Donald Trump is considering dropping economic sanctions against Russia if it cooperates on terrorism:

The latest US sanctions against Moscow, imposed by Barack Obama in December, would stay in place “at least for a period of time” under the new administration, Donald Trump told The Wall Street Journal in an interview published on Saturday.
At the same time, he suggested that he might change course if Moscow were to cooperate with Washington, especially on fighting Islamic extremism.

Nigel Farage has been accused of misleading Donald Trump over the state of the Brussels bloc by the US ambassador to the European Union.
Anthony Gardner said the former Ukip leader had given the President-elect a false impression that more countries might follow Britain out of the bloc by inflating the level of euroscepticism in Europe. …
The ambassador said Mr Farage, who had written to him recently requesting a meeting, had misled Trump’s transition team on the state of the EU.

Ambassador Gardner must know that Donald Trump supported the leave side of the Brexit vote, but apparently Ambassador Gardner is very pro-European Union.
As far as Nigel Farage goes, a reader sent me a link to an article in which he recently made some public statements about Russia, Donald Trump, and the European Union:
NIGEL FARAGE blasted the European Union for posing a bigger threat to Britain than Vladimir Putin and urged the West to “stop poking the Russian bear”.

He said: “This constant eastwards expansion of the European Union coupled with the fact they’re now building a European Union army worries me.
“We’re back in a Cold War. We’re back in shadow boxing. Whether Putin is a threat or not, let’s please stop poking the Russian bear it simply doesn’t make sense.”
Nigel Farage has backed Donald Trump as the man to build relationships with Vladimir Putin. …
“There’s only one man that is going to break this deadlock and that man is Donald J. Trump,” he said.
“You can like him, you can hate him, but one thing for certain, he’s going to do things differently. He will give this a go.
“There will be a meeting in Reykjavik or somewhere at some point during this year. I wish him luck. I hope we do find some common ground. I hope we do manage to coordinate better in the fight against ISIS.

The Bible prophesies that Europe will have a great army in Daniel 11:25.
But what about the idea of European geographic expansion?
Well, there is a portion of scripture about that that I and others have sometimes pointed to. Notice something from a book I wrote in 2009:
Millennia ago, Daniel wrote a prophecy that discussed a little horn that would mainly expand to the south and east:
8 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 10 And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered (Daniel 8:9-12).
And while the above has had a past fulfillment, this prophecy seems to be dual (compare with Daniel 11:27-–39)—and seems to be for our time.
What is now the EU began as a small organization involving three small countries located in the northern and western regions of Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, called the Benelux nations)—they then helped form the European Economic Community. This European Economic Community expanded mainly south and east of the Benelux nations, into what had become the expanded European Union. Now, about 500 million people are under a new (though not completely united) government headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009)
In the old Radio Church of God, the late evangelist Dr. Hoeh taught that this little horn of Daniel 8 was the power that would become the final King of the North:
Turn in your Bible to verse 9: “And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.” …
The King of the North
The little horn in Daniel 8 is none other than the LAST KING of one of the four divisions of Alexander’s Empire. He is, in fact, the final “King of the North” described in Daniel 11. (Hoeh H. The 2300 Days. Plain Truth, August 1965)
Europe has mainly grown south and east since the formation of Benelux.
Is Nigel Farage right that the European Union and not Russia is the major threat?
Well, Bible prophecy does NOT tell of Russia starting what could be called World War III (WWIII), but it shows that a European power will do that. Whether or not it will actually be called the European Union is not specified in the Bible.
Notice the following about the King of the North (called “he” below) will one day destroy the USA and divide its lands for gain:
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)

Despite real and potential problems, the final European King of the North Beast power will arise.
As prophesied, the European power has expanded to the east. The Bible teaches that Europe will have unification problems (Daniel 2:40-43). Yet, the Bible also teaches that one day Europe will reorganize and arise and surprise people (Revelation 17:11-13; Revelation 13:1-8).
The European Union is concerned about its security and economy. Since the election of Donald Trump it has agreed to move to support military expansion (see Europe moving towards its own army ‘Europe may soon produce its own Trumps’ and European Commission unveils some of its military plans).
Europe is starting to rise up.
The USA has time, but WWIII will come–but it will come from the Europeans according to biblical prophecies like Daniel 11:39 (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses) not Russia (see also Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).
