Putin reveals new rules on nuclear weapons in Russia’s latest warning to the West

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced proposed changes to Moscow’s rule book on the use of nuclear weapons in another thinly-veiled warning to Western nations that continue to back Kyiv in the war in Ukraine.

In opening remarks before a meeting with senior officials on Russia’s nuclear deterrence on Wednesday, which were released by the Kremlin and translated by NBC News, Putin said that “a number of clarifications … defining the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons” are being made to the document that defines Russia’s nuclear doctrine.

He added that draft amendments to the doctrine expand “the category of states and military alliances in relation to which nuclear deterrence is carried out” and include a supplemented “list of military threats” that Russia would see as a justification to deploy nuclear weapons.

In a pointed warning to the Western nations as they continue to support Ukraine, Putin announced that any attack against Russia by a non-nuclear state that was backed by a nuclear-armed one would be considered a “joint attack.”

“What I would especially like to draw your attention to, is that in the updated version of the document, aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear state, is proposed to be considered as their joint attack on the Russian Federation,” Putin said.

The latest comments on imminent changes to Russia’s nuclear doctrine, which sets out the conditions under which nuclear weapons can be used, have been widely seen as a warning to the West as certain allies — specifically the U.S. and the U.K. — consider whether to give Ukraine the green light to use long-range weaponry they’ve donated to Kyiv against military targets within Russia. …

Zelenskyy said … “We have long-range weapons. But not in the amount we need, let’s say. Nevertheless, we have this package — [of long-range missiles] Storm Shadow, ATACMS, SCALP. But neither America nor Great Britain gave us permission to use these weapons on the territory of Russia, for any purpose at any distance. We did not use long-range weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Zelenskyy told reporters Friday, in comments translated by NBC News.

Putin seemed to directly reference Ukraine’s possible future launching of long-rang missiles at Russia, saying Moscow would consider a nuclear response if it receives “credible information about a mass takeoff” of strategic of tactical planes toward Russia, or the launch of cruise missiles, hypersonic weapons or drones toward its territory.

While many think that Russia is bluffing about that, I do not. Many thought Russia would not try to end up with Ukrainian territory in early 2022–I did not agree and was proven to be right.

The West is kidding itself if it thinks that Ukraine is about to defeat Russia and regain all territory, including Crimea.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command has issued a statement stating Russian military aircraft were detected operating in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone.

The Monday statement goes on to say the Russian aircraft remained in international airspace and stayed out of both U.S. and Canadian sovereign airspace, which the statement notes occurs often and “not seen as a threat.” …

On September 12, the U.S. Army deployed 130 soldiers as well as its rocket systems 1,200 miles southwest of Anchorage, to Shemya Island, in response to the increased activity of Russian military aircraft. …

According to CBS News, the deployment came after eight Russian military planes, four navy vessels, and two submarines were detected close to the area within a week while Russia was conducting military drills with China. …

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told ABC News Monday that he believes the war with Russia will be coming to an end soon, and called on allies to strengthen his military forces. …

In response to Zelenskyy’s comments, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said despite the confidence of Ukraine, victory will be with Russia.

Russia keeps warning the West.

Vladimir Putin’s warnings related to possible NATO membership were ignored in early 2022, which was followed by Russia’s ‘Special Military Operation’ into Ukraine.

Just because Russia has not used nuclear weapons, thus far, does not mean it will not use them if it feels that is the only way to end up with what it wants in Ukraine.

Perhaps it should be pointed out the the Bible shows that after the USA is conquered by the coming Babylonian European King of the North Beast power (Daniel 11:39), Russia will exist (Daniel 11:44) and that Russia will lead the confederation that will (about 3 1/2 years later) destroy the European Babylonian power (Jeremiah 50:41-43; see also Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).

Russia’s President Vladmir Putin has also noted various reasons he sees the USA as a declining power.

America’s Collapse and Russia’s Preparations

For the first time ever, the USA is no longer listed in the top ten nations when it comes to global competitiveness. Reasons include lack of social cohesiveness, a polarized political landscape, a slow-moving legislative process, debt, sanctions policies, and immorality. While US President Barack Obama had very cordial relations with Russia in late 2012, that changed afterwards after then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to push aspects of the LGBTQ+ agenda on Russia. After Russia’s Sergey Lavrov would not accept such interference in its internal affairs, the USA turned against Russia in many ways. The Washington Post, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal reported that the USA, through its Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), supported the anti-Russian forces in Ukraine against its pro-Russian president in 2014 and supported assassinations, Neo-Nazi Ukrainians, and paramilitary actions against pro-Russian Ukrainians thereafter. Because of USA actions, Russian President Vladimir Putin began a series of actions, starting with the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union, and then more involving the BRICS nations to separate Russia from the West. He also moved towards dedollarization and the accumulation of gold as he and other Russian leaders see that the USA is setting itself up for collapse because of its bullying tactics, increasing debt, and various monetary policies.
