UN Report Shows Lockdowns Created A Massive World Hunger Crisis
July 16, 2021
According to the annual U.N. report “The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World,” between 118 million and 161 million more people starved in 2020 than the previous year. The report identifies the COVID-19 pandemic as a significant factor in this massive increase in starvation, and the hardest-hit regions were South Asia and Africa.
About 10% of the world population starved in 2020, setting back the target of eradicating world hunger significantly. According to the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs, “the COVID-19 pandemic, and the measures to restrain it have dramatically magnified and increased these challenges [of ending world hunger and malnutrition in all its forms by 2030].” …
Inflation And Political Conflicts
As documented previously by Liberty Nation, the self-inflicted economic downturn and corresponding inflation have driven up food prices and put a strain on food security, especially in developing countries. …
Even in the early stages of the pandemic, when the risks of COVID-19 had been sufficiently measured, people who were critical of prolonged lockdowns pointed out that they could be more harmful than the virus. In March 2020, President Donald Trump said that “we cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself.” Today, the U.N. report vindicates these early critics. The self-inflicted economic downturn worldwide may have killed more people than the virus and plummeted millions more into abject poverty. https://www.libertynation.com/un-report-shows-lockdowns-created-a-massive-world-hunger-crisis/
Do not think it is only poorer nations that have been adversely affected. The food insufficiency report was related to the USA.
Furthermore, COVID-policies (including deficit spending) have been leading to food shortages and food inflation.
We are seeing food inflation around the world as well as in the USA. Purdue University reports the following:
Domestically average food prices are on the rise. Is it the case that food prices were already on the rise due to inflation and COVID caused a shock to the system, forcing them to skyrocket?
It is typically the case that the price of food, like many products, increase over time. For example, in the five years before the pandemic, on average, the price of food bought through grocery for at home consumption increased an average of 0.2% from one year to the next.
We became accustomed to some historically very low rates of food price inflation. The pandemic stopped that and really accelerated the rate of price increases.
How did COVID contribute to a rise in food prices?
There are a variety of COVID-related factors that led to food price increases.
- First, people initially demanded more food through grocery and “stocked up,” and this led to price increases in grocery.
- Regulatory issues, supply chain bottlenecks, and lack of packaging and transportation contributed to the rising prices.
- Shortly after the initial “run” on grocery, many large beef and pork packing plants shut down last April and May, leading to a reduction in supply of these products, which pushed up prices.
- Wage rates have increased in the grocery and food processing sectors (in part to induce people to continue to work during COVID when other areas of the economy were able to work from home), and that has contributed to higher prices. https://ag.purdue.edu/stories/food-prices-and-covid-agricultural-economics-professor-breaks-down-rising-food-prices/ accessed 07/17/21
It should be understood that COIVD-19 policies, not COVID-19 itself, have caused the economic problems, plus also have increased food insecurity.
Food inflation is consistent with a prophecy in the Book of Revelation related to the third horseman that tells of a time that indicates there will be food, but that it will be quite expensive (food-price inflation):
5 When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” (Revelation 6:5-6)
The situation the world now faces will, at least for a time, worsen. But we are not quite to the start of the ride of that horseman yet.
When it happens, various ones will die as they will not be able to afford it, while others will survive but struggle.
The old Worldwide Church of God published the following:
FEEDING THE BLACK HORSE OF FAMINE
Centuries ago the greatest prophet, forecaster, and newscaster who ever lived described in vivid detail the most climactic period in all of man’s existence. The prophet, Jesus Christ, was referring to events immediately preceding the end or consummation of this present era of human history.
His answer came in response to His disciples’ question: “Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” (Matt. 24:3.)
Jesus spoke of several major events that would signal the beginning of this troubled period. After false prophets and wars came a third significant indicator: “… and there will be famines” (Matt. 24:7).
Some 60 years later, Christ further elaborated on this description when He gave the apostle John the prophecies concerning the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the sixth chapter of the ‘book of Revelation. Again the same basic sequence of events is described. Following the white horse representing false Christs and the red horse of war comes the black horse of famine: “And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine” (Rev. 6:5-6, KJV).
Unprecedented Famine
There have always been famines, but there have never been famines the likes of which the world is currently experiencing. Usually famines of the past came in conjunction with droughts, wars, and other natural or man-made disturbances. They were cyclical in nature. Today worldwide famine is built into the structure of world society. Famine is now a way of life for millions of people. Weather fluctuations, wars and crop failures only serve to exacerbate existing conditions.
