Top Iran diplomat warns US it cannot ‘expect to stay safe’

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s foreign minister warned the U.S. on Monday that it “cannot expect to stay safe” after launching what he described as an economic war against Tehran, taking a hard-line stance amid a visit by Germany’s top diplomat seeking to defuse tensions.

A stern-faced Mohammad Javad Zarif offered a series of threats over the ongoing tensions gripping the Persian Gulf. The crisis takes root in President Donald Trump’s decision over a year ago to withdraw America from Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers. Trump also reinstated tough sanctions on Iran, targeting its oil sector.

“Mr. Trump himself has announced that the U.S. has launched an economic war against Iran,” Zarif said. “The only solution for reducing tensions in this region is stopping that economic war.”

Zarif also warned: “Whoever starts a war with us will not be the one who finishes it.”

For his part, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas insisted his country and other European nations want to find a way to salvage the nuclear deal, which saw Iran limit its enrichment of uranium in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions. Iran has made many threats in the past towards both Israel and the USA. The USA recently made another threat against Iran (see John Bolton Accuses Iran of Tanker Attacks Off UAE and issues threat).

While Iran could be devastated by a war with the USA or Israel, it is not that the USA (or Israel) could not be damaged. Iran did recently threaten Israel, and the Bible indicates that it will one day cause great damage to Jerusalem (Isaiah 22:1-14).

Now, Iran has a lot of nuclear materials and could at least now produce what is called a ‘dirty bomb.” A “dirty bomb” is one where radioactive materials are placed inside a conventional bomb. The resultant explosion would contaminate an area and make it radioactively dangerous. Many also believe that Iran is close to producing not just dirty bombs, but actual nuclear bombs. Iran having drone stealth technology puts the USA, Israel, and others at risk of being attacked with nuclear explosions. This could very well happen.

Furthermore, another way that Iran could inflict major damage to the USA would be an effective use of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons. Iran is believed to have that capability.

An EMP attack by Iran, in the proper locations, could greatly affect Israel, the USA, or even Europe. Iran test-fired a missile last Summer that was believed to be capable of delivering an emp bomb. Thus, Iran probably is considering multiple ways of employing them.

Power transformers in the USA (and elsewhere) are at risk from emp bombs and this could cause major economic and other damage to the USA. Such emp weapons, however, have never been used large scale, so precisely what would happen is subject to debate. But the reality is that emp weapons, as well as solar flares which have similar potential, are threats to the USA, its defenses, and its economy.

The USA, despite its military strength, is vulnerable to being hurt by EMP weapons as well as nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, dirty bombs, terrorism, and biological weapons that Iran and/or its ally Syria possess. It has been shown in a test that EMPs can basically work as advertised, and this may give the Iranians more reason to look further into using them if they feel pressed.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that America’s economic influence would be eliminated if countries halt the use of dollars in their international transactions, reported Sputnik.

“America’s power rests on the dollar; a great part of America’s economic power will go away if countries eliminate the dollar from their economic systems,” Zarif said at a school even in Tehran.

President Trump has waged economic warfare on Iran ever since Washington withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (Iran nuclear deal). Washington has forced Iran’s trade partners, who use dollars, to halt trade with Iran.

“It amounts, by definition, to economic terrorism because the US is putting pressure in terms of what its president calls warfare on normal ordinary Iranians in order to change the policies of their government,” he told reporters.

Zarif isn’t the only senior official in the world who has spoken about to dollar’s demise; we reported last Wednseday that Russia and China are set to sign an agreement which would boost the use of their national currencies in bilateral and international trade, in an attempt to move away from the dollar. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-06-10/iran-calls-elimination-dollar-stop-us-economic-terrorism

Eventually, after more countries come to the same conclusion and the USA has a major debt crisis (and likely various disasters), the entire world will turn against the US dollar and it will be no more.

As far as Iran itself goes, while it wants to lead all of Islam, it will not succeed in that objective — the Bible points to an Arabic power doing that in Daniel 11:40-43. Because of that, I have long felt that it may be that Iran would be ‘neutralized’ before the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40) rises up.

Iran could be neutralized by internal unrest or other matters. On the other hand, if it employs, or attempts to employ, certain weapons of mass destruction, it may well cause Israel, the USA, and/or others to turn on it and destroy aspects of its military capability.

Notice also the following prophecy:

34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:

‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam,
The foremost of their might.
36 Against Elam I will bring the four winds
From the four quarters of heaven,
And scatter them toward all those winds;
There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go.
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies
And before those who seek their life.
I will bring disaster upon them,

‘And I will send the sword after them
Until I have consumed them.
38 I will set My throne in Elam,
And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord. (Jeremiah 49:34-38)

“Neutralizing” Iran would allow most of the other Islamic states (like Saudi Arabia and Egypt) to continue to exist (Syria might not do well per Isaiah 17:1) and allow for the rising up of the prophesied King of the South .

As far as the USA goes, damage from Iran could be another “unintended consequence” of US President Trump’s policy towards Iran in particular, and sanctions in general.

Americans may think that there is no cost to sanctions and threats of sanctions, but that is not the case.

Germany is, today, trying to salvage the Iran nuclear deal (https://www.dw.com/en/germany-fights-to-salvage-iran-nuclear-deal-as-deadline-looms/a-49108530)–and it is not pleased that the USA backed away from it.

The USA is turning more and more nations against it.
