The US is using Israel’s delay in launching a ground offensive in Gaza to rush defensive systems into the region amid growing fears that Iran and its proxies will escalate attacks on US forces and allied interests once the invasion begins, according to officials. The move to stiffen its security in the region and build up a sufficient defence capability to deter Iran comes after a dozen or so attacks on US troops since October 18 that have wounded two-dozen US personnel, officials said. Washington is girding for more as Israel prepares for its military assault on Gaza. The leader of Hizbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, met senior figures of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Lebanon on Wednesday. The three Tehran-backed groups “agreed to continue coordination” in pursuit of a “real victory for the resistance in Gaza and Palestine”. …
On Tuesday, a news agency close to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Hizbollah’s involvement in a war with Israel was now “likely”, and could use precision-guided missiles with a range capable of striking all of Israel. Iran-backed Shia groups have also reportedly moved from Iraq into western Syria near the Israeli border, raising alarm among US officials. The US’s Ain al-Asad base in western Iraq was targeted by rockets earlier this week as well as the Al Tanf garrison in Syria. The militia groups’ movements mark an ominous sign of escalation even before the US’s closest ally in the region launches an invasion of Hamas-controlled Gaza — a moment of vulnerability for the US and its partners, officials said. …
Officials assess Tehran feels it has much to gain from empowering, encouraging and publicly backing its proxies’ actions against Israel and the US, even if it does not become fully engaged in a conflict. US National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby recently told reporters
that the US knew Iran was behind the attacks by its proxies.
“We know that Iran is closely monitoring these events and, in some cases, actively facilitating these attacks and spurring on others who may want to exploit the conflict for their own good or for that of Iran,” said Kirby.

It is becoming clear that the U.S. is going to be heavily involved in the war in the Middle East, and it is becoming clear that this is going to mean a direct confrontation with Iran. Are you ready for that? Are any of us really ready for such an apocalyptic scenario? Hamas and Hezbollah wouldn’t be anything without funding and arms from Iran. So Iran is the “big dog” that is ultimately responsible for all of the terrorism. On the other side, the U.S. is the “big dog” that funds and supports Israel. In the end, it was probably inevitable that the two “big dogs” would tangle eventually. …
I was stunned to learn that French President Emmanuel Macron is interested in putting together an “international coalition” to fight Hamas…
French President Emmanuel Macron calls for the international coalition fighting the Islamic State group to be expanded to also fight Hamas after the October 7 assault on Israel.
Macron, speaking after talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, said that countries fighting ISIS “should also fight against Hamas.”
But I don’t think that it will happen.
I think that Europe will sit this one out, because I think that most western European nations would prefer to stay out of the war in the Middle East.
So it will be the U.S. and Israel on one side, and the Iranians and their proxies on the other.
And it won’t be pretty. …

While a direct conflict involving Iran and the USA will not be pretty, it also will not be WWIII.

