Peter Schiff: The United States economy is about to crash
CNBC reported the following:
The United States economy is about to crash and it will take the dollar and the American standard of living with it. Peter Schiff, who currently serves as the CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, says it is time to prepare for the global market crash in light of the recent downturn. …
According to Schiff, the US national currency is set to meet with the worst losses along with the American standard of living. Although the Trump administration is to blame for the trade war that is already wreaking havoc on American’s wallets, Schiff says thepolitical crisis about to follow will be much worse.
“So, what you’ve got to do is get out of U.S. dollar assets. The dollar is going to be the biggest casualty along with the American standard of living,” he said, adding that foreign stock markets, especially emerging markets, currently depressed by the strong dollar would see a strong rise. “They are going to see a boom when the dollar weakens,” Schiff said.
The U.S. household debt, which is about $15 trillion, represents a crucial issue for the standard of living in the country. “Everybody is loaded up with debt, and it’s not like we began this monetary experiment without much debt. We had a lot of debt in 2008. In fact, the financial crisis was about debt, it was about our inability to pay the debt that we had,” Schiff said.
“But instead of addressing the problem and allowing the debt to be paid down, the Federal Reserve led us down the primrose path into much deeper debt by keeping interest rates at zero and holding them for so long. The Federal Reserve actually encouraged an overly indebted nation to borrow even more money,” Schiff said of the Fed’s terrifying response to the recession in 2008. But now, interest rate hikes are only going to destroy the economy which is barely hanging on.
“So, everybody is loaded up with debt. And guess what? Interest rates are now finally rising, and that means the cost of servicing that debt is going up, and this is going [to] be a problem just like adjustable rate mortgage was a big problem in 2008, when these things were resetting,” he said.
“People couldn’t afford to pay. Well, the same thing is going to happen on a national scale. Rates are growing up, and we are too broke to pay.”

