In 1st King’s Speech in 70 years, Charles says UK to address security matters, tackle antisemitism

7 November 2023

In the UK’s first King’s Speech to open parliament in over 70 years, King Charles says the government will address the most pressing security matters, including “the consequences of the barbaric acts of terrorism against the people of Israel, facilitating humanitarian support into Gaza and supporting the cause of peace and stability in the Middle East.”

He also says the UK government is “committed to tackling antisemitism.” https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-november-7-2023/

King Charles Has “No Pretence of Neutrality”, He Supports Israel.

November 7, 2023

King Charles issued a statement on the 11th of October through a Buckingham Palace spokesperson stating: “This is a situation His Majesty is extremely concerned about, and he has asked to be kept actively updated.” “His thoughts and prayers are with all of those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones, but also those actively involved. […]His Majesty is appalled by and condemns the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.” …

Within hours of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood commencing, King Charles viciously condemned Hamas, saying that he was “profoundly distressed” and “appalled” by the “horrors inflicted” by the group and its “barbaric acts of terrorism.” …

The Daily Telegraph has reported that behind the scenes, King Charles is “pushing for peace in the Middle East” using “soft power.” …

Come January 2020, with her health rapidly declining, Charles took on her official foreign visit responsibilities as de facto British head of state, and among his first ports of call was Israel. …

While on the trip, Charles declared it was his “dearest wish that the future will bring freedom, justice and equality to all Palestinians.” Yet, the details of his prior visits suggest this statement was not sincere. In 2016, while attending the funeral of Peres, he also visited the graves of his grandmother, Princess Alice, and her aunt, Grand Duchess Elisabeth, https://expose-news.com/2023/11/07/king-charles-has-no-pretence-of-neutrality-he-supports-israel/

While the second article is critical of Charles on this, the fact is that he has been supportive of Israel, but also has made statements supporting various Palestinian issues.

And yes, terrorism should be condemned.

That said, the second article mentioned that in 2016, then Prince Charles visited the grave of his grandmother Princess Alice of Battenberg. This brought to mind that Charles also had another, more distant relative called Princess Alice, who was also Countess of Athlone. Here is something from my free online book, Lost Tribes and Prophecies: What will happen to Australia, the British Isles, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and the United States of America?, that mentions the British Royal Family, Alice of Athlone, and the throne of David:

British Royal Family

Are there other biblical connections between the British Royal Family and the line of King David?

Yes.

When the wife of King James II, Mary/Margaret, was made Queen Consort, the ceremony in the mid-15th century tied her in with the wives of the Israeli patriarchs: Sarah (Abraham), Rebecca (Isaac), and Leah & Rachel (Jacob).[i]

In the early 17th century, Stuart King James I claimed to be the King of Israel.[ii]

In 1860 and 1881, Frederick Glover wrote about the connection between the children of Israel and the British. Later, he shared information with Queen Victoria. This was then reported in a New Zealand newspaper in 1902:

FRA Glover … was led into an examination of the Royal pedigree, … he sent her Majesty a letter …

The Queen’s answer … acknowledged … that she was already in possession of the facts of which he had spoken to her concerning her ancestral line.  …

This communication … led him to believe that the facts were actually accepted as genuine by the Royal Family – as true and authentic.[iii]

Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, was the last surviving granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Princess Alice was the main patron of the British-Israel-World Federation organization which formed in 1919. She attended the federation’s first Congress in July 1920, and remained a patron of the BIWF until her death in January 1981.[iv]

Furthermore, notice something that the then Duke of York, who later was King George VI of Great Britain from 11 December 1936 until his death on February 6, 1952, reportedly wrote in 1922:

… I am sure the British Israelite business is true. I have read a lot about it lately and everything no matter how large or small points to our being ‘the chosen race.’[v]

So, even a recent King of Great Britain believed in British-Israelism (though Ephraimites, per say, are not the chosen race—they are recipients of certain covenant blessings).

