WHO: Europe Replaces China as Epicenter of Pandemic

The World Health Organization says Europe has now replaced China as the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters Friday in Geneva that in Europe “more cases are now being reported every day than were reported in China at the height of its epidemic.”

Italy said Friday the number of coronavirus infections soared by more than 2,500 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total numbers infected in the country to 17,660. The number of coronavirus deaths in Italy is 1,266.

New cases and deaths also accelerated Friday in Spain and Germany, while in the United States President Donald Trump declared a national emergency. …

Spain also declared a state of emergency Friday saying it would last two weeks and would allow the military to help the country contain the pandemic. The government Friday put 60,000 people in four towns on mandatory lockdown in measures similar to those taken in Italy. Spain has 4,200 cases of infection with more than 2,000 of them in Madrid. …

So, Europe has become the epicenter and world leaders have agreed to talk about it.

According to the government decree, people will only be allowed to leave their homes to buy food and medicine, commute to work, go to medical centers and banks, or take trips related to the care for the young and the elderly.

Effective immediately, Spain is also closing all restaurants, bars, hotels, schools and universities nationwide, and other non-essential retail outlets, a move some of the hardest-hit communities have already carried out.

France to close all restaurants, cafes, cinemas and clubs due to coronavirus

French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe announced on Saturday that his country will increase social distancing to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a televised press conference, Philippe said that starting at midnight Saturday, all places that are not essential to French living, including restaurants, cafes, cinemas and clubs, will be closed. The situation is parts of Europe is getting more and more difficult.

Donald Trump stopped most Europeans from being able to come to the USA for the next month (see ‘World walls off as leaders warn viral pandemic will worsen’). A headline I saw at a German news site today stated that the Europeans were angry at him for doing so. Donald Trump also stopped various flights from China well before the Europeans did.

Despite European disdain for Donald Trump, should the USA get off relatively unscathed and the EU badly hit, this will get Europeans to consider that a more authoritarian approach to dealing with various crises. Even if the USA does have major problems, if China truly is improving (which is difficult to know for sure), this would be rationale for accepting a more authoritarian leader.

That being said, the Bible clearly prophesies that Europe will reorganize and put a totalitarian dictator in charge:

12 The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

What kind of dictator?

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. 24 He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:21-24)

31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. 32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 34 Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. 35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.

36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:31-39)

When people are desperate enough, they will turn even to the most deceitful leaders to hope they can assist.

As a historical note, consider that ‘the Spanish Flu’ pandemic lasted from about January 1918 to December 1920. COVID-19 may well make a second or third pass after the current situation stabilizes.

Remember that the Bible prophesies a time of MUCH WORSE death from pandemics (Revelation 6:7-8), and this may well be a factor in the rise of the final King of the North Beast power.

A leader, who according to the Bible (cf. Daniel 9:26-27; Revelation 13:1-10) who will be European.

Having Europe as the new epicenter for COVID-19 may well play a factor in his future rise.

The Bible tells of a soon coming society that controls buying and selling to force allegiance to a coming European Beast power, known as 666 (Revelation 13:16-18). Does the ‘great tribulation’ begin before ride of the fourth horseman or with the opening of the fifth seal of Revelation 6?