Iran and Prophecy …
Despite its posturing and relative military strength, Iran will be somehow effectively neutralized (cf. Ezekiel 32:24). This could perhaps be from an attack involving Israel and/or internal civil unrest — this could also include electromagnetic (EMP) or similar weapons used against Iran (Jeremiah 49:34-39).
It is of prophetic interest to note that the small nation of Israel is prophesied to one day be attacked by some that seem to have connection to Iran and its ally Syria (Isaiah 22:1-14).
In January 2021, it was reported, “Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040, Iranian state media ISNA reported.” (Iran Parliament to debate bill calling for Israel’s destruction by 2040. i24news, January 6, 2021)
Iran may decide to strike out against Israel, and likely Jerusalem (cf. Isaiah 22:7-8) if it determines that it should. If it is frustrated with the Biden-Harris Administration policies or delays, that may very well be a factor in it taking prophesied military action.
Iran has weapons that can cause damage. Furthermore, the U.S.A. itself, as well as the State of Israel, are vulnerable to EMP type attacks and even items such as biological weapons, chemical weapons, terrorism, nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, etc. because of a conflict involving Iran, Syria, and/or others.
But should this attack occur, this would NOT be the final destruction of the U.S.A. Prophetically, Iran would not end up faring well (cf. Ezekiel 32:24-25). …
In the future, a Biden/Harris Administration may attempt to get Israel to accept the type of “peace deal” that Daniel 9:27 seems to refer to. This looks to be something to occur in the first term of the Biden/Harris Administration.
A confirmation of a particular deal with a time element in it by a European ‘prince’ will set the countdown for the rise of the Beast and the destructive Great Tribulation. …
As far as certain end-time events go, here is a brief semi-sequential summary of some items:
- The basic sequence is that certain sorrows, violence, and troubles will continue (Mark 13:7-8). This is happening.
- The ‘peace’ deal of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed. Deals have been proposed, but the biblical one has not yet been made nor confirmed. Because of prophecies related to the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1) and great damage to be done to Jerusalem (Isaiah 22:8-9), one or both of those events may well precede the deal of Daniel 9:27.
A King of the North (who was a ‘prince’ in Daniel 9:27) and a King of the South (Daniel 11:27) will arise. They will make a lying deal together (Daniel 11:27). …
The King of the North is discussed in Daniel 11. Now before he is called a “king,” this same leader is called a prince in Daniel 9:26.
Daniel 9:27 shows that this leader takes the same actions that the King of the North does in Daniel 11:31. This prince is foretold to come from the people who destroyed the temple sanctuary in Jerusalem. Since those that destroyed the second temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. were part of the Roman Empire, and that prince later is to come from those people, this shows that he is European.
Wars tend to precede peace deals, and Iranian frustration with the Biden-Harris Administration as well as internal problems and threats from Israel may well embolden Iran to attack Israel, consistent with prophecies in Isaiah 22.
As far as Iran itself goes, while it wants to lead all of Islam, it will fail in that objective — the Bible points to an Arabic power doing that in Daniel 11:40-43. Because of that, I have long felt that it may be that Iran would be ‘neutralized’ (cf. Jeremiah 49:34-38) before the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40) rises up.
As Iran’s leaders get desperate, they may likely directly lash out at the nation called Israel. Notice the following prophecy:
5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision — Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain. 6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots,And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. (Isaiah 22:5-9)
Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran. Kir is a reference to at least some in Syria as well as perhaps some who refer to themselves as Palestinian. The Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir. While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting. Some believe Kir is an area in the south of Iran, while others suggest closer to the Black Sea. The Bible tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria’s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1). This destruction might happen around the time Jerusalem experiences massive damage.
In Isaiah 22:8, “Judah” is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel–God will allow Israel to be attacked! In Isaiah 22:9, consider that “the damage to the city of David” is a reference to at least part of Jerusalem (cf. 2 Kings 9:28)–and notice that the damage will be great.
Israel’s famed ‘Iron Dome’ will NOT stop the coming great damage that will hit Jerusalem, despite Israeli confidence. Perhaps Syria will be involved to somehow reduce its effectiveness when it “uncovered the shield.”
If so, Israel will not like that and would be expected to retaliate (cf. Isaiah 17:1-4).
Now as Isaiah 22 shows, Israel could very well be damaged by Iran before the the Great Tribulation begins.

Iran and Israel Conflict
European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrel, has been brokering the nuclear negotiations involving Iran and said that he thinks the deal is “in danger.” Iran blames the United States, whereas the USA says they are not delaying it. Israeli sources stated that Israel will stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. Joe Biden says the USA would use its own military power to prevent Iran from getting such a bomb if need be. In 2021, Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040. Does the 22nd chapter of Isaiah point to damage coming to Israel from Iran and possibly Syria? Might Iran be concerned enough about limited progress with the USA to launch some type of attack? Is Iran the prophesied ‘King of the South’? Is it reasonable to think that the prophesied peace deal of Daniel 9:27 will not happen until after a military conflict. like a regional war? Should Christians watch the Middle East? Dr. Thiel and Steve Dupuie discuss these matters.

As far as various prophecies go, let me also state that it may take a major regional war for the coming temporal ‘peace deal’ of Daniel 9:27 to be ratified. Iran, Syria, the Palestinians/Gazans, and Israel may one day be in a major regional war in the future. The USA could also be affected.