Today’s famines also differ in both nature and size from those of the past. Never before did multiple hundreds of millions of people suffer from hunger and malnutrition at any given period in history as they do today. As Paul and Arthur Simon wrote in The Politics of World Hunger: “The population explosion has produced stress and deprivation on a scale without precedent, as well as a momentum of growth that boggles the mind” (p. 51).
So Jesus Christ was not merely guessing about future famines. He was describing an age of human existence that was unique from all others in which widespread famine was only one of many interrelated events. In the 24th chapter of Matthew, He made this clear when He said: “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be” (verse 21).
The prophet Jeremiah describes this tumultuous age as follows: “Alas! that day is so great there is none like it; it is a time of distress for Jacob …” (Jer. 30:7).
Daniel likewise wrote: “And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time” (Dan. 12:1).
Today, modern-day prophets have finally caught up with the patriarchs of old. Notice what Robert McNamara says about this era of world history: “We have to see the population problem as part … of a much wider social and political crisis that grows deeper with each decade and threatens to round off this century with years of unrest and turbulence, a ‘time of troubles’ [emphasis ours] during which the forces of historical change threaten our frail twentieth century society with disintegration.”
Also, Georg Borgstrom states: “As a human race we are heading for Supreme Disaster, and the great challenge to our generation is to avert this calamity. It has to be done in this crucial century, or mankind may well deprive itself of both its future and its history.” (4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse – The Black Horse – Famine. WCG booklet, 1976)
COVID-19 policies are sort of a ‘self-inflicted’ wound that is contributing to food shortages. People are suffering because of them. Sadly, it looks like more will as well.
We know more hunger is coming as Jesus said:
11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; (Luke 21:11a)
What should Christians who are not hungry do?
Other than take preparatory steps for their own family (see Physical Preparation Scriptures for Christians), the Bible also teaches:
27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. (Proverbs 3:27)
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:9-10)
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:14-17)
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22)
Those who believe the Bible are to do good as soon as we can, to the extent that we can.
Hunger and food inflation are not the only negative effects of misguided COVID policies. Notice the following report:
Five Times More Children Committed Suicide Than Died Of COVID-19 During Lockdown: UK Study
July 17, 2021
Five times more children and young people committed suicide than died of COVID-19 during the first year of the pandemic in the United Kingdom, according to a study, which also concluded that lockdowns are more detrimental to children’s health than the virus itself.
Researchers with the University College London, the University of York, the University of Liverpool, and the University of Bristol found in a study (pdf) that has not yet been peer-reviewed that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, otherwise known as the coronavirus, doesn’t appear to present a significant risk to children as compared with other age groups.
The study concluded:
“The risk of removal of CYP (children and young people) from their normal activities across education and social events may prove a greater risk than that of SARS-CoV-2 itself.”
SARS-CoV-2 is another name for the CCP virus.
It was revealed in the study that only 25 children under the age of 18 died of COVID-19 from the start of the pandemic until the end of February 2021. Around 61 children in all died after testing positive, but in 36 cases it was found the virus “did not contribute to their death.”
But during the same time period, there were 124 suicides among children and 268 deaths from trauma, the study authors found, while noting the virus is “rarely fatal” for children. https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/five-times-more-children-committed-suicide-died-covid-19-during-lockdown-uk-study
Christians are not to commit suicide (see also: Suicides: Can God save Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade?) nor live like those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
The use of fear, as opposed to encouraging people to strengthen their immune systems and pray to God, greatly impacted many.
