Reports of Russia recruiting Syrians and Chechnyans to their war in Ukraine have Gog and Magog war implications, according to one rabbi who says that Esau embodied by Russia among other nations will unite at the end of days with Ishmael, represented by the Muslim world. …
Syrian media claimed that Russia had recruited between 2,500 and 4,000 pro-Assad Syrian mercenaries to fight in Ukraine, paying them $700 per month. The pay scale will increase to $1200 if they fight in Ukraine. According to the report in Daraa 24, members of the Fourth and Fifth Corps and the “Suhail al-Hassan” forces were taken for retraining at the T-4 military airbase before being sent to a base in Rostov, Russia. Russia utilized Syrian mercenaries in its fighting in Libya. The report conjectured that the Syrian fighters would be especially effective as “they will not show hesitation in the battles they are fighting because they differ from them [Ukrainians] ethnically and religiously.
Though it has not been confirmed that Syrian fighters arrived in Ukraine, Muslim Chechen fighters have played an active role in fighting for Russia. A report in RT claimed 12,000 Chechen special forces fighters, referred to as “Kadyrovites,” deployed to Ukraine. Chechnya, a mainly Muslim region in southern Russia, is a constituent republic. Chechen troops have fought alongside the Russians in Syria and Georgia.
Russian media outlets have been tapping into the reputation of Chechen fighters for brutality and religiously fueled fanaticism. …
“Esav and Ishmael will unite against Israel,” Rabbi Winston explained. “This will be the culmination of efforts by the Erev Rav (mixed multitude). But, in the end, Esav and Ishmael will turn on each other, and Ishmael will emerge victorious against Esav.”

There are several issues with the above.
As far as the peoples who are involved, let’s look at the first 6 verses of Ezekiel 38:
1 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops — many people are with you.
Pay special attention to verse 5.
Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya.
Persia is Iran, not Syria nor Esau.
The term ‘Ethiopia’ is a wrong translation of the Hebrew word ‘Cus.’
Barnes’ Notes on the Bible states:
Hebrew, Cushites – כשׁים kushı̂ym… The reference here, undoubtedly, is to the African Cush or Ethiopia, which bounded Egypt on the south.
Cushites basically mean dark-skinned people, hence this could include peoples from Sudan, Somalia (sometimes called Eastern Cushites). These are also not Syrians.
And Libya?
Well, there are various references to the word Libya in the Bible. However, many of the translations are questionable as sometimes a word for an old area of Persia (Phut) is translated as Libya.
Basically Strong’s (from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance) words 3864, 3865, & 3866 means people from the interior of Africa and seems to include the areas west of Egypt. Syria is east of Egypt.
Anyway, Israel365 News has repeatedly been wrong about Ezekiel 38 and the related battle for several years (including when it was formerly called Breaking Israel News).
While Russia will lead the battle of Ezekiel 38, that battle is not for this age.
The battle in Ukraine is NOT the start of “the War of Gog and Magog.”

A Russian TV host … has threatened the nuclear destruction of America and NATO countries, …
Dmitry Kiselyov made the comments on national television …
“Our submarines can shoot more than 500 nuclear warheads,” said Kiselyov, adding, “This would guarantee destruction of the USA, and all other NATO countries.”
The TV host suggested that there was no point to life continuing on earth if Russia ceased to exist, asserting, “In accordance with the principle, why do we need the world, if Russia isn’t there?”
Kiselyov went on to hype the strength of Moscow’s nuclear arsenal, bragging, “Russia’s nuclear arms are delivered by the world’s fastest strategic bombers.”

Russia does have a formidable nuclear arsenal.
Various ones, including its President Vladimir Putin, have pointed to it in recent days (e.g. ‘Putin puts Russia’s nuclear forces on high alert as fighting in Ukraine continues’).
While it is possible that some Russian nuclear weapons will be used against the USA at the start of the Great Tribulation, Russia is not about to launch a massive nuclear attack against the USA.
The destruction of the USA is possible in 2025, but even that year is probably too early.
What is happening now is NOT the start of the Great Tribulation or Ezekiel 38.
Yet, what is happening is consistent with taking peace from the earth and wars and rumors of war.
