Netanyahu in UN: Blasts Islamic State, Hamas, and Iran, but what will happen in Israel?

Israel’s Prime Minister spoke at the United Nations today:

UNITED NATIONS—Israel’s prime minister urged the international community not to allow Iran to develop its nuclear capabilities, and tied the Jewish state’s fight against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip to the larger global fight against Islamic State militants.

Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu said militant Islam is on the march all over the world. He warned that groups, such as Islamic State, seek global domination.

He criticized countries who have supported U.S.-led efforts to crush ISIS, as the group is also known, for not supporting Israel in its own recent 50-day war against Hamas militants who indiscriminately fire rockets into Israel from Gaza.

“They evidently don’t understand that ISIS and Hamas are branches of the same poisonous tree,” he said. “ISIS and Hamas share a fanatical creed, which they both seek to impose well beyond the territory under their control.”

Netanyahu also urged the international community not to sign a nuclear deal with Iran allowing it continue enriching some uranium.

“Make no mistake, ISIS must be defeated,” he said. “But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear power is to win the battle and lose the war.”

He warned that once Iran has the capacity to produce nuclear bombs, all the charms and smiles of the Iranian leadership will quickly disappear. Netanyahu closed his speech with words of hope for peace with the Palestinians and suggested support from leaders of all Middle Eastern countries could help in those efforts.

With people like the Israeli Prime Minister publicly pushing for “Arab states’ to play roles in dealing with Iran and the Palestinians, he seems to be opening the door for a confederation of Arab states to form. The USA and others have also been doing this. The Bible says it will happen (Daniel 11:40-43), and the end result will not be good for Israel (Psalm 83:3-8), the USA (Daniel 11:39), nor the Arabs (Daniel 11:40-43).

Iran has not fully dismantled its nuclear projects and many believe it is still making progress towards the goal of having nuclear weapons. The USA and others hope that is not the case, but are less enthusiastic than Prime Minister Netanyahu about taking direct military action. It remains a possibility that military action involving Iran will play a result in the prophesied destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1) as well as the ‘peace deal’ of Daniel 9:27 (see The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).

As far as the Islamic State goes, much of the world is united against it, and it will not be as it currently is. But there are still political considerations. The USA is dropping bombs in Syria, but Turkey who does not want a separate Kurdish nation is not as supportive as the USA prefers, which also affects how much the USA helps the Kurds.

As far as Hamas goes, Hamas and Israel do not get along. Bible prophecy tells of calamity coming to Gaza and other lands:

17 Then I took the cup from the Lord’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the Lord had sent me: 18 Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day; 19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people; 20 all the mixed multitude, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines (namely, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod); 21 Edom, Moab, and the people of Ammon; 22 all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the sea; 23 Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who are in the farthest corners; 24 all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the mixed multitude who dwell in the desert; 25 all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes; 26 all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. Also the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

27 “Therefore you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Drink, be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”‘ 28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “You shall certainly drink! 29 For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’ (Jeremiah 25:17-29)

Many of the lands above are listed as supporters of the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43) and/or part of a confederation that will be destroyed that will involve Egypt (Ezekiel 30:3-8). Some of those lands, Ashkelon (located 50 kilometres south of Tel Aviv, and 13 kilometres north of the border with the Gaza Strip), Ekron (modern Tel Miqne, which is 35 kilometers west of Jerusalem), and Ashdod (located 32 kilometres south of Tel Aviv, 20 km north of Ashkelon, and 53 km west of Jerusalem.), are currently dominated by the nation of Israel. This indicates change coming to Israel, as well as Gaza/Palestine.

I would like to add that, biblical prophecy teaches that the Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank will support confederations which will not end well in this age. They will, for a time, believe that they will be protected by a temporary ‘peace deal’ (Daniel 9:27), yet that will not end well (Daniel 11:11:31, 40-43) according to biblical, and even Islamic prophecy (see also The Arab and Islamic World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy), this will not end well for those in Gaza.

That being said, Prime Minister Netanyahu will not ultimately end up in this age with what he hopes for Israel. But since all the scriptures I cited are found in the Hebrew scriptures, one would think that since he has access to them, he might be able to figure this out for himself.

The military actions by coalitions, with or without the United Nations, will not solve humanities ills. That will take the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
