‘Welcome to the U.S.S.A.’s Banquet of Consequences’

COGwriter

The rock group called the Beatles had a hit with a song titled Back in the U.S.S.R.

In 1997, a book came out titled Back in the USSA. It was a fictional account of what could have happened if the USA became communist in 1917. USSA stands for the United Socialist States of America.

Anyway, while that book is fiction, the reality is that the USA is getting more and more socialist.

Here is a view of what has been happening in the USA, with a different definition of what U.S.S.A. stands for:

Welcome to the U.S.S.A.’s Banquet of Consequences

When I mention that the U.S.A. feels increasingly like the U.S.S.R., a surprising number of people tell me they feel the same way. Welcome to the U.S.S.A.: United Simulacra States of America where everything is an absurdly transparent simulation with little connection to reality and dissent is crushed by an everpresent, ubiquitous narrative police state enforced by the union of Big Tech social media, search and other monopolies and the Savior State: do what we tell you and you’ll get a piece of our endlessly spewed trillions. …

The USSA has not yet admitted that the decay of its socio-economic order is unstoppable, and so the internal gulag has yet to be breached. But artifice is not a substitute for reality, and what’s unsustainable (hyper-normalized artifice) unravels very quickly once the first thread is pulled.

The USSR took 20 years to unravel, but 19 years of the decay were hidden by an increasingly disconnected-from-reality simulacra of “success” and competence: the USSR lost the race to the moon in 1969 and 20 years later two decades of decay led to collapse.

The USSA responded to the dot-com crash of 2000 with artifice and propaganda, an absurdly transparent simulacra of “success” and competence. Twenty years of decay has brought us to the precipice of collapse, and the internal gulag of TINA–there is no alternative– is fraying.

The incontestable incompetence of the USSA’s monopolies, institutions and agencies is about to take center stage in 2021. The sociology of collapse will be followed by a not-be-missed banquet of consequences. 12/08/20 https://www.oftwominds.com/blogdec20/USSA12-20.html

The reality is that yes, the economy of the USA keeps getting more and more artificial stimulus in the way of increased debt and money supply. The Bible shows that debt will be a factor in its coming destruction (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).

Furthermore, the USA is also becoming more and more socialist. It has more and more government controls.

Notice, for example, the following from a couple of weeks ago:

Apparently, for the ‘good’ of society, if enough people in New York won’t willingly submit to taking a vaccine that is completely unnecessary for the large majority of the population, then lawmakers will have to force citizens to take it…. For their own good. …

The bill states, “If public health officials determine that residents of the state are not developing sufficient immunity from COVID-19, the department shall mandate vaccination for all individuals.”

The text of the bill also states, in part, “if public health officials determine that residents of the state are not developing sufficient immunity from COVID-19, the department shall mandate vaccination for all individuals or groups of individuals who, as shown by clinical data, are proven to be safe to receive such  vaccine.” https://ussanews.com/News1/2020/12/10/ny-lawmaker-introduces-bill-to-force-vaccinate-if-residents-wont-submit/

That is a socialist/communist attitude. My immunity is fine, and should not require a COVID vaccine. This should not be a government decision, particularly in the intent of the US Constitution and its Declaration of Independence.

We have seen less and less respect for what were supposed to be constitutionally protected freedoms in the USA in 2020, which various leaders tried to justify because of COVID-19.

But, this is not just a 2020 phenomena. Nice something from 2018:

The Capitalism Crisis: Is America Really Turning Socialist?

There’s been an awful lot of scribble and chatter lately about a recent Gallup survey purporting to show that America, Democrats especially, are becoming more enamored of socialism.

Here’s how the polling firm describes it: “For the first time in Gallup’s measurement over the past decade, Democrats have a more positive image of socialism than they do of capitalism. Attitudes toward socialism among Democrats have not changed materially since 2010, with 57% today having a positive view. The major change among Democrats has been a less upbeat attitude toward capitalism, dropping to 47% positive this year—lower than in any of the three previous measures.”

To put it differently, and in a way more relevant to the current political climate, Democrats are losing faith in capitalism, not growing more attached to socialism. That matters because of the consequences for both parties. …

From the beginning of the industrial revolution to the onset of the New Deal, socialism thrived as a viable thread in the national politics and as a leading cause of reform. Then the movement was subsumed into the Democratic Party as part of FDR’s grand coalition and has remained there ever since. What’s pushing it back out onto its own is not so much the rise of Sanders as it is the failures of Obama. …

Or at least if someone else was paying the bills. Which, when you boil it down, is one of the things most wrong with socialism. As Margaret Thatcher once said, “sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.” Just look at Venezuela.

For conservatives who support the free market—a much-improved way to describe capitalism—the trend identified in this latest Gallup survey provides both an opportunity and a warning. 08/18/18 https://www.newsweek.com/capitalism-crisis-america-really-turning-socialist-opinion-1078427

The USA is certainly more socialist than it was a century ago. And yes, there have been increased moves towards socialism by the federal government in the 21st century. Furthermore, we are seeing more media and political support for ‘Democratic Socialists.”

A major tenant of socialism is that the government needs to manage more things and that ‘society’ needs to fund them. Basically, that is the hope. One problem is that the more socialist a nation tends to become, the less economic production it has.

Humanity’s forms of socialism have not brought utopia.

The USA, and the rest of the world, needs the Kingdom of God (watch also Millennial Utopia).
