China is displeased with moves by Donald Trump related to Hong Kong:
Hong Kong: China vows to retaliate after Trump ends special economic status

China has vowed to retaliate after the US ended Hong Kong’s preferential trade status and imposed sanctions on officials who crack down on rights.
President Donald Trump said he was acting because China had taken away Hong Kong’s freedom after it imposed a new security law.
Beijing condemned Mr Trump’s decision, saying it would impose sanctions on relevant people and entities in the US.
US-China ties have become increasingly strained over a wide range of issues.
Apart from Beijing’s actions in Hong Kong, Mr Trump has criticised China over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic as well as its military build-up in the South China Sea, its treatment of Muslim minorities and massive trade surpluses.
Mr Trump’s decision means the end of Hong Kong’s special trade status with the US, agreed in 1984 when the territory was still a British colony. Hong Kong is expected to be treated the same as mainland China, meaning its goods could be subjected to additional tariffs. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-53414539

No matter what, U.S. actions won’t have much impact on how China governs Hong Kong given the recent decisions in Beijing, according to Antony Dapiran, a lawyer based in the city and author of “City on Fire: The Fight for Hong Kong.”

Many Germans believe China will replace US as superpower: survey
Some 42% of Germans feel that the United States is likely to slip from its position as leading world power in the next few decades, with China moving up to replace it, a survey published on Tuesday has shown.
Just 14% of those surveyed by the UK-based YouGov polling institute believed that the US would retain its supremacy. As more and more Germans see the US declining, it should be pointed out that they also do not want to be dominated by China.
Declining power in the US has been serving as a motivator for the European Union in general, and Germany in particular, to consider increasing military spending (e.g., see ‘Europe should brace for a reality in which US is no longer a world power – Merkel’ and Germans sees US debt and US troop reductions as reasons to develop military and European army). COLOGNE, Germany — The European Union should prepare for the possibility of a gradual disengagement by the United States from the continent, even if Democratic challenger Joe Biden beats President Donald Trump in the November election, according to Germany’s defense minister.
Speaking before the European parliament on Tuesday, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said she believes only the “tone” in trans-Atlantic relations would change following a Biden win. The reorientation of America’s foreign policy toward China as a global rival would remain a key driving force in Washington, possibly at the expense of Europe, she said.

Furthermore, the Europeans increasingly see the US as taking steps of economic warfare against them. Notice, for example, the following:
A European foreign policy think tank warns of a dramatic expansion of the US economic war at the expense of Germany and the EU. According to a current analysis of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), the recent US bill on sanctions against Nord Stream 2 leaves no doubt that, for Washington, there are no more “taboos” in its economic war. The law that could be enacted within a few months would also provide for coercive measures against German officials. The ECFR is drawing attention to sanctions recommendations, coming particularly from Republicans, which would seriously affect the German economy. Not only should Russia be declared a “state sponsor of terrorism,” it should also be cut off from the financial messaging company SWIFT and additional sanctions should be imposed on China. Congressional representatives want to thwart the EU’s attempts to undermine US sanctions against Iran with the “Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges” (INSTEX) and propose “financial exercises.” …
Prevent Exports
The ECFR is particularly worried that the United States may use its option of tightening controls of its exports. These have an extraterritorial effect: Washington reserves the right to forbid the export to certain countries – even of foreign products – if 25 percent of the components of the product are of US fabrication. For some products, the percentage of US components is even less. The ECFR now points out that Washington is expanding the definition of products that could, at least theoretically, have military application and, therefore, fall under US export restrictions. The most recent expansion of the relevant definition, according to the think tank, went into effect last week. The Trump administration is constantly adding new foreign companies to its official sanctions list (“entity list”). In May 33 Chinese companies were added and “probably more will follow,” predicts the ECFR. That directly affects German manufacturers using US components. In addition, experts even have difficulty comprehending the labyrinth of US sanctions, which, particularly for smaller companies, increases the risk – and ultimately leads them to abandon attempts to make shipments to China altogether. 07/09/20 https://www.german-foreign-policy.com/en/news/detail/8330/
So, we see that the Europeans are concerned with US sanctions and ramifications for German and other European exports.
Europe may also be affected, at least indirectly, by the Hong Kong decision from the Trump Administration as well as other China-related decisions.

As far as Hong Kong goes, it needs to realize that Donald Trump’s moves thus far will not be enough to stop China from increasing control.
Ultimately, Hong Kong looks to be completely dominated by China.
As for Europe, as it sees the US as a declining ally, prophetically it can be concluded that it will more take steps to improve its trading abilities and military capabilities.
This will NOT end well for the US (cf. Daniel 11:39).