In ancient times, God had the prophet Samuel anoint David to be king with oil from Israel (1 Samuel 16:1,13). Notice now a part of the ceremony for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II back in 1953:

O Lord and heavenly Father, the exalter of the humble and the strength of thy chosen, who by anointing with Oil didst of old make and consecrate kings, priests, and prophets, to teach and govern thy people Israel: Bless and sanctify thy chosen servant ELIZABETH, who by our office and ministry is now to be anointed with this Oil, … And as Solomon was anointed king by Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet, so be thou anointed, blessed, and consecrated Queen over the Peoples, whom the Lord thy God hath given thee to rule and govern,[vi]

So, we see a tie in with governance, oil, Israel, David’s son Solomon and other biblical aspects. The ancient kings of Israel were anointed (1 Samuel 15:1; 1 Kings 1:34) with oil (1 Samuel 16:13). Scepters were long recognized in the Bible as a symbol for ruling (Genesis 49:10; Ezekiel 19:14) and one was given to the new Queen. Having all of these as part of a coronation ceremony may be more than a coincidence or simple imitation of what some saw in the Bible (some assert the basic ceremony originated with Bishop Dunstan of the 10th century, but it is difficult to know what was done earlier in Scotland or Ireland and if he had access to any related information).

Here is some of what was said when King Charles III was anointed with oil as part of his coronation on May 6, 2023:

Be your head anointed with holy oil, as kings, priests, and prophets were anointed. And as Solomon was anointed king by Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet, so may you be anointed, blessed, and consecrated King over the peoples, whom the Lord your God has given you to rule and govern …[vii]

Let it be added that Jerusalem was reportedly mentioned at least three times in his coronation ceremony.[viii] And that is where Solomon would have been anointed king.

Furthermore, the olive oil mixture to be used to anoint King Charles III was consecrated on the Mount of Olives which is adjacent to Jerusalem, and according to Justin Welby (the Archbishop of Canterbury), “ancient kings through to the present day, monarchs have been anointed with oil from this sacred place.” [ix] While those “ancient kings” referred to may only go back to Crusader times, it is possible that some anointing oil was originally brought to Ireland by Jeremiah and, in time, others decided to replenish it with an olive oil mixture from Jerusalem.

Have any in the current Royal Family believed in British Israelism?

Well, as it turns out, a longtime colleague of mine (who asked not to have his name in this book because it could impact his relationship with the Royal Family), told me on April 6, 2022, that decades ago, then Prince Charles privately told him that “he believed that the British royalty was part of the line of David, but would never say this in public or print” and that Charles seemed to know a lot about the British-Israelite matter.

So, it may be that one of the reasons that King Charles is supportive of Israel is that he believes he is sitting on the throne of David of Israel.

Of course, not everyone supports Israel.

There have been massive protests around the world, and one of the chants many have said is, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

While many consider that to be antisemitic, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib took a different public view as the tweet at the beginning of this post shows.

But that tweet has generated controversy. Here is a report related to her and that expression:

‘From the river to the sea’: What to know about the pro-Palestinian slogan that’s roiling American politics

November 7, 2023

  • Rep. Rashida Tlaib is facing condemnation for endorsing the phrase “from the river to the sea.”
  • Some people argue it’s antisemitic and genocidal, while it has a different resonance for others.
  • For many Palestinians, it’s about a shared struggle for equality in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

At pro-Palestinian protests and in activist spaces, it’s a rather common refrain, referring to the entirety of the land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea — land that includes Israel, the occupied West Bank, and Gaza.

But some Israelis and Jewish people argue that the phrase has a far more sinister meaning, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s defense of the term is generating significant controversy for the Michigan Democrat within her own party. …

Tlaib’s use of the term has spurred other Democrats — particularly Jewish Democrats — to criticize their colleague in strong terms.

“This is so hurtful to so many,” Michigan’s attorney general, Dana Nessel, wrote on X. “Please retract this cruel and hateful remark.” …

Rep. Brad Schneider of Illinois, a Jewish Democrat, is said to be circulating a letter condemning Tlaib’s remarks, and Punchbowl News reported that Republicans might try (again) to censure her because of them.

