‘Polls Show Americans Downcast About State of the Country,’ Distrust Up, Belief in Bible Down
Another poll shows those in the USA are more downcast and have more distrust of various institutions:
Polls Show Americans Downcast About State of the Country
July 5, 2022
Gallup released its annual survey of Americans’ confidence in society’s major institutions, including the federal government, the military, schools, businesses and other key sectors of society. The news was not encouraging.
The poll, according to Gallup, recorded “record low” confidence across society as a whole. Across the 16 categories polled, the survey showed sharp declines in 11, moderate declines in four more, and one unchanged. Confidence did not increase in any of them.
The sharpest decline was in people expressing either “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the presidency, which fell from an already low 38% last year, to just 23% this year. The 15% drop matches the decline found in other polls in President Joe Biden’s approval ratings over the same period.
Supreme Court confidence
The next largest decline was in confidence felt in the Supreme Court. Last year, 36% of respondents said they had either “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the high court. This year, the figure fell to 25%.
The poll was conducted before the Supreme Court issued a spate of controversial rulings, including the elimination of a constitutional right to abortion, the overturning of a New York law restricting the ability of individuals to carry concealed firearms, and blocking the Environmental Protection Agency from taking some measures to regulate greenhouse gases. …
Other institutions
Congress remains the institution Americans trust the least, with those expressing high levels of confidence falling from 15% last year to single digits — just 7% in 2023.
The police (45%), the medical system (38%), organized religion (31%), banks (27%) and the criminal justice system (14%) all saw their ratings decline by 6% year over year.
The survey also showed a decline in trust in journalism organizations. The percentage of respondents reporting high levels of trust in newspapers fell to 16% from 21% last year. Things were worse for television news, with high levels of confidence falling to 11% from 16%. …
‘Decrepit’ politics
John Halpin, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, a liberal-leaning think tank, told VOA in an email that the Gallup findings are representative of a long-term trend.
“This is not just a recent phenomenon,” he wrote. “Americans have concluded that many of the major institutions in American society are either corrupted or rotten and have failed to address the country’s biggest challenges. The 2008 financial crisis, the war in Iraq, economic and regional inequality, and the rise in extremist politics have all contributed to a heightened sense of institutional decline.”
The “decrepit state of our politics” is the biggest driver of negative feelings about the country, Halpin said.
“Americans have little to no faith that the two major political parties are capable of brokering some consensus course to get us back on track and fix a range of problems from inequality and poverty to immigration and crime,” he said. “One party comes in and does a few things that make their voters happy but leaves others steaming mad. Then it switches for a while with the roles and emotions reversed.” https://www.voanews.com/a/polls-show-americans-downcast-about-state-of-the-country/6646510.html
As far as “journalists” go, their biases and suppression of truth, combined with Big Tech’s biases and censoring, are obvious to more and more in the USA.
Last week, a poll found that more people in the USA believe that it is going in the wrong direction:
June 30, 2022
A new poll just took a sledgehammer to the Biden administration.
A new poll done by the Associated Press shows Biden’s approval rating is at 39% (which means it is probably in the upper 20s) and that 8 in 10 Democrats think the country is headed in the wrong direction.
According to the results, 67% of Democrats say that the United States’ economic condition is poor.
A whopping 85% of Americans believe that the country is on the wrong track as inflation continues to rise. https://en-volve.com/2022/06/30/new-poll-takes-a-sledgehammer-to-the-biden-admin-i-had-to-vote-democrat-but-thats-going-to/
Here is a prophecy for the last days that relates to many political leaders, academics, and journalists:
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:1-5, KJV)
The Apostle Paul also wrote the following:
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:13, KJV)
Isaiah warned about “an hypocritical nation” (Isaiah 10:6, KJV).
As more in the USA see the hypocrisy of many leaders, there is more distrust.
The USA is in moral, cultural, and other decline as, to a great degree, it despises the word of God.
Speaking of polls, here is something from one by Gallup:
July 6, 2022
Only 20% of Americans see the Bible as the actual Word of God. A full 29% call it “fables” and “legends.”
The biggest portion, 49%, say it is “inspired” by God but it is NOT to be taken literally.
The results of the Gallup polling say the 20% who believe the Bible actually is God’s Word is at a record low.
That’s down from 24% the last time the question was asked, in 2017, and about half what it was in 1980 and 1984. https://www.wnd.com/2022/07/shocking-percentage-americans-dont-believe-bible-gods-word/
The prophet Isaiah was inspired to write:
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet,
And note it on a scroll,
That it may be for time to come,
Forever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people,
Lying children,
Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;
10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;
Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
11 Get out of the way,
Turn aside from the path,
Cause the Holy One of Israel
To cease from before us.”12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
“Because you despise this word,
And trust in oppression and perversity,
And rely on them,
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.
14 And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel,
Which is broken in pieces;
He shall not spare.
