The EU’s first permanent president, Herman Van Rompuy, is reaching out to Russia:

EU: We’re a better partner for Russia

ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia, June 2 (UPI) — Europeans are better suited than Americans to partner Russia’s drive for a more competitive and diversified economy, the president of the EU has indicated.

EU President Herman Van Rompuy referred to the Obama administration’s “reset” of relations with Russia when he said, “We don’t need a reset. We want a fast-forward,” The Moscow Times reports.

Rompuy made the statement following a two-day EU-Russian summit on President Dmitry Medvedev’s efforts to reform his country by launching a modernization program.

The summit emphasized economic and trade issues.

The EU as a whole is Russia’s largest trading partner.

Americans who see Europe as a partner should realize that Europe sees the USA as a competitor. And a competitor that it intends to beat. Perhaps the comments from Europe’s President will get some to wake up to the reality of what really is being built in Europe–the final Beast power that Revelation 13 warns about.

Various parts of the Bible indicate that Russia and the EU will have cooperation for a time. But eventually, Russia will figure out that the final European Beast power is not what it pretends to be and Russia (and its allies) will turn on Europe (Daniel 11:44-45).

But until that time, additional cooperation is expected and Herman Van Rompuy’s stance is consistent with biblical prophecy in this area.
