Trump: US to Impose Higher Tariffs on Chinese Exports

China’s foreign ministry says Chinese negotiators are preparing to travel to the United States for their next round of trade talks, after U.S. President Donald Trump complained the process was taking too long and threatened higher tariffs on billions of dollars of Chinese goods.

Foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters Monday that China was “trying to get more information” about Trump’s comments about new tariffs.

Geng did not specify whether Vice Premier Liu He, China’s top trade negotiator, was among those preparing to make the trip to Washington this week.

Trump wrote Sunday on Twitter: “The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No!”

He followed that Monday with more complaints about trade imbalances. …

He said he will raise existing 10 percent tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods to 25 percent, and to impose new tariffs on another $325 billion of other products. https://www.voanews.com/a/trump-us-to-impose-higher-tariffs-on-chinese-exports-/4904688.html

China basically wants the status quo and US President Trump seems to believe that large tariffs will either motivate China to capitulate to his demands or at least help the USA in various ways.

Today, Donald Trump sent out the following tweet via Twitter:

The United States has been losing, for many years, 600 to 800 Billion Dollars a year on Trade. With China we lose 500 Billion Dollars. Sorry, we’re not going to be doing that anymore!

Donald Trump is trying to appear tough.

The Chinese, at this stage, are trying to figure out how to handle this. Notice also the following:

China said on Monday that it has warned two US ships sailing near disputed islands in the South China Sea to leave the area.

The move comes amid heightened tension between Beijing and Washington over trade tariffs, sanctions and Taiwan.

Warships in the South China Sea

US guided-missile destroyers Preble and Chung Hoon traveled within 12 nautical miles of Gaven and Johnson Reefs.

The reefs form part of the Spartly Islands, a region of the South China sea over which China claims sovereignty.

The foreign ministry said the US vessels entered the waters without Chinese permission.

‘Infringed on Chinese sovereignty’

Foreign ministry spokesman Greg Shuang told a press conference that China “is strongly dissatisfied and is resolutely opposed” to the US operation.

“The relevant moves by the US ships infringed upon Chinese sovereignty, and damaged the peace, security and good order of the relevant seas,” Geng said. “China urges the United States to stop such provocative actions.”

Geng added that China would continue to take the necessary steps to defend its sovereignty.

US Commander Clay Doss, a spokesman for the Seventh Fleet, told Reuters that the “innocent passage” aimed “to challenge excessive maritime claims and preserve access to the waterways as governed by international law.” https://www.dw.com/en/china-warns-us-after-warships-sail-in-disputed-south-china-sea/a-48614428

This type of Chinese warning may further upset US President Trump and may increase his resolve on trade issues. That being said, I doubt that the US Navy simply had an “innocent passage.” It has wanted to send a message to the world that it does NOT want to recognize Chinese maritime claims in the region.

Before going further, let me state that one of the “unintended consequences” of Donald Trump’s current and previous actions is that China now seems to be more willing to acquiesce to European standards, etc. as they must believe the EU is easier to deal with than the Trump Administration (e.g. ‘EU and China sign a Mandate of Trade Heaven’).

While China hopes to dominate the world, the Bible essentially shows that Europe will dominate the world just prior to the return of Jesus.

Notice the following from the Book of Revelation:

2 … Babylon … 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury. (Revelation 18:2,3)

The above is referring to the fact that nations of the world are prophesied to get wealthy trading with end time Babylon, which will be a European entity. This European power will have religious ties to the City of Seven Hills–the Church of Rome:

1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” (Revelation 17:1-2)

9 Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. … 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:9,18)

The Bible tells of a trading power arising in Europe that is tied to the City of Seven Hills. Europe, the United Nations, and the Vatican have stated that they have agreed on essentially the same future for the world. Now, Europe is getting an opportunity to better mold trade in its image–with its standards and, at least indirectly, its control.

China, frustrated with the USA under Donald Trump, is pushing for trade matters like the Europeans.

Ultimately, this will not go as well for the USA as the Trump Administration hopes.

Back in 1971, the old Worldwide Church of God (WCG) published the following:

Momentous, historic events are transforming Western Europe. But most Americans are “asleep at the switch” to what is happening. It’s time for a self-centered America to wake up – before her allies become her enemies. Envision the startling future of Western Europe. Now, Europe does have its own currency–a currency that some see as the logical replacement for the US dollar for world trade–especially because of US sanctions, etc. (see also SWIFT end of the USA by 2025 as EU, Russia, China, and Iran take steps?). Now, let me add that less than a decade after the above was published by the old WCG, the WCG publicly announced that Eastern Europe would also be part of this European power. And within a decade of that, Eastern European nations began to officially join in with what has become the European Union. And, in population (over 510 million), the European Union is actually larger than that of the USA and Russia combined.

One way the prophesied European power will be able to dominate world trade is by developing/writing/controlling many of the rules for international trade.

Trade will be a factor in what can be called World War III–and this war will be a conflict with Europe (but the ‘shooting’ aspect of this will not happen before 2023; for some details, see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).

The final time of the Gentiles is getting closer.