It is true that one cannot escape the inevitable and that the US dollar will one day crash.
Peter Schiff mentioned a resetting that happened in 2008. As I reported yesterday (see ‘Another Day Older and Deeper in Debt’ — Reset coming in 2020 or later?), some feel a major resetting will happen in the 2020s.
Peter Schiff, however, was referring to what I would consider to be a relatively minor crash.
Yet, it is the total destruction of the economy of the USA because of debt that is truly inevitable. Such a matter was prophesied:
2 And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.4 “Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith.5 “Moreover, wine is a traitor,
an arrogant man who is never at rest.
His greed is as wide as Sheol;
like death he has never enough.
He gathers for himself all nations
and collects as his own all peoples.”6 Shall not all these take up their taunt against him, with scoffing and riddles for him, and say,
“Woe to him who heaps up what is not his own—
for how long?—
and loads himself with pledges!”
7 Will not your debtors suddenly arise,
and those awake who will make you tremble?
Then you will be spoil for them.
8 Because you have plundered many nations,
all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder you,
for the blood of man and violence to the earth,
to cities and all who dwell in them. (Habakkuk 2:2-8; English Standard Version)
The USA is the most indebted nation in the history of humanity.
Notice that God tells Habakkuk that those who read this should run–that means they should take proper spiritual action now (cf. Luke 21:36), and then, eventually physically flee (cf. Revelation 12:14-16; see also There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Near Petra). The rise of US debt was listed by me as number 10 of 18 items to prophetically watch in 2018 (here is a link to a related sermon: 18 items to prophetically watch in 2018).
The Anglo-American world order will come to an end.
Those who think the current world order with the USA’s dollar on top will last several decades are in error.
The idea that the debt does not matter is a false and arrogant belief.
The Bible teaches:
18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
It is prideful arrogance that gets humans to think that they can essentially completely control the economy and just borrow and print up money. They cannot. Weather, political events, diseases, wars, morality, technology, and other factors play a role.
Plus, there is also the matter of debt accumulation by the USA and biblical prophecy.
Those who will believe the Bible will take the words that God spoke to the prophet Habakkuk seriously.
Notice that God says that the situation is so serious that one should run–take steps now, and flee when it is time (cf. There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Near Petra).
As far as having a debt reset in the USA, in 2016 candidate Donald Trump seemed to call for that. Notice some items in my book Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse:
Donald Trump loves debt. Here something he said about it in 2016:
I’m the king of debt. I love debt. (Egan M. Donald Trump: ‘I’m the king of debt.’ CNN, May 7, 2016) …
Donald Trump also said:
I have borrowed, knowing that you can pay back with discounts. And I have done very well with debt. Now, of course, I was swashbuckling, and it did well for me and it was good for me and all that. …
Now we’re in a different situation with a country, but I would borrow knowing that if the economy crashed you could make a deal. And if the economy was good it was good so therefore you can’t lose. …
I don’t want to renegotiate the bonds, but I think you can do discounting. … I’m not even suggesting that we don’t borrow money at very low rates long term so we don’t have to worry about when they come due. Nobody knows debt better than me. I’ve made a fortune by using debt and if things don’t work out, I renegotiate the debt. Well, you go back and you say, ‘hey, guess what? The economy just crashed. I’m going to give you back half. (“Trump recession”? Presumptive GOP nominee fires back at Clinton. CBS, June 22, 2016)
It sounds like Donald Trump believes that debt is good and there is nothing wrong with defaulting or otherwise not intending to pay the total debt back.
The Bible says the wicked have that attitude:
21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives. (Psalms 37:21)
Donald Trump has also filed for bankruptcy four times (Egan M. Donald Trump: ‘I’m the king of debt.’ CNN, May 7, 2016)—presumably to not pay back debt, while he claims a financial worth around $10 billion.
He may consider that to be ‘good business,’ but his practices and intents sound biblically immoral. (Thiel B. Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse. Nazarene Books, 2017)
Now it is not just Donald Trump. The Federal Reserve, many politicians, and many in the mainstream press seem to love debt.
The dollar still remains the world’s primary reserve currency.
It will remain so for some time.
The USA is taking risks and one day its dollar will not be the world’s reserve currency.
This could happen with a combination of multi-national cooperation, natural and/or man-made disasters, and increasing USA debt.
The USA ‘benefits’ in many ways by having the world’s predominant reserve currency:
the United States derives certain benefits by virtue of its control over the reserve currency. The first of these is that the value of the currency is higher than it would otherwise be based solely on the country’s fundamentals. The fact that oil-importing nations are essentially forced to purchase U.S. dollars to acquire oil allows the United States to export its inflation, keeping domestic rates low. It also increases foreign demand for U.S. Treasuries above where it would otherwise be as oil-exporting nations seek a home for the sizable quantities of U.S. dollars that they have from the sale of oil. This allows the United States to borrow more money and at lower rates than it otherwise could. As the U.S. dollar’s dominance in the oil trade declines, we can expect both of these benefits to disappear. While both effects would have an adverse impact on the American economy, the declining demand for its debt may be more devastating. … Over the past few months, we have seen more moves by the nations of China and Russia to reduce the current dominance of the U.S. dollar in the global financial system. As this process plays out, the United States will begin to lose the benefit that the dollar’s privileged status gives it. I put ‘benefits’ within the quotation marks because while having the world’s main reserve currency reduces interest rates, this has lulled the USA into a false sense of security related to debt that will end with its destruction (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).
The loss of reserve currency status will one day have major ramifications:

If US T-bills lose their attraction as reserve investments … it would get harder for the Treasury to sell more of them, requiring higher interest rates to be paid and potentially forcing austerity measures on the US government or triggering classic deficit spending inflation (“printing money” to pay for government, this doesn’t happen now because the deficit is financed through sales of those bonds at extremely low interest rates).
If foreign central banks and governments start exchanging their US dollars for some other currency or currencies, then the value of the dollar in international trade drops, it becomes more expensive to buy imported goods in the US and more profitable to sell exported goods from the US. The above is warning about inflation, higher interest rates, and troubles borrowing. The USA is the most highly indebted nation of all time. The USA has been essentially on a borrowing binge the last four decades and its economy is now dependent upon borrowing. The Bible paints an even worse scenario that in the time of the end (Habakkuk 2:2-3) the highly indebted will be taken over (Habakkuk 2:6-8) and destroyed (Daniel 11:39; USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

US Sanctions and Tariffs leading to New World Order?
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said new US sanctions would be a declaration of economic war. Iran, North Korea, China, Europe, and Turkey are also upset about USA sanctions and tariffs. A Turk asserted “Somebody must find a solution and stop the USA.” The BRICS nations see US sanctions and tariffs as helpful to their objectives to trade without the USA. US debt, as well as its sanctions and trade policies are factors that will lead to the loss of the USA dollar as the world’s premier reserve currency.
As I warned prior to Donald Trump’s inauguration, there will be many “unintended consequences” to some of his policies and statements.
The days of the US dollar’s dominance are numbered.
There is a cost to USA sanctions.
They are pushing the Gentile nations to come up with something that the USA will not like.
One day the USA dollar will be worth no more than the scrap value of the cotton-paper it is printed on.
