Biden’s White House Tells Facebook What to Censor

August 2, 2021

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced on July 15 that the American government is instructing Facebook to remove certain posts from its platform. Speaking about the government’s response to covid-19, she said the White House is “flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation.”

Psaki defined “health misinformation” as “false, inaccurate or misleading information about health, according to the best evidence at the time.”

“[T]oday we live in a world where misinformation poses an imminent and insidious threat to our nation’s health,” she said. “[T]he truth is that misinformation takes away our freedom to make informed decisions about our health and the health of our loved ones.”

Psaki called for an “all-of-society approach to fight misinformation.”

The United States government is pressuring a private company that claims to not be responsible for what its users write and telling it what to ban from its platform.

Psaki continued:

Facebook needs to move more quickly to remove harmful, violative posts—posts that will be within their policies for removal often remain up for days. That’s too long. The information spreads too quickly.

Not only is the government telling Facebook what it can and cannot display, it’s even chiding the company for not going after “violative posts” quickly enough.

The Biden administration isn’t the only arm of the U.S. government involved in this. So is the Senate. Sen. Amy Klobuchar introduced the Health Misinformation Act to the Senate on July 22. The proposed bill would make an exemption to the Communications Decency Act, which gives online platforms legal immunity from problematic content their users upload. The exemption would be regarding “misinformation and disinformation” regarding the covid-19 pandemic. While I have major issues with PCG, it is correct that this is a problem.

Much of the censorship that is happening and is being proposed, in my opinion, is a clear violation of the first amendment of the US Constitution, which states:

First amendment — Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Despite what that amendment says, the USA has had real problems with federal courts as they have ruled against speech as well as religious freedom.

Let me also add that I saw the US Surgeon General on the news a couple of days ago decrying misinformation about COVID including misinformation about treatments.

Furthermore, it is also my opinion that MISINFORMATION from the US government–including its Surgeon General, along with its allies in Big Tech and the biased media. caused unnecessary deaths and suffering.

The Office of Surgeon General failed to tell people what to do to help their immune systems (as well as contradicted itself about masks). Here is some information the US Surgeon General neglected to tell people (and no, the following is not a complete list, but a fairly basic one):

Since it is the official position of the US Government that people should consume two or more servings of fruit and three or more servings of vegetables each day, the US Surgeon General should have promoted this to strengthen immune systems.
Since scientists knew that vitamin C was good for immune response against viruses, particularly respiratory ones, the Surgeon General should have at least suggested that American eat more fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C.
Since for at least 11 years scientists have known that zinc is effective against the replication of at least some coronaviruses, the Surgeon General should have advised at least to consume foods high in zinc like pumpkin seeds or 100% food nutrient supplements which provide zinc.
The Surgeon General should have opposed the closing of parks and beached and advised getting proper sunlight exposure for vitamin D, which helps the immune system.
The Surgeon General should have opposed the closing of gymnasiums and told people that regular exercising could help them if exposed to the coronavirus.
The Surgeon General should have looked into the science related to herbs and viruses and encouraged the use of certain ones as either immune supporting and/or part of treatment protocols.
The Surgeon General should have stated early on that to support immune response, people who were overweight should strive to lose weight.
The Surgeon General should have stated early on that lockdowns along with the consumption of junk food was not the way to deal with COVID-19.

Sadly, various ones in the government and Big Tech considered the truth about some of the above ‘dangerous.’

Facebook pulled one of my posts (which had at least 3 dozen scientific references) because its ‘experts’ did not want the truth out, and suggested it was dangerous. FWIW, I successfully treated dozens diagnosed with COVID-19 with nutrients and herbs. (Why only dozens? Because of my CCOG work, I basically stopped taking new patients and dramatically reduced the patient aspect of my business as it takes a lot of time).

Suppression of most treatments, other than vaccines, has been pushed.

The USA is supposed to stand for freedom of speech and the press, according to the first amendment to its constitution.

But no more.

The government, including the CDC and Office of Surgeon General, should NOT have essentially promoted fear as the way to deal with COVID-19. This approach not only resulted in massive economic damage, it also hurt the mental health of many and seems also to have been a factor in suicide rates–plus this led to fairly totalitarian policies.

With digital surveillance and electronic financial transactions, more and more governments are watching more and more. And in the case of the USA, Big Tech is surveilling and judging.