How Jewish people view the phrase

Some Jewish people believe that the slogan is antisemitic and even genocidal, arguing that it implies the dismantling of the state of Israel as a Jewish ethnostate.

They also point to the fact that organizations such as Hamas have employed the phrase as well.

“It is fundamentally a call for a Palestinian state extending from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, territory that includes the State of Israel, which would mean the dismantling of the Jewish state,” says the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil-rights organization with a strong pro-Israel bent. “It is an antisemitic charge denying the Jewish right to self-determination, including through the removal of Jews from their ancestral homeland.”

Similarly, the American Jewish Committee argues that there is “nothing antisemitic about advocating for Palestinians to have their own state” but that “calling for the elimination of the Jewish state,” as it says the slogan does, is antisemitic.

The origins of the slogan

As the Palestinian American scholar Maha Nassar wrote in the Jewish publication Forward in 2018, the slogan gained traction among Palestinians in the 1960s as they sought a single secular, democratic state extending across the entirety of the land historically known as Palestine, which includes both Israel and the Palestinian territories.

That was the line taken by the Palestine Liberation Organization upon its founding by Yasser Arafat in 1964.

In other words, the slogan did originate as a call for the dismantling of Israel as a Jewish state. …

Hamas, a political and militant group that has governed Gaza since 2007 and is widely designated as a terrorist organization by Western countries, uses the phrase in its 2017 charter.

“Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea,” article 20 of the charter says. https://www.aol.com/news/river-sea-know-pro-palestine-203843298.html

Notice something from one of Hamas’ earlier official founding documents:

THE COVENANT OF THE HAMAS – MAIN POINTS . . .

Goals of the HAMAS:
——————
‘The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.’ (Article 6)

On the Destruction of Israel:
—————————–
‘Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.’ (Preamble)

Here are excerpts from its later, 2017, charter or list of goals:

Preamble

Palestine is the land of the Arab Palestinian people, from it they originate, to it they adhere and belong, and about it they reach out and communicate. …

Palestine is a land that was seized by a racist, anti-human and colonial Zionist project that was founded on a false promise (the Balfour Declaration), on recognition of a usurping entity and on imposing a fait accompli by force. …

The movement

1. The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” is a Palestinian Islamic national liberation and resistance movement. Its goal is to liberate Palestine and confront the Zionist project. Its frame of reference is Islam, which determines its principles, objectives and means.

The Land of Palestine

2. Palestine, which extends from the River Jordan in the east to the Mediterranean in the west and from Ras al-Naqurah in the north to Umm al-Rashrash in the south, is an integral territorial unit. It is the land and the home of the Palestinian people. ..

3. Palestine is an Arab Islamic land. It is a blessed sacred land that has a special place in the heart of every Arab and every Muslim. …

10. Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine. Its religious, historic and civilisational status is fundamental to the Arabs, Muslims and the world at large. Its Islamic and Christian holy places belong exclusively to the Palestinian people and to the Arab and Islamic Ummah. Not one stone of Jerusalem can be surrendered or relinquished. The measures undertaken by the occupiers in Jerusalem, such as Judaisation, settlement building, and establishing facts on the ground are fundamentally null and void. …

17. Hamas rejects the persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds. Hamas is of the view that the Jewish problem, anti-Semitism and the persecution of the Jews are phenomena fundamentally linked to European history and not to the history of the Arabs and the Muslims or to their heritage. The Zionist movement, which was able with the help of Western powers to occupy Palestine, is the most dangerous form of settlement occupation which has already disappeared from much of the world and must disappear from Palestine.

18. The following are considered null and void: the Balfour Declaration, the British Mandate Document, the UN Palestine Partition Resolution, and whatever resolutions and measures that derive from them or are similar to them. The establishment of “Israel” is entirely illegal and contravenes the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and goes against their will and the will of the Ummah; it is also in violation of human rights that are guaranteed by international conventions, foremost among them is the right to self-determination.

