A recent missile strike in Syria, the first of its kind in over a month, comes amid reports that Israel has succeeded in neutralizing 90% of Iran’s efforts to establish a military presence in the country. …
Israel does not comment on military activities outside of its borders but has admitted to carrying out at least two hundred such strikes in 2017 to prevent Iran from gaining a military presence in Syria.
On Saturday, a report in Hebrew-language Walla News cited “senior defense officials” as claiming that the IDF has destroyed 90% of the ability of Iran to produce weapons in Syria as well as thwarting their efforts to transfer weapons to Hezbollah via land, sea, or air. The report also claimed that the IDF has prevented Iran from establishing military bases in Syria.
This included the destruction of several facilities belonging to the Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC), better known by its French acronym CERS. Though CERS is defined by the Syrian government as a center for scientific research, in practice foreign intelligence sources believe that it is used for the development and production of rockets, missiles of various types, and chemical and biological weapons. https://www.israel365news.com/275940/report-israel-has-struck-90-of-irans-weapons-production-facilities-in-sria/
Despite Israeli attacks, Iran still has “rockets, missiles of various types, and chemical and biological weapons.”
Plus, Iran is improving its nuclear technologies, producing drones, and is believed to have electromagnetic pulse bomb capability.
Iran and Syria are likely to use some, if not all, of their military arsenal in the future–and probably mainly against Israel.
The utilization of military weapons by Iran and Syria looks to be consistent with the following biblical prophecy:
5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision — Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain. 6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots,And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. (Isaiah 22:51-9)
Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran. Kir is a reference to at least some in Syria as well as perhaps some who refer to themselves as Palestinian.
In Isaiah 22: 8, “Judah” is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel–God will allow Israel to be attacked! In Isaiah 22:9, consider that “the damage to the city of David” is a reference to at least part of Jerusalem (cf. 2 Kings 9:28)–and notice that the damage will be great.
Israel’s famed ‘Iron Dome’ will NOT stop the coming great damage that will hit Jerusalem, despite Israeli confidence. Perhaps Syria will be involved to somehow reduce its effectiveness when it “uncovered the shield.”
If so, Israel will not like that and would be expected to retaliate.
The Bible tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria’s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).
Syria’s capital Damascus has been called the oldest, continually-inhabited city on the earth (though another place also claims that position). It’s destruction is prophesied:
1 The burden against Damascus.
“Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,
And it will be a ruinous heap.
2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken;
They will be for flocks
Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid.
3 The fortress also will cease from Ephraim,
The kingdom from Damascus,
And the remnant of Syria;
They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,”
Says the Lord of hosts.4 “In that day it shall come to pass
That the glory of Jacob will wane,
And the fatness of his flesh grow lean. (Isaiah 17:1-4)
This destruction might happen around the time Jerusalem experiences massive damage.
This looks to take place near, and possibly before, the start of the “time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7), also known as the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22). Things will change in Syria as more destruction will hit it in the future.
Now as Isaiah 22 shows, Israel could very well be damaged by Iran before the the Great Tribulation begins.

Iran and Israel Conflict
European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrel, has been brokering the nuclear negotiations involving Iran and said that he thinks the deal is “in danger.” Iran blames the United States, whereas the USA says they are not delaying it. Israeli sources stated that Israel will stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. Joe Biden says the USA would use its own military power to prevent Iran from getting such a bomb if need be. In 2021, Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040. Does the 22nd chapter of Isaiah point to damage coming to Israel from Iran and possibly Syria? Might Iran be concerned enough about limited progress with the USA to launch some type of attack? Is Iran the prophesied ‘King of the South’? Is it reasonable to think that the prophesied peace deal of Daniel 9:27 will not happen until after a military conflict. like a regional war? As far as various prophecies go, let me also state that it may take a major regional war for the coming temporal ‘peace deal’ of Daniel 9:27 to be ratified. Iran, Syria, and Israel may one day be in a major regional war in the future. The USA could also be affected.
We are in the time Jesus referred to as “the beginning of sorrows,” it appears that two or three of the four horseman of the Apocalypse have begun their rides.
In addition to “rumors of war,” we should expect more wars as Jesus warned in Matthew 24:6.
We truly are getting closer to the end.