In his book 1984, the society George Orwell also warned about had surveillance cameras all over and they recognized individual people. What is starting to happen now is actually more widespread than his book warned about. There will be even more surveillance than George Orwell anticipated.

The old Worldwide Church of God once, correctly, taught that the reason that the Philadelphian work of God was based out of the USA was because it was the nation that most valued freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Notice something it published about that back in 1981:

THE MOST important work in the world cannot be done without freedom of the press!

What is that work?

It is the work of announcing that God will restore His Government to the whole earth! But before the Government of God is restored, it must first be announced! The good news of that announcement — the Gospel of the Kingdom of God — must be preached (Matthew 24:14) to all nations (Matthew 28:19). And the nations must choose whether they will want it or resist it.

In this day, God has made the MASS media available to accomplish His work. But reaching a mass audience with the good news of God’s soon-coming Government requires the freedom to PUBLISH. Notice Mark 13:10: “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” …

Governmental Reaction

And yet while the Bible places a duty on God’s servants, it also warns that this world — even now and in the future — will not always allow the freedom to publish.

In the past a government’s excuse for persecution was that God’s message IS TOO DISTURBING to be allowed to circulate freely. …

For the future, the Bible prophecy reveals that the time will come when most of this world’s nations will be led by Satan to abolish freedom of the press — and all related freedoms. Why? To prevent any publishing of God’s message from reaching any substantial number of people!

`Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it” (Amos 8:11-12).

Elsewhere the Bible reveals how this prophesied press clampdown will take place. Revelation 13 describes a great religious-civil power that will arise in the place of the old Roman Empire. This prophesied power will not allow free speech, a free press or the free exercise of any religion — except the official religion of the state.

Why Free Press Important

The Gospel is the good news of a government that will REPLACE the governments of this world. Yet replace is a mild word! The prophet Daniel flatly declares that the Government of God will “break in pieces and consume” the nations of this world that resist Him (Daniel 2:44).

The Gospel of the Kingdom of God proclaims that there is a higher power than human government, another and divine government to whom men, whether they know it or not, ultimately owe allegiance. For this reason early Christians were accused of doing “contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus” (Acts 17:7).

No wonder the governments of this world have historically sought to suppress the publishing of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God — for it is ultimately the news of their overthrow by Christ at His return! …

Even if false ideas circulate under freedom of the press, at least God’s Word will also be able to go out unhindered.

Free societies pay a very high price for freedom of the press — pornography circulates freely because human courts say they can’t really tell the difference between pornography and other kinds of writing or expression. This is a very high price — but at least it does insure the free circulation of God’s truth, as well as other religious ideas.

If you grant human government the authority to censor what is printed or spoken, you allow the government to stop any message it doesn’t approve of.

Government tried to suppress Elijah, Amos and Jeremiah; it is prophesied to suppress God’s true Gospel again in the future. The power to censor bad writing easily becomes the power to suppress good writing.

There is a reason why God began, and based, his end-time work in the country on earth where freedom of the press is greatest — and why God’s Church has grown the most, as a rule, in countries where press freedom is substantial. Since the spreading of God’s Word is the most important activity on earth — the preservation of freedom of the press is one of the most awesome responsibilities God lays on human government. The Philadelphia portion of the Church of God did begin in the USA and its most faithful remnant is still based out of the USA.

But now, in the USA as well as outside of it, we are seeing more and more calls for restrictions and censorship.

It originally was that only those that advocated terrorism, physical violence, or pedophilia were censored by Big Tech. Now they are even moving against “concealed discrimination”–as well as many aspects of biblical doctrine.

More and more publicly despise the word of God and do not want it, as well as certain prophecies within it, taught.

Isaiah was inspired to record the following:

8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:

9 That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the Lord; 10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. 11 Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us.”

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
“Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)

There are severe consequences prophesied against those that despise the word of God and the type of censorship that the government of the USA and others are working towards.

Furthermore, the Bible prophesies a time when a ‘famine of the word’ is coming (Amos 8:11-12, see also Preparing for the ‘Short Work’ and The Famine of the Word). We are getting closer to that.

Truly, as the Apostle Paul wrote, “evil men and impostors” have grown “worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).

The ONLY real hope for humanity is the return of Jesus and the good news of the coming Kingdom of God.
