Non-conservative media says Google not biased, but former employee delivered 950 pages to US Department of Justice claiming otherwise

Is Google biased?

Non-conservative media outlets say no. Here are a couple of examples:

I feel like we need to repost this on a near weekly basis, but there are two big myths that keep making the rounds over and over and over again, so they need to be repeatedly debunked. First, it’s the idea that internet companies are “censoring” conservatives. And, yes, I know that we’re going to get some angry commenters pinky swearing that it’s true, and calling me all sorts of creative names for not being willing to admit it, but it remains true that there has been absolutely no evidence shown to support that premise. President Donald Trump shared a Fox News clip featuring Kevin Cernekee, a former Google engineer who claims he was fired for being conservative, saying that when Trump was elected in 2016, Google executives said they would use their power “to control the flow of information to the public and make sure that Trump loses in 2020.”

The president continued his Twitter tirade by saying that Google is using biased search results to make him lose the 2020 elections. …

Jim Jansen, a computer science professor at Pennsylvania State University, told Recode. “Google’s position generally has been not to mess with organic search results to avoid this type of criticism,” he said, adding that Google has no incentive to display a bias against conservative news.

Some former Google employee disagree. And more than that, one former Google employee recently provided documentation to the US Department of Justice about it:

A former Google insider claiming the company created algorithms to hide its political bias within artificial intelligence platforms – in effect targeting particular words, phrases and contexts to promote, alter, reference or manipulate perceptions of Internet content – delivered roughly 950 pages of documents to the Department of Justice’s Antitrust division Friday.

The former Google insider, who has already spoken in to the nonprofit organization Project Veritas, met with SaraACarter.com on several occasions last week. He was interviewed in silhouette, to conceal his identity, in group’s latest film, which they say exposes bias inside the social media platform.

Several weeks prior, the insider mailed a laptop to the DOJ containing the same information delivered on Friday, they said. …

Google CEO Sundar Pichai told the House Judiciary Committee in December, 2018, that the search engine was not biased against conservatives. Pichai explained what algorithm’s are said Google’s algorithm was not offensive to conservatives because its artificial intelligence does not operate in that manner. He told lawmakers, “things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it” are what drives the search results. Pichai said even if his programmers were anti-Republican, the process is so intricate that the artificial intelligence could not be manipulated and it was to complicated to train the algorithm to fit their bias.

Google did not immediately respond for comment on the insider’s claims, however, this story will be updated if comment is provided.

There are bias issues in Google’s algorithms.

Basically, this means that Google’s employees have programmed its search software with terms that it does not want users to easily find.

So, instead of the most actually relevant items showing up first, they may end up on the 20th Google search page–and few people regularly go past even the first page of a search–so the information, while there is not really seen.

This is a form of shadow banning, and Google, as well as its affiliate company YouTube, have done this.

Social media companies, like Facebook, sometimes use another form of shadow banning:

What is a shadowbanning?

The currency of social networks is attention. A shadowban, in theory, curtails the ways in which that attention may be earned without blocking a user’s ability to post new messages or carry out typical actions on a network. Shadowbanned users are not told that they have been affected. They can continue to post messages, add new followers and comment on or reply to other posts. But their messages may not appear in the feed, their replies may be suppressed and they may not show up in searches for their usernames. Notice the following about Google that came out last October:

Is the world’s largest search engine really free? And, if not, are its users? An 85-page document leaked to Breitbart argued that in order to prevent certain political events, tech companies would have to start censoring web content.

[UPDATE, 12:40PM ET: MRC President Brent Bozell has responded to this report: “This story confirms our worst fear. Contrary to Google’s public statements and what they have said to us in private discussions, Google is in the censorship business and apparently the lying business as well. We’re going to be meeting with our coalition partners immediately and we will announce next moves very soon.”]

The internal company briefing, titled, “The Good Censor,” told how the “utopian narrative” of the online world was being destroyed by users, governments, and even tech companies. The report partially blamed the adoption of an American concept of free speech by tech companies. “This free speech ideal was instilled in the DNA of the Silicon Valley startups that now control the majority of our online conversations,” the document stated.

Google’s analysis explained how a shift from that American free speech policy toward one that is more in line with the European tradition: promoting civility, dignity, and editing. The precise wording is that the European method is “favoring dignity over liberty and civility over freedom.” According to the document, Google wants a new role as a “editor and publisher” of the content that provides civility and dignity. …

The censorship and bias of ‘big tech’ is becoming more and more prevalent.

But notice that the Google memo is encouraging the adoption of a European model of censorship as opposed to an American model of freedom of speech and the press, and claimed freedom of religion.

And whether or not it is called “conservative bias,” quoting various parts of the Bible are not viewed favorably by people in many governments and internet companies.

Hence there is a bias.

The Bible shows that more restrictions are coming.

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. And that would seem to be because truth from it will be taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is accessed by people in every country, and thus some type of internet restriction/suspension/site removal is coming.

While places like Facebook and Google are helping set the stage for this, the Bible shows that a European power will arise and essentially force people to accept a particular, and false, leader.

The Bible shows that the devil will give power and authority to the coming European Beast and those whose names are not written in the Book of Life will worship that Beast:

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.

2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.

4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.

6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.

7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.

8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:1-8)

Notice that people will be pressured with economic threats and death for not accepting this European leader:

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.

12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,

17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:11-18)

It will take computer technology, most likely including artificial intelligence, for things such as buying and selling to be controlled (watch also Artificial Intelligence and Prophecy).

Places like Google should not be pushing for following the European model. But Google, Facebook, and others are pushing for the ability of the 666 Beast to censor.

The ‘European model’ will not end well for the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses) nor even for Europe itself (Daniel 11:44-45; see also Europa, the Beast, and Revelation).

More censorship is coming. A totalitarian police state is also coming (Revelation 13).

That is part of why we in the Continuing Church of God are preparing for the ‘short work’ (Romans 9:28) and the coming ‘famine of the word.’

In time, the ‘famine of word’ will hit.

But despite the involvement of computer companies essentially encouraging that, Jesus’ message of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God will reach the world as a witness as is prophesied as well in Matthew 24:14.