19. There shall be no recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity. Whatever has befallen the land of Palestine in terms of occupation, settlement building, judaisation or changes to its features or falsification of facts is illegitimate. Rights never lapse.

20. Hamas believes that no part of the land of Palestine shall be compromised or conceded, irrespective of the causes, the circumstances and the pressures and no matter how long the occupation lasts. Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea. …

27. A real state of Palestine is a state that has been liberated. There is no alternative to a fully sovereign Palestinian State on the entire national Palestinian soil, with Jerusalem as its capital.  05/02/17 https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/hamas-2017-document-full accessed 11/07/23

Hamas has not changed its objectives. It wants Israel gone and Jews out of the area (though that does not mean that it will not be open to some type of a temporary or timed withdrawal or peace deal).

When protesters chant “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”–which has been going on a lot lately–that is a Hamas adopted slogan that means that the area from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean Sea is to be Palestinian and not Israeli. These protesters want no Jewish dominance in the land.

Now, it is not just some Muslims and certain pro-Palestinian protesters that have issues with the Jews.

As Hamas rightly says (see its point #17 above), antisemitism has long been a problem in Europe.

A major reason for antisemitism in Europe has been that various ones who falsely have claimed to be “Christians” have advocated it.

Of course, no real Christian would have done that (or at least would have repented if he/she sinned that way). Instead many who have claimed Christ have caused “the way of truth” to be blasphemed (2 Peter 2:2).

The Apostle Paul makes the following statement about real and not real Christians:

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. (Romans 8:9)

The antisemitic persecutors throughout history were NOT real Christians.

If we start with the pagan Roman Emperor Constantine in the fourth century (who is considered as an Eastern Orthodox saint), we note that he stated:

Let us then have nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd; for we have received from our Saviour a different way. (Eusebius’ Life of Constantine, Book III chapter 18)

The way that Jesus, who was Jewish, taught differently was love. Jesus never taught to have ‘nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd.’ Roman Catholics refer to Constantine as ‘Constantine the Great,’ but he obviously held antisemitic views.

Around 332, Constantine issued what is known as the Edict Against the Heretics which included persecution against Christians who held to the original faith and had practices such as the date of Passover on the 14th, the same as the Jews who used the scriptures (see also Persecutions by Church and State). Constantine was opposed to that which is part of why he made his “detestable Jewish crowd” statement.

But it was not just him.

Constantine’s declarations and various councils did not stop everyone from properly observing Passover or keeping other Christian practices. So, a later Roman Emperor decreed the death penalty related to proper Passover observance:

Edicts of Theodosius against the heretics, A.D. 380-394 … Theodosius … decreed that … by the death of the offender; and the same capital punishment was inflicted on the Audians, or Quartodecimans, who should dare to perpetrate the atrocious crime of celebrating on an improper day the festival …

The theory of persecution was established by Theodosius, whose justice and piety have been applauded by the saints (Gibbon E. Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Volume III, Chapter XXVII. ca. 1776-1788).

Is killing those that followed the example of Jesus and John, to observe the Passover on the 14th instead of Sunday, a sign of a true Christian leader or a sign of a supporter of antichrist? How could any true saint applaud Theodosius for killing people who followed Jesus’, John’s, Polycarp’s, etc. example of observing Passover on the biblical date?

On the night of His final Passover, Jesus declared:

2 … the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. (John 16:2).

And those who followed the Emperor Theodosius fulfilled that prophecy–they killed people for keeping Passover the same night that Jesus did. Those who will associate the final Imperial European leader in the end times are apparently prophesied to do the same thing (Daniel 7:25).

Jesus also taught:

20 If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also (John 15:20).

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:9-14)

Sadly, many of those who claim to be Christian do not keep Jesus’ word, have persecuted in the past, and will persecute in the future. Many do not want to have the good news of the Kingdom of God promoted–but it will happen despite persecutions.

