London’s mayor claims that UK will prosper greatly outside of EU

The major of London thinks that Britain will have a great future outside the European Union:

Boris Johnson has said the UK has a “great, great future” outside the EU if it doesn’t secure the reform it needs.

The London Mayor said his preference was to remain part of a reformed EU but is waiting to see the outcome of David Cameron’s current renegotiation.

He said: “If we can’t get the reform we need Britain has a great, great future elsewhere and outside.”

Asked if he could campaign on the opposite side to the prime minister, he said “let’s see what happens”.

Mr Cameron is currently in Germany as he continues his efforts to renegotiate aspects of the UK’s relations with the EU. Once the renegotiation is complete he will hold a referendum of whether or not the UK should stay in the European Union. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35247504

British Prime Minister David Cameron promised a referendum, that could come in 2016 or by the end 2017 (see UK’s David Cameron hints of EU referendum in 2016; Nigel Farage still popular within UKIP) to give citizens of the UK the ability to vote on whether or not to remain part of the European Union.

David Cameron is currently trying to make EU changes so that those in the UK will vote to stay in the EU:

BUDAPEST, Hungary — British Prime Minister David Cameron sought to push forward his campaign for changes to the European Union during a visit to Germany and Hungary on Thursday, arguing that his proposals would benefit the bloc as well as the U.K.

Cameron was in the Alps for a meeting of the Christian Social Union, the Bavaria-only sister party to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives. He also met Merkel at the gathering Wednesday evening.

Cameron has committed to holding a referendum on Britain’s EU membership by the end of 2017. Before that, he is seeking a new deal for Britain, most controversially including welfare limits for other EU nationals intended to control migration.

He hopes to seal a deal at an EU summit next month and hold the referendum later this year.

“I’m confident with goodwill — and there is goodwill, I think, on all sides — we can bring these negotiations to a conclusion and then hold the referendum,” Cameron said after meeting with the CSU’s lawmakers. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/01/07/world/europe/ap-eu-britain-eu.html?_r=0

There is a political party in his nation called the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), that essentially was formed to get the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.

While Boris Johnson is not a member of UKIP (he is a member of the Conservative Party), his sentiments seem to be getting closer to some of those in UKIP. UKIP claims that the UK would do better, or at least no worse, if it exits the European Union.

The idea of the UK leaving the EU is sometimes called a Brexit (also it has been called a Brixit). Brexit is short for BRitish EXIT (Brixit is short for BRItish exIT) from the European Union.

Whether or not it votes to remain in the EU, London Mayor Johnson is in error. Without national repentance soon, the UK does not have a “great, great future” ahead.

Europe will change and reorganize per Revelation17:12-13 (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?). This will not end up well for the United Kingdom (nor the United States).

There will be a type of dictatorial ‘United States of Europe.’

When Europe was still recovering from being devastated in World War II, after attending a conference related to the start of the UN, in the December 1948 issue of The Plain Truth Herbert W. Armstrong predicted a coming “United States of Europe” when he wrote:

It was the SERMON that shot forth that spark, impregnating the minds of world leaders in attendance. This amazing sermon was delivered by a foremost radio speaker of the Catholic Church, Bishop Duane G. Hunt of Salt Lake City…Without the guidance, supervision, authority of the Catholic Church, he told these men, they were laboring in vain…

This was the Roman Catholic bid to resurrect the so-called “HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE” ! And PROPHECY says they will succeed!…At the psychological time, the pope will step in… Thru this political movement, he will UNIFY…nations in Europe. It will be a “The UNITED STATES OF EUROPE,” but that probably will never become its official name. (Armstrong HW. Now It Can Be Told…The Plain Truth,December 1948, pp. 2,5).

In 1965, the late Herbert W. Armstrong wrote:

…European countries urgently want political union, the very UNITED STATES OF EUROPE I have been assuring PLAIN TRUTH readers for 31 years is definitely coming. It will unite them into a giant third World Power…

There is a definite German “Kultur! There is a French culture that is in many respects quite different. Then there is a still different Italian culture, a Spanish culture, a Scandinavian culture, a Swiss culture–and all are different! European nations speak different languages, have different aspirations, different customs, different traditions. Europe is often called a “crazy-quilt” of nations.

HOW, THEN, CAN THEY AGREE TOGETHER AND UNITE? For years The PLAIN TRUTH has said these nations are going to have to realize their inability to unite themselves politically-to choose a common political-military Leader that all can trust. They are going to finally face the fact they must look to a Supreme Authority they can all trust! That Supreme Authority cannot be a politician, or a general (De Gaulle is both). The only possible answer is a Religious Leader! (Armstrong HW. Personal. Plain Truth, November 1965, pp.1-2)

Notice something from 1971 from the late evangelist Raymond McNair:

Bible prophecy clearly shows that Britain will not be one of the … NATIONS comprising the final United States of Europe (McNair R. A Strong United Europe. Tomorrow’s World, February 1970, p. 17).

Back in 1971, the old WCG had the following in an article titled Rising World Colossus by Gene Hogberg:

Envision the startling future of Western Europe… A “United States of Europe” possessing one single currency – a currency so strong that it will replace the U.S. dollar as the kingpin currency of world trade.

The Europeans do have their own currency, and while it has not yet replaced the dollar, the time will come when the world will NOT keep the US dollar as its primary reserve currency.

On June 26, 2007, (see Tony Blair a Catholic EU Leader?), I posted the following:

We in the COGs tend to believe that the final beast power will be nominally Catholic (see Europa and the Beast of Revelation)…we in the COGs do believe that Britain will pull out of the EU…

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not be an equal part of the European Union. Britain will either pull out or be forced out or at least truly lose its sovereignty. The Bible indicates that the end time descendants of the Israelite tribes, because of their national sins, will be taken over and many killed.

Many of the Anglo-Saxon peoples of the UK, USA, etc. that are not killed will be scattered and many will be made slaves by the final European Beast power(see Hosea 7:11-16; 9:1-17; 11:5-7; 12:1; 13:12-16; see also Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?). That is some of what the Bible shows will happen during the Great Tribulation.

The Bible warns of a time of trouble for the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic nations (Jeremiah 30:7).

The final European King of the North (Daniel 11:27-40) will take over the UK, USA, and their Anglo-Saxon allies according to Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-11).

The coming referendum in the UK could be a step towards the UK’s departure and increased animosity with the continental Europeans.

Yet, whether it is called a Brixit or a Brexit, in some way, some day, the United Kingdom will exit.

Many in the UK suspect that Europe is moving towards a direction that they will not like.

But, the reality is that it will be worse for the UK, and the USA for that matter, than nearly everyone currently believes.
