Immunologists are fearing the worst as a strain of COVID deadlier than the current Delta variant is potentially looming around the corner.
This new “COVID-22” is more advanced than the Delta variant that’s currently wreaking havoc in Australia as it combines parts of the Beta, Gamma, and Delta strain into a super strain that may have “escape mutations” that counteract vaccines. Scientists are already recognizing the dangers of such a potent strain existing and are requesting that vaccine manufacturers adapt as soon as possible.
Dr. Chris Smith, a consultant virologist and lecturer at Cambridge University in the UK, urges the public to keep COVID preventative measures high as we head to the colder months with, “As we go into winter, now is a critical period and I think that is why we haven’t seen a rash, rushed decision by the JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) and the government.” https://hypebeast.com/2021/8/covid-19-beta-gamma-delta-super-covid-22-strain-news

So is “Covid-22” a new official term from the WHO or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or some other scientific organization? Is “Covid-22” even real?
Well, it seems like this “Covid-22” term emerged from what Sai Reddy, PhD, an Associate Professor of Systems and Synthetic Immunology at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, may have said. According to Vanessa Chalmers writing for The Sun, Reddy warned that a new variant could emerge in 2022 that could pose a “big risk.” The emphasis here is on the words “could” and “could” because we are not in 2022 yet, not unless Reddy has a time machine.
Reportedly, he referred to this possibility as “Covid-22” by saying: “Covid-22 could get worse than what we are witnessing now.” Apparently, he used the term “Covid-21” when referring to the Delta variant when speaking to the a German publication called Blick. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2021/08/24/why-is-covid-22-trending-on-twitter-here-are-misconceptions-about-coronavirus-variants/?sh=5dfd21985c45
The idea that a ‘mutation’ will be used to keep various COVID measures in place is not surprising. We have already seen that in many places, which have blamed the ‘Delta variant’ for keeping restrictions in place.

Of even greater concern is the COVID variant that has emerged out of South Africa. At the moment, confirmed cases of that variant have been identified in three different states…
The South Africa coronavirus variant has been identified in Virginia, the third state to report a B.1.351 variant case, according to Feb. 7 data from the CDC. Maryland and South Carolina have also reported cases of the variant, bringing the nation’s total to six known cases.
One of the reasons why the South African variant is causing so much concern is because vaccines appear to be of little use against it. …
Thomas Frieden, the former director of the CDC, says that “we need to come to the acceptance phase that our lives are not going to be the same”…
The ease with which the coronavirus spreads, the emergence of new strains and poor access to vaccines in large parts of the world mean Covid-19 could shift from a pandemic disease to an endemic one, implying lasting modifications to personal and societal behavior, epidemiologists say.
“Going through the five phases of grief, we need to come to the acceptance phase that our lives are not going to be the same,” said Thomas Frieden, former director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “I don’t think the world has really absorbed the fact that these are long-term changes.”
But what Frieden and other experts don’t seem to realize is that this COVID pandemic is not a worst case scenario.
Pandemics that are far, far worse are inevitably coming, and they will wipe out tens of millions of people.

As regular readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware, a much worse pandemic than COVID-19 is coming.
Jesus spoke of “pestilences” (Matthew 24:7) and more deaths from pestilences are prophesied:
7 When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. (Revelation 6:7-8)
Notice that the “beasts of the earth” will be responsible for massive amounts of deaths related to the ride of the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse (here is a link to our sermon: Fourth Horseman, COVID, and the Rise of the Beast of Revelation).
Because of the repeated, and often exaggerated, warnings about COVID-19, people around the world are wary of the lockdowns and other policies governments, schools, businesses, etc. have implemented. This is particularly so because some have also wanted to use COVID-19 as a reason to totally change society via something called “the Great Reset” (watch Will there be a “Great Reset”?).
But that does not mean that there is no risk of a more deadly pestilence.
There is an old story about the boy who cries wolf. Basically, it goes like this: A boy is tending sheep. He is bored. He decides to see what happens if he yells out, “Wolf, wolf.” People from the village come to assist, but there is no wolf and the boy laughs at them. They go away. Another day he does the same thing and gets the same result. But the next week, a real pack of wolves arrive. The boy screams out, “Wolf, wolf.” But this time, the people do not respond as they do not believe him. The wolves come and eat the boy and the sheep.
Why bring this up?
Various ones have been promoting fear the past 1 1/2 years related to COVID. Yet, although many have died with COVID, it appears that most who died were infirmed or elderly. The actual death rate for the healthy from COVID-19 was not especially high. Many public officials are losing credibility.
When a prophesied pandemic with a much higher death rate appears, many will not take it seriously enough.
But such a deadly pestilence will come per Revelation 6:7-8.
Worse pandemics than COVID-19 are coming.

COVID-19 Leading to 666? The novel coronavirus of Wuhan, China fame, is now called COVID-19. It has also been called the ‘Coronapocalypse.’ Does COVID-19 have any prophetic ramifications? Is COVID-19 worse than we have been told or could this all be a ‘false flag’ event to encourage people to move towards a cashless society? If the thousands of deaths associated with COVID-19 are pushing parts of the world towards cashlessness, how much more likely will the ride of the fourth horseman and over a billion human deaths motivate people to move to making electronic payments that can be monitored? The Bible tells of a soon coming society that controls buying and selling to force allegiance to a coming European Beast power, known as 666 (Revelation 13:16-18). Does the ‘great tribulation’ begin before ride of the fourth horseman or with the opening of the fifth seal of Revelation 6? Do the words of Jesus helps us better understand the sequence of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and the start of the Great Tribulation? Biological Warfare and Prophecy. Is biological warfare possible? Was it prophesied? Scientists have long warned that pathogenic organisms like the coronavirus could be weaponized. Furthermore, back in 2017, there were concerns that the biological research facility being constructed in Wuhan, China was risky and that a coronavirus from it could be released. On January 25, 2020, China’s President Xi Jinping publicly stated that the situation with the Wuhan-related strain of the coronavirus was grave. Did Church of God writers like the late evangelist Raymond McNair warn that engineered viruses (the “Doomsday bug”) were consistent with prophecies from Jesus? Did a warning from CCOG leader Bob Thiel warn about risks of genetically-modified (GMO) mosquitoes come to pass? Could human research and/or the consumption of biblically-unclean animals such as bats and snakes be a factor in current outbreaks or coming future pestilences? What about famines?