Consider also that in 387, the Eastern Orthodox saint and bishop John Chrysostom preached the following type of hateful persecution:

The festivals of the pitiful and miserable Jews are soon to march upon us one after the other and in quick succession: the feast of Trumpets, the feast of Tabernacles, the fasts. There are many in our ranks who say they think as we do. Yet some of these are going to watch the festivals and others will join the Jews in keeping their feasts and observing their fasts. I wish to drive this perverse custom from the Church right now … If the Jewish ceremonies are venerable and great, ours are lies … Does God hate their festivals and do you share in them? He did not say this or that festival, but all of them together. (John Chrysostom. Homily I Against the Jews I:5;VI:5;VII:2. Preached at Antioch, Syria in the Fall of 387 AD. Medieval Sourcebook: Saint John Chrysostom (c.347-407) : Eight Homilies Against the Jews. Fordham University. http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/source/chrysostom-jews6.html 12/10/05).

So, he opposed those who kept biblical holy days. It is God’s Holy Days that scripture points to being “great” (cf. John 7:37; see also Should You Keep God’s Holy Days or Demonic Holidays?).

John Chrysostom also preached the following in his Homily Against the Jews (of which there are at least eight antisemitic homilies):

But do not be surprised that I called the Jews pitiable. They really are pitiable and miserable (I:II:1).

So the godlessness of the Jews and the pagans is on a par. But the Jews practice a deceit which is more dangerous (I:VI:4).

Do you see that demons dwell in their souls and that these demons are more dangerous than the ones of old? (I:VI:7).

Since it is against the Jews that I wish to draw up my battle line, let me extend my instruction further. Let me show that, by fasting now, the Jews dishonor the law and trample underfoot God’s commands because they are always doing everything contrary to his decrees. When God wished them to fast, they got fat and flabby (VI:IV:2).

Indeed, the fasting of the Jews, which is more disgraceful than any drunkenness, is over and gone (VIII:I:5).

John Chrysostom is considered to be a major Roman Catholic saint. He is one of the four ‘doctors of the church’ who is shown supporting a large black chair that is called the Cathedra Petri (Chair of Peter) in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. The late Joseph Tkach of the old Worldwide Church of God once referred to this chair as Satan’s throne (see Might Satan’s throne be the ‘Cathedra Petri’?).

The Protestant publication calling itself Christianity Today once had a link titled, “Person of the Week: John Chrysostom” which went to an article titled: John Chrysostom Early church’s greatest preacher. So, many Protestants too, endorse an antisemite. More on him can be found in the article John Chrysostom, Bishop of Constantinople and Antisemite.

It perhaps should be pointed out that sometimes those in the true Church of God have been considered to be secretly Jews by some in Greco-Roman faiths:

In the Middle Ages, the Popes and the Councils were successful in destroying the Jewish revolutionary movements which appeared within Christianity in the form of false teaching and which were introduced by those who were Christians in appearance but Jews in secret. The latter then recruited upright and good Christians for the arising heretical movement by persuading the latter in a crafty way.

The secret Jews organised and controlled in secret manner the movements, which were the creative and driving force of wicked false teachings, such as those of the Iconoclasts, the Cathars, the Patarines, the Albigensians, the Hussites, the Alumbrados and others. (Pinay, Maurice. The Plot Against the Church, Part Four Chapter One. Translated from the German and Spanish editions of the same work. 1962)

The above book is still recommended, by and for, many Roman Catholics (though some others distance themselves from it). Hence, some of the Greco-Romans have considered some of whom we in the Continuing Church of God include in our tracing of our spiritual ancestors (like some of the Cathars and Albigenses) to have been a secret Jewish group that only professed Christ (see also Beliefs of the Original Catholic Church: Could a remnant group have continuing apostolic succession?).

As far as Protestant leaders themselves with antisemitic views, one can notice some of the teachings of Martin Luther, who wrote in the 16th century:

My heart is fuller of these thoughts than my tongue can tell. I have come to the conclusion that the Jews will always curse and blaspheme God as all the prophets have predicted. He who neither reads nor understands this, as yet knows no theology, in my opinion. And so I presume the men of Cologne cannot understand the Scripture, because it is necessary that such things take place to fulfill prophecy. If they are trying to stop the Jews blaspheming, they are working to prove the Bible and God liars (“Martin Luther’s to George Spalatin,” from Luther’s Correspondence and Other Contemporan, Letters, trans. by P. Smith (1913), Vol. 1, pp. 28-29).

