‘US Hands Control of Bagram Airfield to Afghan National Security Forces’

US President Joe Biden announced that he will be pulling US troops out of Afghanistan yesterday. The BBC report that the Taliban have claimed that as victory:
US Hands Control of Bagram Airfield to Afghan National Security Forces
July 2, 2021
U.S. forces have left Bagram Airfield, the main American base in Afghanistan, and handed control over to Afghan National Security Forces, a U.S. defense official confirmed to VOA.
For nearly two decades the base, 60 kilometers north of Kabul, served as the center of the U.S. fight to remove Taliban forces from power and take down al-Qaida terrorists responsible for killing thousands of Americans on Sept. 11, 2001.
An Afghan Defense ministry spokesman Friday confirmed the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Bagram.
“All coalition and American troops have departed Bagram Air Base last night. The base was handed over to the ANDSF,” tweeted Fawad Aman. He said the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces will protect and use the base to combat terrorism.” …
Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, welcomed the reported announcement.
“We consider this withdrawal a positive step. Afghans can get closer to stability and peace with the full withdrawal of foreign forces,” he told VOA adding that the withdrawal was also beneficial for both the U.S. and Afghans.
Pro-Taliban social media outlets erupted into celebrations as soon as reports of the U.S. military vacating Bagram became public early Friday, declaring it the insurgent victory. https://www.voanews.com/usa/us-hands-control-bagram-airfield-afghan-national-security-forces
Despite claims of control of terrorism, the Taliban consider the departure a victory. They said it today as the above shows, and also said so a couple of months ago after Joe Biden announced he would pull US troops out:
15 April 2021
The Taliban believe victory is theirs. Sitting over a cup of green tea, Haji Hekmat proclaims, “we have won the war and America has lost”. The decision by US President Joe Biden to delay the withdrawal of remaining US forces to September, meaning they will remain in the country past the 1 May deadline agreed last year, has sparked a sharp reaction from the Taliban’s political leadership. Nonetheless, momentum seems to be with the militants.
“We are ready for anything,” says Haji Hekmat. “We are totally prepared for peace, and we are fully prepared for jihad.” Sitting next to him, a military commander adds: “Jihad is an act of worship. Worship is something that, however much of it you do, you don’t get tired.”
For the past year, there has been an apparent contradiction in the Taliban’s “jihad”. They stopped attacks on international forces following the signing of an agreement with the US, but continued to fight with the Afghan government. Haji Hekmat, though, insists there is no contradiction. “We want an Islamic government ruled by the Sharia. We will continue our jihad until they accept our demands.”
On whether or not the Taliban would be willing to share power with other Afghan political factions, Haji Hekmat defers to the group’s political leadership in Qatar. “Whatever they decide we will accept,” he repeatedly says.
The Taliban don’t see themselves as a mere rebel group, but as a government-in-waiting. They refer to themselves as the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,” the name they used when in power from 1996 until being overthrown in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-56747158
Notice something posted here on January 1, 2009:
the following truly is from Nostradamus, and followed with the Comment from a Catholic writer named Yves Dupont:
Quatrain 50:
Under the sign of Libra, America shall reign, Shall hold power in the sky and on land, Shall never perish under Asian forces, Until seven Pontificates have passed. (Yves Dupont, p.94)
Comment: As a great world power, the U.S.A. began its “reign” during the first World War–but it was not the greatest world power; in 1918 … In 1945, however, the U.S.A. was, by and large, the greatest world power. I think it is from the reign of Pius XII that the seven Pontificates must be counted, and this brings us to the last Pope according to St. Malachy’s list–when the world will end. (comment is from the Catholic writer Yves Dupont personally in 1973, Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement, p.94)
It appears that these Catholic writings suggest that the end of the USA will thus be in the 21st century as that is when the last pope would need to appear. As far as Asian forces go, this could be interpreted to include terrorists from places like Afghanistan and others parts of Asia (Thiel B. Nostradamus’ Predictions of Obama: A Hoax? COGwriter, January 1, 2009)
Now with the USA apparently going to pull all troops out with the Taliban active and anticipating further action, in a sense, then America has been defeated by “Asian forces.” And irrespective of Nostradamus’ writings, the end of the USA is near (watch Is the USA prophesied to be destroyed by 2028?).
Some additional history may be helpful.
After the 9/11/01 terrorist attack, with George Bush as president, the USA kicked the Taliban out of the top leadership of Afghanistan. The Taliban, reportedly, was at least partially involved with assisting/planning the 9/11 attacks.
Yet, despite the USA changing the government of Afghanistan, Taliban still remain in that nation.
That is something I have long expected.
Back on 1/27/18, I posted:
Islamists figured out some time ago that they can often outlast the USA if they wait long enough. Although President Obama said that the Taliban was defeated, it does not act like it accepted that ‘defeat.’ (Thiel B. Taliban terrorist kills close to 100 in Afghanistan. COGwriter, January 27, 2018)
It was back in 2012, that Barack Obama essentially claimed victory for the USA in Afghanistan (cf. https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2012/05/01/obama-afghanistan-speech/).
