Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen opened the summit with a call for unity both in the region and globally.

During a speech at the opening ceremony in Phnom Penh, Hun Sen, praised the bloc and its diplomatic efforts to ensure peace.

China Puts Belt & Road Back on ASEAN Agenda

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA — 

China on Thursday announced approval for a slew of infrastructure projects in mainland Southeast Asia at this year’s round of Association of Southeast Asian Nations summits, being held here this week, signaling its Belt and Road Initiative is moving back on track after a hiatus of almost three years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among them is a $1.6 billion expressway to be built from Phnom Penh to Bavet, at the Cambodian-Vietnamese border, and backing for a rail link between Phnom Penh, Bangkok and Vientiane, Laos, from which a high-speed rail link has already been constructed into China.

Cambodian Public Works and Transport Minister Sun Chanthol said during the signing ceremony that the expressway would hook up with Vietnam’s expressway between Ho Chi Minh City and the Moc Bai border gate with Bavet.

Both are expected to be completed by the end of 2026 or early 2027, he said, and to form a vital link with Asian Highway 1, connecting China through Myanmar to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

“The expressway will be 138 kilometers long, with one long bridge,” Sun Chanthol said. “The estimated cost is just a little less than that of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, though its length is shorter.”

A $2 billion, Chinese built, 187-kilometer expressway from the capital to the southern port city of Sihanoukville, cutting the five-hour road trip in half, was officially opened by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Premier Li Keqiangon on Wednesday.

The expressways are also expected to link with a new Phnom Penh international airport, which is being constructed under the Belt and Road Initiative by the China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co,, and is expected to be operational by 2025. …

Ross Milosevic, a risk consultant with R&R International Group said the Bavet expressway would complete China’s Belt and Road Initiative ambitions in Cambodia’s east, while the rail line would extend its reach to the west and into Thailand, from which it would like to head southward into Malaysia. https://www.voanews.com/a/china-puts-bri-back-on-asean-agenda/6830045.html

ASEAN now consists of 11 nations: Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. But it also has ties to other groups:

A major partner of UN, SCO, PA, GCC, MERCOSUR, CELAC and ECO,[13] ASEAN maintains a global network of alliances and dialogue partners and is considered by many as a global powerhouse,[14][15] the central union for cooperation in Asia-Pacific, and a prominent and influential organization. EAEU, One Belt, One Road project made great progress in joint development — Lavrov

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China’s One Belt, One Road initiative have made significant steps towards joint development, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday. He was talking to the participants of a high-level video conference on cooperation as part of the One Belt and One Road Initiative in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Our Chinese friends are successfully implementing the large-scale One Belt and One Road project aimed at strengthening infrastructure connectivity and ensuring sustainable growth. In turn, the integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union are being effectively implemented. We have made significant progress in combining the plans for the development of the EAEU and the construction of the One Belt, One Road project. In particular, the implementation of the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and China continues,” the minister said. …

“The initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the creation of a Greater Eurasian Partnership – an “umbrella” format that involves the unification of the potentials of states and international organizations, primarily the EAEU, SCO and ASEAN is aimed at implementing this task. In this regard, the agreement between the leaders of Russia and China regarding coordinated promotion of the Greater Eurasian Partnership and the One Belt, One Road project is extremely important,” Lavrov concluded. https://tass.com/politics/1306485

While much of the mainstream media in the USA seems focused on internal politics, much of the world is moving towards a type of integration that will result in the final time of the Gentiles (Luke 21:24; see also The Times of the Gentiles) and the end of Anglo-American dominance.

China is actually building roads and ports to be able to better trade across Asia and into Europe and Africa, and even South America. It does not want to have any need for the USA.

While the European Union is not part of Asia, China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative (also called the Silk Road project), the Chinese project also connects Europe to more locations in Asia–and Europe itself has pledged to make more connections to Asia (see ‘Will the United States and Europe Break Up Over China?’)–and has pledged money to do so (see ‘The European Union has unveiled its €300 billion ($340 billion) alternative to China’s Belt and Road initiative’). Such European involvement may not be so much as an alternative, but intercomplementary as roads normally run in two directions.

Based upon several biblical prophecies, I have long written that the Asians and Europeans will cooperate, for a time, and eliminate the USA and its Anglo-Saxon descended allies. They will divide their lands among them per Daniel 11:39, and many of the survivors will be made slaves (for more detail check out the article Will the Anglo-Saxon Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?).

Notice also the following prophecies from the Old and New Testaments:

23 ‘Make a chain,
For the land is filled with crimes of blood,
And the city is full of violence.
24 Therefore I will bring the worst of the Gentiles,
And they will possess their houses;
I will cause the pomp of the strong to cease,
And their holy places shall be defiled.
25 Destruction comes;
They will seek peace, but there shall be none. (Ezekiel 7:23-25)

23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. (Luke 21:23-24)

2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. (Revelation 11:2)

Notice that Ezekiel, Jesus (whose words are recorded in Luke), and John (who penned Revelation) were talking about the same time.

The time of Gentile domination is prophesied (Ezekiel 7:24, 30:1-3, 34:25-30; Jeremiah 10:25; Luke 21:23-24; Revelation 11:2)–though it is not quite here yet. It will be here for the 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.

The Great Tribulation itself is further described in Revelation 6:9-11 (the fifth seal, that seems to occur because the faithful church has suffered martyrdom, cf. Daniel 11:31-35; Matthew 24:9-10), Lamentations, Daniel, and other parts of the Bible. It starts with Matthew 24:21 and Daniel 11:39.

Some would call this World War III (WWIII; see also World War III: Steps in Progress and/or watch Is World War III About to Begin? Can You Escape?).

What is commonly known as ‘Armageddon’ could perhaps be called WWIV. Armageddon will involve military cooperation between many nations in Asia and will require roads and ports–and China is continuing to work on developing them.

Yes, steps towards Armageddon and the final time of the Gentiles are happening. Yet, most of the mainstream media seems oblivious to this as they do not respect the Bible nor understand how world events are aligning with many of its prophecies.

As Jesus said: “And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:37).
