Iran’s government wants to triple military spending, whereas many in Iran want Donald Trump to win election against Kamala Harris
Al Jazerra reported the following:
Iran plans to increase military budget by 200 percent
Defence spending boost needs parliament nod, comes as Iran and Israel exchanged tit-for-tat missile strikes in October.
Iran plans to triple its military budget, a government spokeswoman has said, as tensions with rival Israel rise amid the Israeli military’s offensives in Gaza and Lebanon.
The planned defence budget increase is part of a proposal submitted by the government to parliament for approval, Fatemeh Mohajerani, the government spokeswoman, said on Tuesday. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/10/29/iran-plans-to-increase-military-budget-by-200-percent
Now, not everyone in Iran supports the increased militarization or its current government.
Deutsche Welle reported the following:
Why many in Iran want Donald Trump to win the US election
In the shadow of the conflict between Iran and Israel, many Iranians are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the US presidential election.
In both confidential and recorded conversations, as seen most recently in a CNN report from Tehran two weeks ago, many Iranians have said they would prefer to see Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump return to the White House.
Those asked said they see him as a strong leader who would be able to tackle problems. A victory for Democratic candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris, on the other hand, would mean a continuation of the status quo in US politics, in their view.
“Under the enormous pressure of a worsening economic crisis, many Iranians want fundamental change,” Iranian political journalist Fariba Pajooh told DW. “Quite a few of them see Donald Trump as someone who could end the political system of the Islamic Republic in Iran.”
“Trump’s statements are perceived selectively not only in the US but also in Iran,” Pajooh said. “Many Iranians believe he could topple the regime in Iran. Yet Trump repeatedly emphasizes that preventing an Iranian nuclear bomb is his top priority.” …
In September, Trump told reporters that the United States must reach an agreement with Iran to stop its nuclear program. In the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, however, Trump has spoken out in favor of an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
“Biden’s answer should have been: Target the nuclear facilities first and worry about the rest later,” he said at an election event in early October — directly contradicting the official line of his successor. …
“For a successful attack on all Iranian nuclear facilities, Israel would need the support of the US,” Sina Azodi, lecturer at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, told DW. …
Middle East peace?
What will happen after the US presidential election remains to be seen. “If Kamala Harris wins the election, her government will probably try to reach temporary agreements with Iran,” Azodi said.
In the past, Harris defended the nuclear agreement with Iran and considered it a significant achievement of the Obama presidency.
In her role as vice president, she has supported efforts to revive the agreement over the past four years. However, these attempts have been unsuccessful.
“If Donald Trump wins the election, he can achieve fundamental changes in US-Iranian relations,” Azodi said.
“He has the potential to unite all Iran critics in the Republican Party behind him to bring about a different agreement with Iran,” he added.
In an interview last week with Saudi state-owned broadcaster Al Arabiya, Trump said that if elected, he would include Iran in the Abraham Accords, along with at least a dozen other countries. 10/29/24 https://www.dw.com/en/iran-donald-trump-us-presidential-election-2024-nuclear-deal-israel-conflict-v2/a-70619129
Yes, many in Iran want a regime change.
They do not see that as likely from a Kamala Harris Administration, but consider it possible under a Donald Trump Administration for several reasons, including his perception as erratic and unpredictable.
Here are some things on that from my January 2017 book Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse:
The Washington Post reported in late 2016 that Donald Trump admired Richard Nixon. It also reported:
Donald Trump appears to have embraced, with gusto, Richard Nixon’s “Madman Theory” of foreign policy. He thinks he can use his reputation for unpredictability and lack of respect for long-standing international norms to unnerve and then intimidate America’s adversaries into making concessions that they would not otherwise make.[i]
Donald Trump’s foreign policy statements have unsettled many—in the U.S.A. as well as foreign nations. He seems like he will more unpredictable than Richard Nixon.
There is also something referred to as the “law of unintended consequences.” There are consequences for the U.S.A., Europe, and elsewhere that have and will occur because of Donald Trump’s statements and actions. …
Iran and Prophecy
Donald Trump has stated that he wants to eliminate or at least change the “nuclear deal” with Iran. [ii]
He also might be more willing than the Obama Administration to trigger enforcement provisions if he feels Iran has violated portions of the agreement.

Donald Trump did pull the US out of the nuclear deal with Iran and has been considered somewhat unpredictable in various ways.
Regarding Iran and the Biden-Harris Administration, here are some things from my January 2021 book Biden-Harris: Prophecies and Destruction:
Iran and Prophecy
Joe Biden wants to have the U.S.A. rejoin the nuclear deal with Iran that Donald Trump pulled the U.S.A. out of. [i] …
It is of prophetic interest to note that the small nation of Israel is prophesied to one day be attacked by some that seem to have connection to Iran and its ally Syria (Isaiah 22:1-14).
In January 2021, it was reported, “Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040, Iranian state media ISNA reported.” [ii]
Iran may decide to strike out against Israel, and likely Jerusalem (cf. Isaiah 22:7-8) if it determines that it should. If it is frustrated with the Biden-Harris Administration policies or delays, that may very well be a factor in it taking prophesied military action.

[ii] Erlanger S. Biden Wants to Rejoin Iran Nuclear Deal, but It Won’t Be Easy … New York Times, November 18, 2020
And basically, the Biden-Harris Administration took steps to rejoin the nuclear deal with Iran as it released billions of frozen funds to Iran. And Iran has launched attacks against Israel during the Biden-Harris Administration, but NOT the attack prophesied in Isaiah 22:6-8.
That attack will occur whether Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, or someone else is declared the winner of next week’s US presidential election.
Back in 2022, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put together the following Bible News Prophecy video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
Iran and Israel Conflict
European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrel, has been brokering the nuclear negotiations involving Iran and said that he thinks the deal is “in danger.” Iran blames the United States, whereas the USA says they are not delaying it. Israeli sources stated that Israel will stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. Joe Biden says the USA would use its own military power to prevent Iran from getting such a bomb if need be. In 2021, Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040. Does the 22nd chapter of Isaiah point to damage coming to Israel from Iran and possibly Syria? Might Iran be concerned enough about limited progress with the USA to launch some type of attack? Is Iran the prophesied ‘King of the South’? Is it reasonable to think that the prophesied peace deal of Daniel 9:27 will not happen until after a military conflict. like a regional war? Should Christians watch the Middle East? Dr. Thiel and Steve Dupuie discuss these matters.

Regarding Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the Continuing Church of God put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
Trump vs Harris vs Scripture
Are Donald Trump and Kamala Harris qualified to be President of the United States according to its Constitution? Does the adulterer Donald Trump’s record as a businessman who declared bankruptcy multiple times and who was once President of the USA make him the best choice? Does Kamala Harris’ political positions, one or more were related to adultery, and then later being Vice-President make her the best choice? What about their positions on adultery and LGBTQ matters? Do either of them meet the biblical requirements to be leaders? Could they both be evil? Should Christians put their faith in leaders or in Jesus and His Kingdom? Dr. Thiel and Steve Dupuie go over these points.
Here is a link to our video: Trump vs Harris vs Scripture.
Put your faith in Jesus and the coming Kingdom of God, not in US elections.
Biblical prophecies will be fulfilled, irrespective of who is the next president of the US.