So there shall not be found among its fragments
A shard to take fire from the hearth,
Or to take water from the cistern.”15 For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
But you would not, (Isaiah 30:8-15)
Yes, the USA does not wish to repent–and yes, will one day be destroyed.
Notice something from my book Biden-Harris: Prophecies and Destruction:
There are prophecies from several sources that warn against leaders and various actions in the days leading up to the Great Tribulation, often called the ‘Apocalypse.’
The Bible itself warns that if the children of Israel sinned and did not repent, the following would happen:
12 … Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed. (Isaiah 9:16)
Since multiple millions of the physical descendants of Israel reside in the United States and we are getting close to the end, it is interesting to note that the above prophecies have been fulfilled, to a degree, during administrations of recent U.S. presidents (with issues such as debt), and potentially will also be fulfilled during a Biden-Harris Administration.
The USA, as we have known it, is going downhill fast.
How fast?
Possibly it will be gone by 2028.
A few days after the inauguration of the Biden-Harris Administration, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
Is the USA prophesied to be destroyed by 2028?
Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom. There are scriptures, writings in the Talmud, early Christian teachings that support this. Also, even certain Hindu writings support it.
Here is a summary of ten items to consider: 1. If as the School of Elijah taught, that God inspired Elijah to state that the world as we have known it would last 6,000 years, to be followed by a thousand year sabbatical time, which Jewish tradition (Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin [97a]) and early Christian traditions records (e.g. Irenaeus, a hearer of Polycarp. Adversus haereses, Book V, Chapter 30:4), then we are getting close to the end of that time.
2. And if, consistent with scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, we can apply the concept that a thousand years is as a day to God (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8).
3. And if, as generally understood in the Church of God that Jesus was killed and resurrected no later than the Spring of 31 A.D. on Passover.
4. And if we can presume that the “last days” of a 7,000 year prophetic week began AFTER the middle day (day 4), then the last days prior to the “sabbatical” time, which some would refer to as the millennial Kingdom of God would last two thousand years.
5. And if when Peter referred to being in the last days (Acts 2:17-18) and since Hebrews 1:1-12 teaches that “God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”
6. Then adding 2,000 years to a period of time leads to the end of the 6,000 years no later than 2031 (and it could be earlier than that).
7. Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14; 13:5) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027.
8. Understand that the U.S.A. is prophesied to be taken over near the rise of the Beast and start of the Great Tribulation (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22).
9. Therefore, since the end of two full U.S.A. presidential terms would end in January of 2029, these prophetic understandings point to the end of the U.S.A. prior to two full presidential terms.
10. This is also consistent with certain Hindu and Roman Catholic prophetic writings as well. This video gives more details and quotes which point to the destruction of the United States of America by 2028.

For those interested in even more details, the Continuing Church of God put out the following sermon on its ContinuingCOG channel:
Great Tribulation: 2026 or 2027?
Many have falsely claimed that the Great Tribulation either was in the first century A.D. or would come in many different years prior to now. Could the Great Tribulation occur next year or not? What is the earliest year that the Great Tribulation could come? Why is 2022-2024 impossible? Why does 2025 seem unlikely? What are the possible reasons for 2026 or 2027? What about confirmation of the peace deal by a prince in Daniel 9:27? What about the emergence of European King of the North and a Middle Eastern/North African King of the South? What about animal sacrifices, the red heifer, and the Temple Institute? How might the date of Jesus’ execution and resurrection be involved? Might there be a six/seven thousand year plan? How could that tie to the words of Peter and those in the Book of Hebrews regarding the last days? Who is the Beast of the sea, the King of the North? Could the final Antichrist be a type of antipope who falsely claims Roman Catholicism? What about pestilences, the ride of the fourth horseman of Apocalypse, and the opening of the fifth seal of the Book of Revelation. Dr. Thiel covers these and other matters and gives rationale, why, if the signs that Jesus referred to are seen before then, that 2026 or 2027 could be the start of the devastating Great Tribulation. He also quotes the late Herbert W. Armstrong about it starting with a nuclear attack against the UK, USA, and/or Canada. Dr. Thiel quotes Jesus’ promise of protection for Philadelphian Christians. He also summarizes several important signs to watch for, consistent with Jesus’ words in Mark 13.

The USA needs repentance and looks to be gone by 2028.
The decline of the American empire is happening before our eyes.
Many Americans and even some secular writers are seeing that.
As far as the USA being at a crossroads, the biblical reality is that national repentance is the only way to prevent its destruction, and that does not look likely:
5 … But the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent. 6 And the sword shall slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of their own counsels. 7 My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. (Hosea 11:5b-7)
This will not end well for the USA (cf. Isaiah 10:5-12; see also Germany in Biblical and Catholic Prophecy) nor its British-descended allies.
But you can repent and even have physical protection (see There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Near Petra).
Do you see what is happening?
If so, will YOU properly respond?
