual and digital communication in France, to make sure, before its board decides in 2025 whether CNews and C8 should have their broadcast licenses renewed, that those news channels have lived up to all their obligations in the past.
“There are channels that have access to free broadcast frequencies in exchange for certain obligations,” the French minister said, and “these obligations are laid out in the law, they are very clear, they encompass respect for pluralism, the fact of treating judicial cases in a measured way, the fact of having debates with all points of view represented on subjects that can be controversial.” https://rmx.news/france/macron-government-could-move-to-crush-media-rival-cnews-known-for-airing-conservative-views-by-revoking-its-license/
It is interesting that in the name of “pluralism,” divergent voices are to be potentially cancelled.
And while there are good reasons to consider that those stations will not be cancelled because their billionaire owner has ties to Macron and the Roman Catholic Church, the “logic” related to cancelling voices in the name of pluralism demonstrates some of the lengths that some want to go to, to eliminate views that they do not want others to hear.
There is a global movement to censor.
There is a building, global movement of intolerance to those that hold to biblical views on many topics.
Throughout the church age, persecutions sometimes included economic problems (cf. Revelation 13:16-17), verbal harassment, torture, and/or threat of death, often causing them to flee. The same things face Christians in this 21st century.
And while some are sounding alarms about what is happening in the USA–which claims to be a bastion for free speech and tolerance–something worse is going to rise in Europe.

In modern times government officials, academics, Big Tech, and many media companies in various lands have taken positions against the Bible, biblical morality, and speaking biblical truths.
Prophetically we know that more censorship is coming:
11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)
Various European leaders (cf. Revelation 17:12-13) will be involved in at least helping set the stage for that type of censorship–and we are hearing bits and pieces about it all the time from Europe (see also ‘EU Complains Elon Musk’s Twitter Lacks Appetite For Censorship’).

ChatGPT and 666
In November 2022, OpenAI released something called ChatGPT. Google held a meeting related to it the next month and some think it may possibly replace Google. Some suspect that artificial intelligence will generate up to 90% of internet content in the future. Some believe that items such as ChatGPT will eliminated certain writing, tech, and other jobs requiring a college education. What does ChatGPT stand for? Why are teachers concerned it may result in loss of writing and researching skills? Is ChatGPT a neutral information source or is it biased as ‘conservatives’ have claimed? What has it said about transgenderism, political leaders, and drag queens? Do ChatGPT and other tech companies “suppress the truth in unrighteousness”? More persecution is coming–and some of those will be for the very reasons they did before–that real Christians will tell the truth and ‘contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints’ (Jude 3).