I have warned for some time that the situation in Afghanistan was not going as well as the USA has publicly declared or hoped.
Back on March 9, 2013 (see Taliban suicide bombing in Afghanistan: Considered to be a warning?), I wrote:
Unless the USA keeps enough troops in Afghanistan (which it is not intending to do), the situation there will change to something that the USA has claimed that it does not want. The Taliban, other Islamic groups, and tribal leaders will pretty much insure that.
Notice a news item from the past:
October 26, 2014
Officials with the U.S.-led coalition say the Afghan forces held their own this summer fighting season and did not lose any significant ground.
“I’m cautiously optimistic they will be able to sustain themselves,” said Brig. Gen Daniel Yoo, the commander of Regional Command (Southwest), said of the Afghan forces.
He said the success of the Afghan security army and police depended on leadership, continued development of logistics and confidence.
“They’ve got to want it more than we do,” he said of Afghan forces that have been losing hundreds of soldiers and policemen each month in battles, assassinations and suicide attacks by insurgents. http://www.voanews.com/content/afghanistan-troop-withdrawal-us-marines-british-combat-forces/2496918.html
In response to the above on October 26, 2014 (see USA and UK cease combat operations in Afghanistan: What’s next?), I wrote:
The ceasing of combat operations by the UK and USA is not a victory in Afghanistan. It is a pause so that troops can be pulled out. It will not bring real peace to the region. At least some in Afghanistan will likely support the rise of a leader that the Bible refers to as the final King of the South.
On April 22, 2015, I wrote (see Taliban to begin new offensive in Afghanistan):
The USA did not defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan–it basically ‘kicked the can further down the road.’ After seeing what happened to Iraq after the USA ceased ‘combat operations’ this should make it clear that Afghanistan is not secure. …
Since the Bible prophesies terrorism and we may well see more coming in and/or from Afghanistan.
On January 10, 2016, I posted (see VOA: ‘A Try for Peace in Afghanistan as 4 Nations Meet’):
The Taliban wants to control Afghanistan. They do not just want peace in some section. The “political solution” that Afghanistan needs is the Kingdom of God. …
There will be no lasting peace in Afghanistan. As I have repeatedly written, Afghanistan needs the Kingdom of God.
Expect to see some shifts in Afghanistan as it likely will give some support to the final caliphate known as the King of the South of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43).
In April, 2017, US President Donald Trump authorized the dropping of something sometimes called ‘the mother of all bombs’ in Afghanistan against suspected terrorists. Here is something I wrote about that (see M.O.A.B. Apocalypse? Trump triggering WWIII? ‘North Korea threatens pre-emptive nuclear strike’):
The release of M.O.A.B. on Afghanistan seems to be another message. … What Donald Trump has been doing is NOT about to spark WWIII …
The bomb sent a message that Donald Trump would be willing to take military action, it did not spark WWIII, but it also did not stop terrorism in Afghanistan.
On June 3, 2017, I posted (see Afghanistan: Clashes, terror, quagmire, and death):
The situation in Afghanistan is not encouraging.
There will be no lasting peace in Afghanistan–though a temporal peace is likely to affect it and elsewhere (cf. Daniel 9:27; see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).
Afghanistan has been called the USA’s longest running war. And the USA has not been able to bring peace. Afghanistan is a mountainous region that is broken up into various tribal areas. Afghanistan was a financial drain on the old Soviet Union and some believe that this is part of the reason the Soviet Union finally broke up.
Afghanistan is not secure. Afghanistan needs the Kingdom of God.
The situation in Afghanistan is going to change. I believe that more terrorists will be trained in Afghanistan.
The reality is that all the fighting, killing, and terrorism in the Middle East and North Africa have been getting political and religious leaders to rethink their approach to the region. But not to turn to the Bible.
Lest this post seem to be related to one political party or the other in the USA, let me add that Donald Trump agreed to pull US troops out of Afghanistan this year–though some thought he would delay that. Democrat Joe Biden is basically implementing a policy that Republican Donald Trump put forth–which was consistent with what I warned about years ago.
That being said, the time will come when a confederation of nations from North Africa and the Middle East will form, which the Bible refers to as the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43). Political leaders outside of the region apparently will support this. Though this will not end well for the participants (cf. Daniel 11:39-43; Ezekiel 30:2-8).
The Taliban’s statements and celebrations show that the USA did not get the political solution it wanted in Afghanistan.
The Bible shows that terrorism is prophesied:
14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. (Leviticus 26:14-17)
12 “Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)
12 Behold, these are the ungodly, Who are always at ease; They increase in riches…19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. (Psalms 73:12,19)
25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)
5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way (Ecclesiastes 12:5).
The Bible prophesies terrorism and we will be seeing terrorism in (and from) Afghanistan (see also Psalm 83, Why Terrorism? Is Terrorism Prophesied?, and Is the Future King of the South Rising Up?).
Changes will come to Afghanistan and the end of the USA is coming relatively soon.
