Islamic State slaughters more and threatens drones against Israel and USA

The group calling itself the Islamic State continues to slaughter and sometimes is getting slaughtered:

(Reuters) – Islamic State militants have executed Syrian army soldiers and are holding a group of them hostage after capturing an air base in northeast Syria at the weekend, pictures posted on the Internet and on Twitter by supporters showed on Wednesday.

Islamic State, an offshoot of al Qaeda, stormed Tabqa air base near Raqqa city on Sunday after days of fighting with the army that cost more than 500 lives, according to monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. …

Raqqa is a stronghold of Islamic State, and some people celebrated in the city after the capture of the air base.

ZURICH—Atrocities, including the use of chemical weapons, are being committed by the Syrian government forces, the extremist Islamic State group and other armed groups, causing immeasurable suffering among Syria’s civilian population, a United Nations report published Wednesday said.

The report, conducted by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry, said Syrian government forces used chemical agents, most likely chlorine, in western Syria on eight separate occasions in April and May. The use of chemical weapons is prohibited under international law and is a war crime.

A large influx of foreign fighters and the success of extremist groups, including the jihadist Islamic State, have contributed to the increasing in violence in Syria, the U.N. report said, adding there is a “palpable” risk of the conflict spreading.

The Islamic State has threatened to hit Israel and the USA using drones:

A member of the Islamic State (IS, formerly known as ISIS) has threatened that the organization would soon use unmanned drones to attack Israel.

The IS member, a Canadian who left his country to fight alongside the IS in the areas of Iraq and Syria it declared to be an Islamic Caliphate, claimed on Twitter that the group was developing these drones and that they would be unveiled in the near future.

He further said that engineers who studied in the West are working on the drones.

IS, he wrote, is expected to make use of these drones to attack targets in Baghdad, Kurdistan, Syria, “occupied Palestine” and the United States.

Is that possible? Well, Iran showed a drone looking like the one above after it essentially copied a USA one. Perhaps the Islamic State or some associated with it could do something similar. Notice also the following:

As the U.S. begins surveillance flights over Syria to track Sunni extremists who claim responsibility for beheading American journalist James Foley, there are mixed messages coming out of Washington over whether the Islamic State (IS) could attack U.S. soil.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel called IS, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an “imminent threat.” Republican Senator Lindsey Graham warned that the group is willing and able to “hit the homeland.” But are these threats overstated? And what should be done to thwart them?

“Increasingly, I have seen stronger relations between the al-Qaida affiliate al- Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) with ISIS,” said Max Abrahms , assistant professor of public policy and terrorist expert at Northeastern University.

AQAP may be a smaller group, he says, but they are much better at making bombs.

“AQAP have tried to bomb us numerous times, so the biggest fear, I think, is that ISIS is going to be influenced by a group like AQAP and then strike the West,” he said. http://www.voanews.com/content/us-eyes-islamic-state-threat/2428993.html

The USA and Israel could be affected by drone attacks. They could be significant if they carry nuclear warheads, nuclear waste (a so-called ‘dirty bomb,’ which has terroristic potential), or an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) bomb.

But if any drone were to hit the USA with any bomb, those in the USA would be alarmed. And this could trigger massive retaliation from the USA.

Terrorists have become the means by which some powerful nations, desiring to avoid unwanted escalation or public outcry, can punish their enemies at a relatively small cost.

These modern-day guns-for-hire also provide the same service for smaller nations that may fear a direct confrontation with a major power.

Worse terrorism happened since that came out.

While the Islamic State and/or other groups may or may not use drones, more terrorism will happen (Leviticus 26:14-17; Deuteronomy 32:25; Ezekiel 21:12; Proverbs 1:25-27).