Furthermore he wrote:

I had made up my mind to write no more either about the Jews or against them. But since I learned that those miserable and accursed people do not cease to lure to themselves even us, that is, the Christians, I have published this little book, so that I might be found among those who opposed such poisonous activities of the Jews and who warned the Christians to be on their guard against them…They are so blind and stupid that they see neither the words found in Genesis 17 nor the whole of Scripture, which mightily and explicitly condemns this lie…They are real liars and bloodhounds who have not only continually perverted and falsified all of Scripture with their mendacious glosses from the beginning until the present day. Their heart’s most ardent sighing and yearning and hoping is set on the day on which they can deal with us Gentiles as they did with the Gentiles in Persia at the time of Esther…The worse a Jew is, the more arrogant he is, solely because he is a Jew — that is, a person descended from Abraham’s seed, circumcised, and under the law of Moses. David and other pious Jews were not as conceited as the present-day, incorrigible Jews…I wanted to present this to us Germans so that we might see what rascals the blind Jews are and how powerfully the truth of God in our midst stands with us and against them (Medieval Sourcebook: Martin Luther (1483-1546): On the Jews and Their Lies, 1543)

Martin Luther advised his followers:

…to burn down Jewish schools and synagogues, and to throw pitch and sulphur into the flames; to destroy their homes; to confiscate their ready money in gold and silver; to take from them their sacred books, even the whole Bible; and if that did not help matters, to hunt them of the country like mad dogs (Luther’s Works, vol. Xx, pp. 2230-2632 as quoted in Stoddard JL. Rebuilding a Lost Faith, 1922, p.99).

Accordingly, it must and dare not be considered a trifling matter but a most serious one to seek counsel against this and to save our souls from the Jews, that is, from the devil and from eternal death. My advice, as I said earlier, is: First, that their synagogues be burned down, and that all who are able toss in sulphur and pitch (Martin Luther (1483-1546): On the Jews and Their Lies, 1543 as quoted from Luther’s Works, Volume 47: The Christian in Society IV, (Philadelphia: Fortress Press, 1971). pp 268293).

Leaders esteemed by the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics, and Protestants have all advocated horrible antisemitism. They were NOT real Christians. Regarding their beliefs, check out the free online books
Beliefs of the Original Catholic Church: Could a remnant group have continuing apostolic succession? and Hope of Salvation: How the Continuing Church of God Differs from Protestantism.

Many people hate others, and the Jews tend to be one of the more hated groups. But that is not how people are to live.

Notice something that God had Moses record:

18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. (Leviticus 19:18)

It is not just Jews that are hated or will be in the future. Throughout history, true Christians have sometimes been called “Jews” and have been subject to persecution supposedly directed towards Jews. True Christians also had to suffer through the so-called Inquisition, which utilized torture against those that had Church of God beliefs–and more is expected in the future (see Persecutions by Church and State). Protestant leaders have also promoted antisemitism and Church of God persecution (see The Similarities and Dissimilarities between Martin Luther and Herbert W. Armstrong) and Eastern Orthodox (see John Chrysostom, Bishop of Constantinople and Antisemite).

It is not just physical, ethnic Jews that are at risk–spiritual ones are as well (cf. Romans 2:28-29; John 15:20; see also The Spanish Inquisition and Early Protestant Persecutions).

It is also a historical fact that the early Christian church was considered a sect of the Jews by the Roman authorities. It was not considered to even be a separate religion for a time.

Sadly, in the future, we will see more persecution against those who hold to the original faith and practices that many today consider Jewish.

Anyway, we continue to see conflict in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Pray:

3 Jerusalem is built
As a city that is compact together,
4 Where the tribes go up,
The tribes of the Lord,
To the Testimony of Israel,
To give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.  (Psalms 122:3-6)

9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.  (Matthew 6:9-13)
