Ten ‘King of the South’ nations agree to coalition after ten non-Arab nations agree to a separate anti-ISIS coalition

Ten Arab nations, on the urging of the Obama Administration, have agreed to a type of coalition against the Islamic State as did ten non-Arab nations:

JIDDAH, Saudi Arabia (AP) – Key Arab allies promised Thursday to “do their share” to fight Islamic State militants…

The 10 Mideast allies announced their backing for a strategy to “destroy” the group “wherever it is, including in both Iraq and Syria,” following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in the Red Sea coastal city of Jiddah.

Kerry’s visit, on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, was aimed at pinning down how much support regional allies are willing to give to the U.S. plan to beat back the Islamic State group…

Thursday’s meeting in Jiddah ended with Saudi Arabia, other Gulf states, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon pledging to stand against terrorism. They promised steps including stopping fighters and funding, repudiating the Islamic State group’s ideology, providing humanitarian aid and “as appropriate, joining in the many aspects of a coordinated military campaign.”

They also agreed to boost support for the new Iraqi government as it tries to unite its citizens in the fight against the militants. Ten countries have formed a coalition against ISIS on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Wales: the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Turkey and Canada as well as non-NATO member Australia. …

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is currently in the Middle East in an effort to form the coalition, while President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have had phone calls with several leaders to discuss the issue. There are a couple of points to bring out.

The first point is that the Bible tells of a coalition of Arabs and Turks called the ‘king of the south.’ This King of the South will be militaristic, but this will end in disaster (Daniel 11:40-43). The USA is attempting to encourage the rise of an Arab-Turkish confederation, and not just to combat the Islamic State. The USA wants a durable coalition.

The second point is that someone asked me a couple of days ago if the ten nation coalition involving Australia, the USA, the U.K., Canada, and Turkey could possibly be the ten kings of Revelation 17:12-13 (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?). I answered that it could not and explained that the ten kings of Revelation 17:12-13 are related to a European power (see the video titled: Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?) and this would not include places like the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia (see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).

As far as Turkey goes, the Bible shows that it will temporarily be part of the king of the south, but indicates that it will ultimately betray it (for details, see The Arab and Islamic World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy and/or watch the video What Should You Know About Turkey in Prophecy).

Europeans are seeking a more independent path for themselves, which could have implications for US-European cooperation on everything from IS to Russian assertiveness to China’s rise. Here are five take-aways from the German Marshall Fund of the US’s annual transatlantic trends report.

THE TRANSATLANTIC DIVIDE

At a time when US and European leaders talk of unity to confront global security challenges, transatlantic solidarity is lacking. In the US, 34 percent of GMF survey respondents said they wanted a closer partnership with Europe, up five points from the year before. In Europe, however, the inverse was shown: 50 percent wanted an approach independent from the US, up eight points. …

GERMANY IS AN OUTLIER

For the first time ever, a majority of Germans say they want more independence from the US in security and diplomatic affairs, a stark 17-point increase from 2013. This put Germany above the European average, with 57 percent looking for more autonomy.

This shift can be traced to revelations by Edward Snowden of National Security Agency spying on Germany, which has soured views on the US and its president. While 58 percent of Germans hold a favorable view of the US, that is down from 68 percent who said the same in 2013. …

While the Obama Administration wants to build coalitions with USA involvement, the Europeans, which will eventually reorganize (see Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?) and destroy the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also Who is the King of the North?).

The Snowden matter (see The Snowden Leaks are Leading to the Destruction of the USA), the Ukrainian matter (e.g. Ukraine’s Poroshenko sends in fighting troops, Russia’s Putin vows to defend, and many do not trust the USA), and Europe’s views of how the Obama Administration has handled all of this (watch 10 Steps Obama Has Taken Leading to the Rise of the Beast) is putting a strain on USA relationships with continental Europe (the USA’s relationship with the UK seems to be fairly strong).

Many do not know where all of these coalitions will end up, but the Bible is clear that a coming reorganization of matters in Europe (see Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?) will not end well for the USA, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada (see Who is the King of the North?).
