Trade disputes seem to be growing between the USA and China:
China accuses US of ‘economic terrorism’ as trade war tensions escalate

China accused the Trump administration of committing “economic terrorism” on Thursday, escalating its war of words with the United States amid rising trade tensions between the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the White House had “brought huge damage to the economy of other countries and the US itself,” spokesperson Lu Kang told reporters in Beijing on Thursday.
Lu described US trade policy as “typical economic terrorism, economic hegemonism, and economic unilateralism.” …
The People’s Daily, the newspaper of the ruling Communist Party, used the loaded phrase in a commentary on Wednesday, in which it said that China would “never accept” the US’ suppression of Chinese development.
“At present, the United States completely overestimates its ability to control the global supply chain and is due to slap itself in the face when it sobers up from its happy, ignorant self-indulgence,” said the commentary published under the pseudonym Wuyuehe. “Don’t say we didn’t warn you.”

Rare earth minerals are a common part of people’s lives — and their futures.
If you have a smartphone or computer, own a flat-screen TV, drive a hybrid car or use a myriad of other high-tech devices, you’ll no doubt come into contact with these elements — mined from the earth’s crust and supplied predominantly by China — countless times a day.
But they are also used in obscure but powerful ways that ensure some of the biggest companies in the world can keep churning out those products.

Despite their name, rare earths aren’t all that rare. The U.S. Geological Survey describes them as a “relatively abundant group” of 17 chemical elements. What makes them unusual, however, is that they’re difficult to extract in high concentrations from the ground.
The elements’ names, which include cerium, promethium, scandium, might sound like something out of science fiction, but each one can be used for a variety of purposes — from making magnets, batteries and lights, to glass production and the cooling of nuclear rods.
The U.S. military also depends on rare earths for the construction of equipment used in satellites, lasers, jet engines, radar and sonar systems, and other sophisticated machinery. …

I have been warning about China’s dominance of rare earth elements since 2009 (e.g. see China’s Rare Earth Power). They look to be one area that China feels its dominance can help it with the trade disputes with the USA.
The USA is also having trade/sanctions issues with others including Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Turkey, and North Korea.
And then there is Europe.

EU-US TRADE WAR, IRAN SANCTIONS
EURUSD is also finding increasing pressure against the backdrop of souring political relations between Washington and Brussels. The divergence in EU-US policy toward Iran led European member states to create a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that allowed European-based companies to circumvent US sanctions against Tehran by allowing non-US Dollar denominated transactions.
However, officials in Washington today announced that the EU may incur penalties in the form of sanctions if they continue with this economic program. After the news crossed the wires, crude oil prices spiked as investors’ fear over prospective supply disruptions swelled. Europe is trying to figure out how to handle this, and one way is to work to decrease the dominance of the US dollar in international trade.
Iran, Russia, China, and others are also looking to do that.
The Trump Administration has helped push China and the EU closer together on trade matters. Last month, they officially moved closer (see ‘EU and China sign a Mandate of Trade Heaven’)–and they are not done.

For a time, Babylon will dominate world trade:

While ‘Babylon’ will not fully reign in 2019, with the USA pulling out of trade deals and/or wishing to change them, steps are occurring that are pushing Europe to dominate trade (watch Trade Wars: Are COG warnings coming to pass?). The Europeans have been working with Latin America, China, Russia’s Eurasian Union, and other areas of the world to try to set up its dominance of world trade as well as standards for world trade.

Threats of tariffs and sanctions by the USA are getting the Europeans to work to try to develop trade in Asia (see EU makes world’s largest ‘free trade deal’ as some see EU moving towards totalitarian fascism and watch China’s Silk Road and Babylon the Great) and Latin America (see EU looking to make world’s biggest trade deal with South America).
The Bible prophesies the following in the Book of Revelation:
2 … Babylon … 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury. (Revelation 18:2,3)
The above is referring to the fact that nations of the world are prophesied to get wealthy trading with end time Babylon, which will be a European entity. This European power will have religious ties to the City of Seven Hills–the Church of Rome:
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” (Revelation 17:1-2)9 Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. … 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:9,18)
The Bible tells of a trading power arising in Europe that is tied to the City of Seven Hills. Europe, the United Nations, and the Vatican have stated that they have agreed on essentially the same future for the world.
China is frustrated with the USA under Donald Trump. It would like to retaliate against the USA (rare earth elements may be one way). But it is also pushing for trade with the Europeans.
Ultimately, this will not go as well for the USA as the Trump Administration hopes. I have been warning since before Donald Trump became president that there would be “unintended consequences” of his policies.
Trade will be a factor in what can be called World War III–and this war will be a conflict with Europe (but the ‘shooting’ aspect of this will not happen before 2023; for some details, see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).
