NATO, Europe, Ukraine, and USA concerned about Russia: A secret plan?

NATO met today to announce it plans to increase its strength because of Russia:

BRUSSELS— NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance was set Thursday to strengthen its defenses near Russia’s borders in response to Moscow’s “aggressive actions” in Ukraine.
Stoltenberg said defense ministers meeting in the Belgian capital plan to boost the size of the NATO response force from 13,000 to 30,000. They will also likely approve the establishment of a new rapid-response force of about 5,000 troops, he said.
U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is attending the Brussels meeting. Vice President Joe Biden also is expected in Brussels later this week, before heading to Munich for security conference where Ukraine is also to be discussed.
NATO defense ministers also will discuss nuclear issues, the conflict in Ukraine, the threat of Russian aggression near NATO’s eastern border, and Georgia’s aspirations to join the 28-member alliance. http://www.voanews.com/content/nuclear-issues-russia-ukraine-on-nato-agenda/2629744.html
As regular readers of this page are aware, I have been writing that the situation with Ukraine would be a factor in Europe increasing its military. The NATO announcement is consistent with that.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is in Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, while the leaders of France and Germany announced they are also heading to Ukraine with a new peace proposal.
Ahead of Kerry’s arrival, a senior State Department official announced the U.S. is providing Kyiv with an additional $16.4 million in aid to help civilians affected by fighting between Ukraine’s military and pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine.
The official also said the U.S. continues to evaluate whether to provide “defensive lethal weapons” to Ukraine, but he said there were concerns whether Ukrainian forces had adequate training to handle such equipment. …
French President Francois Hollande said Thursday he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Ukraine to present a “new solution to the conflict based on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
Hollande and Merkel will discuss the plan with Poroshenko before heading to Moscow for talks with Russian leaders, the French leader said.

(Bloomberg) — Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande head to Moscow Friday to meet Vladimir Putin in a bid to stop the conflict in Ukraine from spiraling out of control.
The German and French leaders will stop over in Kiev Thursday to discuss a “new initiative” to resolve the 10-month crisis with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who met U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry this afternoon. They’ll then head to Russia, which Merkel hasn’t visited since 2013. …
The contents of the Hollande-Merkel plan are being kept secret. A French official said new sanctions aren’t currently on the agenda, though can’t be ruled out and stressed the mission to Moscow has a political rather than economic agenda. …
Merkel and Putin’s face-to-face efforts to solve the Ukrainian crisis have yielded little fruit to date. Their relationship hit a low in Brisbane, Australia, last year when she pointed to a map showing locations around Europe’s eastern rim that she viewed as possible or actually targets of Russian meddling, according to a meeting participant who asked not to be named because the talks were private.
Weapons Question
Putin insisted the German chancellor had it wrong, saying he’s encircled by U.S.-led powers and isn’t seeking expansion, the person who attended the meeting said.
Russia hopes for a deal on Ukraine when Putin meets Merkel and Hollande, Kremlin foreign-policy aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters Thursday. …

So, the USA is interested in possibly supplying weapons to Ukraine, but Angela Merkel publicly does not support that. It would seem that Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande hope to persuade Vladimir Putin it is in his and Russia’s interest to cooperate with the EU so that the USA will not be as involved in the region.
There was a ‘secret deal’ between Germany and Russia prior to the start of World War II. And while I do not consider that the expected meeting of Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande, and Vladimir Putin will be in that type of detail, it may help set the stage for another deal later that will lead to World War III. While the upcoming meeting is supposed to be primarily political, and not economic, the reality is that economic and political considerations are involved.
“German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that the European Union would be open to talks towards the launch of free trade negotiations with the new Eurasian Economic Union” (see Merkel’s European-Eurasian Trade Zone Proposal). Vladimir Putin does want recognition of his new Eurasian Economic Union, and since he has greater concerns about the USA than the EU, presumably the EU leaders will attempt to persuade him that they are not trying to encircle Russia and that they really want cooperation with Russia in order to help break the hegemony that the USA currently has.
Europe is heavily involved with trying to resolve the situation between Russia and Ukraine. Europe wants Ukraine as part of its European Union, while it also wants to get along with Russia and lift sanctions. But many simply do not realize how bad Russia wants Ukraine. Kiev was once the capital of Russia.
Russia does not want any containment and has long been concerned that Ukraine might become part of NATO. The reality is that NATO members are supplying information and money to Ukraine and Russia is supplying information and money to separatists in eastern Ukraine. The USA, despite its denials, wants Russia contained.
The Bible shows, that for a time, there will be cooperation between Russia and Europe and that the USA will be destroyed (Daniel 11:39). The Bible ultimately shows that Russia will turn against Europe (Daniel 11:44-45; Jeremiah 50:41-43; 51:11; Isaiah 13:1-8) before Jesus returns.
