The U.S. Secretary of Defense is admitting that the U.S.A. has neglected its nuclear weapons deterrent and its military has morale problems:

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says U.S. nuclear arsenal personnel are suffering from low morale, mismanagement and staffing shortages that could undermine the group’s safety, security and effectiveness.

In announcing Pentagon reviews of the nuclear mission, Hagel told reporters on Friday there has been a consistent lack of investment and support for the U.S. nuclear force.

He said he is ordering widespread changes to how the nuclear arsenal is managed to reverse leadership lapses, security flaws and sagging morale.

Secretary Hagel also vowed to invest in and bolster the force, saying there is nothing that officials cannot fix. He said the Pentagon plans to make billions of dollars in additional investments in the U.S. nuclear mission over the next five years.

Hagel called for the reviews following a series of troubling incidents involving nuclear personnel. (Reuters) – Billions of dollars are needed in the next five years to ensure the security and effectiveness of the ageing U.S. nuclear deterrent, the Pentagon said on Friday, after reviews found evidence of neglect during years of conventional warfare.

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, announcing an overhaul of the system, said Americans had never been endangered.

“We have just kind of taken our eye off the ball here…,” he said. “As long as we have nuclear weapons we must ensure that they are safe, secure and effective.”

Systematic problems had been found that could undermine the security and effectiveness of the arsenal, Hagel said. He blamed “lack of sustained focus, attention and resources.”

The reviews, which followed a series of disciplinary incidents, showed a force “understaffed, under-resourced and reliant on an aging and fragile supporting infrastructure in an over-inspected and overly risk-averse environment,” the Pentagon said. …

Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work said while it was President Barack Obama’s policy to push for eventual elimination of nuclear weapons throughout the world, investment was needed to maintain the deterrent until it can be replaced in the 2020s.

Over five years ago, I warned:

An increase of military action in Afghanistan, which President Obama has called for, may stretch U.S.A. military commitments. (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009, p. 147)

And that has happened.

Why is that a risk? Because of what I immediately warned of following that statement:

Because of domestic economic concerns and international pressures, Barack Obama is shifting priorities away from defense spending, while encouraging the Europeans to increase their military might. This will help lead to the destruction of the United States, when the Europeans are ready and the U.S.A. is not. (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009, p. 147)

Secretary of Defense Hagel is complaining about neglect for the past five years. The Obama Administration has been in place for close to six year now.

The LGM-30G Minuteman-III version is now the only land-based ICBM nuclear missile in service in the United States–the U.S.A. used to have different nuclear ICBMs–and this is NOT all because of the Obama Administration. Simply having one also increases risk to the U.S.A.

The Obama Administration, itself, has frequently pressured the Europeans to increase their military might, while also taking steps to share much U.S.A. military and espionage information with the Europeans (see also World War III: Steps in Progress).

The European Union is planning on improving its economy and position in the world via technology and research. It is hoping to have more of the pieces together by 2020. And despite its flaws, for a short time, the European power will dominate the world per Revelation 13, 17, and 18. Europe is moving forward with its research, space, governmental, and military plans and few in the USA seem to realize that when it gets enough power, the USA will lose all of its.

While the U.S.A. believes it can resolve its problems with various plans, the reality is that it will be hit when it is perceived to be weakest–which could be shortly before new nuclear or other weapons are considered to be fully operational.

The world is starting to consider Europe, or at least part of it, as a leader.

GfK found other key factors helped put Germany on top, including its leading role in European politics, strong economic performance and high-profile international engagement. Interestingly, Germany, the nation that was highly responsible for two world wars last century, is now the most favorably viewed nation in the world.

The Snowden revelations greatly have affected how many view the U.S.A. (see also The Snowden Leaks are Leading to the Destruction of the USA). There are many reasons that we are seeing a shift away for the U.S.A. And that will not end well for the U.S.A. (Daniel 11:39) nor its Anglo-Saxon descended allies (Jeremiah 30:7).

The statements today by Secretary Hagel show that the U.S.A. has, and therefore can again, neglect significant portions of its military defense. This weakness will be exploited in the future.