Related to dealing with fear, the Continuing Church of God put out the following sermon on its ContinuingCOG channel:
Billions of people are afraid for many reasons, including COVID-19. Are any fears good? Are there mindless fears and phobias? Can autosuggestion be deceptive? Can you deal with mental torment? What are some causes of bad dreams (nightmares)? Does Satan try to exploit fears through his lies? Can the weak become strong? Were Christ’s disciples ever fearful? Are there biblical ways to deal with fear? What about spiritual fear and the ‘fear of God’? The late evangelists Dr. Herman Hoeh had an article published in 1955 titled ‘How to Conquer Your Fears?’ What are eight steps from the Apostle Peter? What did Jesus teach about worry? Are most Christians Philadelphian? What did Jesus teach about fear? What is the ultimate biblical fate for cowards? Here a the list of ten steps to help rid yourself of fear: 1. “Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things” (Philippians 4:8). Changing your mental focus will help you push out fear. 2. Develop faith. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). 3. Add virtue to your faith in the power of God. You cannot hide your sins from God (cf. Psalm 90:8). 4. Add to virtue knowledge. Study the word of God, study CCOG literature, pay attention to sermons (ContinuingCOG YouTube sermon channel) and sermonettes (BibleNewsProphecy YouTube sermonette channel). 5. Add self-control to knowledge. Resist Satan and his hopes that you will walk by sight instead of faith. 6. Add patience to self-control. You may have to go through many tests and trials to build patience, but as you get through the tests and trials you should have the faith to recognize that God got you through them and that you do not need to fear. 7. Add godliness to patience. 8. Add to patience, brotherly kindness. “Let Philadelphia continue” (Hebrews 13:1). 9. Add to brotherly kindness, love. 10. Be courageous. “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). This is how YOU can conquer your fears and worries! Ask God for help to carry out His ten-fold plan to attain real peace of mind. Then there is also prayer and fasting. Yes, through God’s help you can rid yourself of fear. This sermon by Dr. Thiel covers these topics and more.

In these stressful times of political immorality, censorship, and COVID-19 restrictions, remember that Jesus taught:
32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32)
33 … In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33b)
Yes, many of us are facing various tribulations, but as Christians we need to “be of good cheer.”
Notice something about COVID vaccines:
Euro Study: Clot Risk to 18-39s from AstraZeneca Vaccine is TWICE as High as Covid Death Risk
July 16, 2021
A new modelling study published in the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s (ECDC) medical journal has concluded that the dangers presented to younger people by the AstraZeneca vaccine are greater than the benefits.
The study, published in the weekly edition of the Eurosurveillance journal, models four months of a vaccine distribution strategy in France involving Vaxzevria (commonly called AstraZeneca) from May 2021, and concludes that using the vaccine on the entire adult population there would avert 10 deaths from Covid among 18-39-year-olds, but would be associated with 21 deaths from blood clotting in the same age grouping over the same time period.
“Our results highlight the clear benefit of the distribution of Vaxzevria towards the population aged 55 years and older and provide valuable insight for public health decision making,” the study concludes. https://humansarefree.com/2021/07/study-clot-risk-from-astrazeneca-vaccine.html
Many, supposedly well-intentioned, COVID policies have had a lot of unintended consequences.
The Bible warns:
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12).
This does not mean that all governmental actions are bad.
But this world’s governments do not have the true solutions.
Jesus, however, does.
We all need the Kingdom of God that Jesus preached (cf. Mark 1:14).

COVID 19 is NOT the End, but could it be TEOTWAWKI? The novel coronavirus called COVID-19 is wreaking havoc around the world. Many states of the USA as well as countries in Europe are on lockdown with shelter in place /shelter in residence requirements. In France, a form is required when you are not at your house. In Spain, drones are being used to warn people who are outside to got back to their homes–does that bring up feelings of ‘Big Brother’? Italy, France, and other areas are using police and/or military force to encourage people to stay inside. According to the Bible could this be the end? If not, what has to happen first? Have the second and third of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse started their ride? Could COVID-19 be the fourth horseman? Why or why not? COVID-19 Leading to 666? The novel coronavirus of Wuhan, China fame, is now called COVID-19. It has also been called the ‘Coronapocalypse.’ Does COVID-19 have any prophetic ramifications? Why was this type of disease expected according to the O. Here is a link to a version in the Spanish language: ld Testament prophecies in Deuteronomy and Leviticus? The US Federal Reserve is now quarantining money repatriated from Asia to reduce the potential spread of the coronavirus on US currency bills. Is COVID-19 worse than we have been told or could this all be a ‘false flag’ event to encourage people to move towards a cashless society? If the thousands of deaths associated with COVID-19 are pushing parts of the world towards cashlessness, how much more likely will the ride of the fourth horseman and over a billion human deaths motivate people to move to making electronic payments that can be monitored? The Bible tells of a soon coming society that controls buying and selling to force allegiance to a coming European Beast power, known as 666 (Revelation 13:16-18). Does the ‘great tribulation’ begin before ride of the fourth horseman or with the opening of the fifth seal of Revelation 6? Do the words of Jesus helps us better understand the sequence of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and the start of the Great Tribulation? Will the ride of the fourth horseman help lead to the rise of 666? Is that ride very close? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more in this video.
