Chinese Military on Target to Surpass US, Russia

It is only a matter of time before China’s plan to replace the United States as the world’s preeminent military becomes reality, a top U.S. general warned, calling on the Washington and its allies to speed efforts to counter Beijing’s bid for dominance.

General John Hyten, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Washington’s second-most-senior military officer, called the rapid rise of the Chinese military “stunning.”

“The pace they’re moving and the trajectory that they’re on will surpass Russia and the United States if we don’t do something to change it,” he told the Defense Writers Group on Thursday, responding to a question from VOA.

“We have to do something,” he added.

The warning from Hyten, who is set to retire next month, comes a day after the top U.S. military officer publicly confirmed that China tested a hypersonic weapon system in July, sending a glider around the world at five times the speed of sound.

General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Bloomberg Television on Wednesday the Chinese test was “very concerning.”

“I don’t know if it’s quite a Sputnik moment, but I think it’s very close to that,” Milley added, referring to Russia’s launch of the world’s first artificial satellite in the 1950s. So, another call for the USA to focus more on China’s military capabilities.

Yes, the USA is pivoting towards China and that has not escaped the notice of the Europeans. Here was something related to France and the AUKUS deal last month:

Now, France can feel vindicated in that stance, she said, with Biden proving that “when (the United States) makes a decision, they will go ahead with it and they won’t think twice about their allies.” …

The Europeans were already angry about the Snowden leaks during the Obama-Biden Administration, their exclusion from the Five Eyes alliance (which is the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand), and the fact of Donald Trump’s presidency.

As USA leaders make more and more public statements about perceived threats from China, the Europeans will more and more conclude that they have to defend themselves and be able to function militarily in a manner independent of the USA.

AUKUS sparking European military

In September 2021, US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a new military partnership called AUKUS. This announcement upset the French and the European Union, which is not part of it. Could AUKUS be another spark for the Europeans to develop their own joint military? What have European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and former German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel called for? Could having the Europeans increase their military capacity and technology and be dangerous? Is the European King of the North, also called the King of Assyria, prophesied to destroy the USA (Daniel 11:39) and its British-descended allies? What could stop that? Is national or personal repentance possible? Do the nations need Jesus or military alliances?

Now with the USA publicly alarmed about China’s military and hypersonic capabilities, it will pivot more towards Asia and further away from Europe. Though it will make some efforts towards the Europeans, they will not be placated, Europe will end up with a “great army” (Daniel 11:25) and “many ships” (Daniel 11:40).

That being said, the Bible DOES NOT show that China will become the world’s leading military power.

For a time, the Bible shows that after the coming European King of the North Beast power conquers the USA (Daniel 11:39) as well as an upcoming Middle East confederation (Daniel 11:40-43), the European power will be considered, for a time, as the leading military power by the world (cf. Revelation 13:3-4).

However, this will not last.

Europe will then be destroyed by a power led by Russia along with China and others in Asia.

Anyway, partially because of the perceived threat from China, the USA will not be focused to defend itself from what will be coming from Europe.

Biblical prophecies will be fulfilled.
