PCG’s Callum Wood posted the following at its Trumpet site related to Iran today:

Iran Undermines Nuke Deal, Yet Funds Released Anyway

April 23, 2014

The United States released $1 billion worth of frozen Iranian funds in the month of April. According to the Joint Plan struck in Geneva on November 24 between Iran and the P5+1 nations, Iran is being rewarded with cash over the course of six months as it proves it is making determined steps toward dismantling its nuclear program.

The cash released in April came in two lump sums. The first batch of $550 million was released on April 10, and the final $450 million was released on April 15. Although these funds should indicate Iran is complying implicitly with the Geneva deal, they actually are an excellent example of America’s tiptoeing relationship with the Iranian regime.

The funds reveal America’s policy of “don’t provoke/don’t upset.”…

Unable to restrain the Persian stallion, the U.S. is offering carrots to keep it placated. If it stops offering carrots, and nothing will stop the horse from bolting. And Iran will bolt if the financial incentive is removed.

I have repeatedly warned that the deal that the USA made with Iran seems to give Iran benefits at little cost (see Iran makes nuclear deal that Obama praises: Israel and Saudi Arabia are not pleased and Various analysts say that Iran ‘won’ in the nuclear talks and Iran remains defiant and some see the USA caving to its demands).

After the deal was announced on 11/24/13, I wrote a post that stated:

US President Obama mentioned that some validly have concerns about Iran, despite the deal it agreed to. And that is correct. What this deal really does is give Iran some economic relief and time to upgrade its technology, while it agrees to get rid of some of its underdeveloped nuclear waste and centrifuges. This, in theory at least, will give Iran more money and more time to work on its nuclear technology, and at some point it time, it will likely not allow (officially or surreptitiously) inspectors to see some of what will be its newer, more advanced nuclear capacity. So, far this deal appears to be (carnally-speaking) a good deal for Iran. However, in the long-run, Iran will likely suffer for decisions it will make, at least partially because of this deal. That being said, parts of this deal put the USA itself at risk for terrorist attacks from ‘dirty bombs’ (bombs that have radioactive components) and possibly nuclear bombs in the future.

Iran is not truly placated. The top leadership of Iran has a Shi’ite Muslim agenda, which they have concluded includes causing chaos and war. I, for one, do not believe that Iran’s leaders have given up on their goals of Islamic domination.

PCG teaches that Iran will be the final King of the South of biblical prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43). Yet Iran, which is basically due east of Jerusalem, is not in the correct geographic location nor does have the ethnic composition that the Bible shows that the King of the South will have–the Bible lists Arabic peoples with limited Turkish support, and even less of the peoples from Iran.

My reading and re-reading of Bible prophecy simply does not show that Iran will be a major player in Daniel 11:21-44 nor the deal of Psalm 83:4-8 (Arabs, Turks, and Europeans are); though Ezekiel 30:1-9 possibly implicates Iran. Since Iran does not seem to be identified as the leader in those particular passages, and Iran has a loud voice in the Islamic world now, those facts have somewhat led me to conclude that Iran will somehow be “neutralized.” This neutralization may be from a regional war, internal war, economic pressure, and/or internal change.

Notice the following prophecy which indicates destruction for at least a part of Iran (some of Elam is believed to be in Iran):

34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:

‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam,
The foremost of their might.
36 Against Elam I will bring the four winds
From the four quarters of heaven,
And scatter them toward all those winds;
There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go.
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies
And before those who seek their life.
I will bring disaster upon them,
My fierce anger,’ says the Lord;
‘And I will send the sword after them
Until I have consumed them.
38 I will set My throne in Elam,
And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord. (Jeremiah 49:34-39)

“Neutralizing” Iran would allow most of the other Islamic states (like Saudi Arabia and Egypt) to continue to exist (Syria might not do well per Isaiah 17:1) and allow for the rising of the prophesied King of the South to rise up.

The top leadership of Iran has a Shi’ite Muslim agenda, which they have concluded includes causing chaos and war. I, for one, do not believe that Iran’s leaders have given up on their goals of Islamic domination. But if they significantly act militarily on this (cf. Isaiah 22:1-14), it ultimately will not turn our well for Iran (e.g. Jeremiah 49:34-38).
