Obama’s Health Care Passed, Watch Out for More Debt
Democrats last night, such as California’s Nancy Pelosi explained why the “founding fathers” of the USA would have been pleased witha “health care reform bill”, while Republicans took the opposite position. After they debated, US President Barack Obama’s health care reform bill passed last night. Here are two news items related to it:

There will be benefits to some and “unintended consequences” for the majority of Americans. Here in Southern California it is likely that health care premiums will go up as Anthem-Blue Cross (one of the largest health insurers here) already had proposed major premium increases. But forcing insurers to take those that they would otherwise turn away (which the new bill purportedly will do) will increase costs even more.
Barack Obama’s legacy will involve more than what is being called “health care reform”. One aspect of his legacy will be the increase in the national debt of the USA (see Obama’s Economic Stimulus, $14.3 trillion debt, and disaster for the USA). And despite claims from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last night that the bill will save over a trillion dollars, it is quite likely that the bill just approved (and with the changes that will ultimately happen by and after it is implemented) will strain the USA’s finances even further.
There is no doubt that some people will benefit from the bill just passed. But it is quite reasonable to believe that it will increase the debt of the USA. The “unintended consequences” of that will prove to be disastrous.
