The above official tweet from Joe Biden is odd for a few reasons, including the fact that it was addressed to “My fellow Democrats” as opposed to “My fellow Americans,” which is more traditional and much less partisan.

Why They Forced Biden Off The Ticket

It’s worth noting why we thought Biden would stay on the top of the ticket, to help understand what happened over the weekend. We based our bet on two facts:

1. The DNC rules committee was stacked with Biden loyalists, …
2. Joe Biden (and especially Jill Biden) had nothing to gain from Joe not running for reelection. Power is addictive, and a ~33% chance of winning in November was better than a 0% chance. …

Nevertheless, Biden dropped out of the race. Why?

The Official Explanation

The closest thing we got to an official explanation was this anonymously-sourced piece by Politico,

The gist of which was this:

Steve Ricchetti, who’s been with Biden since his days in the Senate, drove to see the president at his house on the Delaware shore on Friday. Mike Donilon arrived on Saturday. The two men, both of whom had been by Biden’s side during key decisions about whether to seek the presidency in 2016 and 2020, sat at a distance from the president, still testing positive for Covid, and presented damning new information in a meeting that would hasten the end of Biden’s political career.

In addition to presenting new concerns from lawmakers and updates on a fundraising operation that had slowed considerably, they carried the campaign’s own polls, which came back this week and showed his path to victory in November was gone, according to five people familiar with the matter, who, like others interviewed for this article, were granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. Biden asked several questions during the exchange.

Why The Official Explanation Doesn’t Pass The Smell Test

The problem with this explanation is that Harris doesn’t poll much better than Biden against Trump. In fact, if you include minor party candidates, she actually polls worse against Trump. Trump was leading Biden by 3.7% in the RealClearPolitics average,

The Real Reasons They Wanted Biden Out

Obviously, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who were pressuring Biden to drop out of the race knew about these polls. They knew that Kamala Harris doesn’t give them a much better chance of beating Trump in November than Biden did. But there are still three reasons why they probably think they’re better off with Harris than Biden:

1. The turnout effect down ballot. Kamala can at least campaign actively, and Dems probably think they’ll get better turnout for Congressional and other races with her at the top of the ticket than Biden.
2. Campaign donations.  …
3. Clearing the decks for 2028. Had Biden stayed at the top of the ticket this year and lost, and Democrats tried to nominate anyone other than a black woman in 2028, black women (the Democrats’ most loyal voting demographic) would have protested that Kamala had been passed over. By letting her run this year, they won’t have that problem in 2028. If she loses to Trump-Vance, Democrat leaders can point out they already tried running a black woman at the top of the ticket last time, and now they need to focus on winning.

1. What We Still Don’t Know

   We know why it made sense for Dems to get rid of Biden, but what we still don’t know is how they convinced the Bidens to give up the ghost.

   • Did they threaten to expose Biden corruption, or to go along with Republican efforts to prosecute the Bidens in a second Trump administration?
   • Did they promise the Bidens some sort of payoff for Joe dropping out?
   • Does Joe Biden even know he dropped out of the race?

As I posted yesterday (see ZH: Biden Drops Out Of 2024 Race But Will Remain Through Term; Endorses Harris As Resignation Calls Grow), Joe Biden should have dropped out long ago and actually should have resigned long ago because of his mental lapses and cognitive deterioration.

The Democratic Party wanted Joe Biden out as many of its leaders concluded having him in the race hurt them personally. That is the basic real reason. It was not because of real concerns for Joe Biden or his health.

Politics is a lot more selfish than many seem to believe.

“Meanwhile, the Democrats can’t wait to get rid of Biden. They’re preparing to tell him he has to step down or at least announce he’s not running. This will clear the way for Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Jay Pritzker or one of the other pretenders. … DNC rules may have to be heavily revised since it is likely that Biden will control a large share of the delegates if this substitution process occurs late in the primary season. There may be other elements in the bargain, including an agreed pardon for the Biden family by Harris (similar to the Ford-Nixon pardon). Is Michelle Obama about to make an entrance into the 2024 presidential race?

A statement by former President Barack Obama reacting to Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race Sunday is raising eyebrows, as Barack is not endorsing Biden’s new pick for commander in chief, Kamala Harris.

“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” Barack Obama said. “But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.” …

There still can be changes in who will be the actual candidate for the Democrats. Yet, barring assassinations or something, the Republican ticket is officially set with Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.

The Book of Daniel has the following:

17 ‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers,
And the sentence by the word of the holy ones,
In order that the living may know
That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men,
Gives it to whomever He will,
And sets over it the lowest of men.’ (Daniel 4:17)

There are or will be elections taking place in something like 50 countries in 2024. Yet, Christians know that we should pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3), and God will decide who they should be.

Should Christians Vote in 2024?

There are elections in over 50 nations scheduled for 2024. How old is democracy? Does the Bible sanction it? Do people often act like they want to be deceived? Are there men on the ballots that meet the Bible’s criteria for leaders? How does the Bible show that leaders are to be put in place? Is the lesser of two evils still evil? Does the Bible teach that, “the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men in Daniel 4:17? Could someone vote against God’s plan? Do people know more than a prophet of God when it comes to choosing leaders? Are there truly pro-voting scriptures in the Bible? Are God’s people to support a crowd in doing evil? Will voting change the coming destruction that the Bible prophesies? Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel go over these matters.

As far as the USA itself goes, the handwriting is on the wall for its coming end.

American Democratic or Republican politicians are not what the USA needs.

The USA needs repentance, the return of Jesus, and the coming Kingdom of God.
