LONDON — It has been exactly one year since Theresa May triggered Article 50 and kick-started the Brexit process and now only one year remains until Britain is due to leave. …
With just a year to go until Brexit, May’s government have yet to fully explain how it will fulfil its promise to:
- Avoid a hard Irish border
- Secure a tariff-free “customs partnership” with the EU that isn’t the customs union
- Make up for the damage caused to financial services by the loss of passporting
- Register 3.7 million European nationals in the space of two years
- Arrange a trade deal with a hostile Trump administration
May and her colleagues insist that solutions to all of these issues can be found in the next 12 months. But, … the already-tight two year schedule to negotiate the broad outline of a deal has become even tighter after a year of delays and fudged commitments. …
The EU’s favoured mantra is that “nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.” That means Brussels won’t sign off a transition deal until the UK will comes up with workable solutions to the Irish border issue, Gibraltar, and other contentious parts of the draft EU Withdrawal Bill that still haven’t been agreed. There are many issues that remain. Including the Irish border and Gibraltar–Spain wants Gibraltar and can veto a deal related to Brexit.
I read something from the Gibraltar press today expressing hope in Theresa May, yet also pointing out that the UK has betrayed Gibraltar in the past (see http://chronicle.gi/2018/03/one-year-before-brexit/). Irrespective of any Brexit deal or lack thereof (called a “hard Brexit”), let me add that Northern Ireland and Gibraltar will one day be controlled by the Europeans, not the British. That is consistent with biblical prophecies such as Deuteronomy 28:58-63 and Jeremiah 30:7.
Today, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) had the following headline and comment:

The real “key barometer is what the Bible says will happen. And the “fear” is more than economic damage.
Consider that a while back, BBC’s Kevin Connolly reported the following (see EU states that UK must pay a price for Brexit and be worse off than EU member states):
The 27 EU Remainer states are adamant that Britain will pay a price for leaving and will be worse off outside than the union than it is on the inside.
Now notice something earlier this month in regards to Brexit and EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker:

The UK will come to “regret” the decision to leave the EU, European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker has warned.
Addressing the European Parliament, Mr Juncker was cheered by Eurosceptic MEPs as he noted the UK’s departure was due on 29 March, 2019.

The EU’s basic position is that the UK wanted to be in the EU, the UK approved the Lisbon treaty, and now the UK does not want to fund the EU as it agreed to, but instead wants to leave.
The EU does not like that at all and essentially blames the UK for any current and future Brexit-related problems.
Maybe this is a good time to look at some statements put out by the writers once part of the old Radio Church of God, old Worldwide Church of God, and/or the current Continuing Church of God related to Europe and the United Kingdom in the 20th and 21st centuries:
Bible prophecy clearly shows that Britain will not be one of the … NATIONS comprising the final United States of Europe (McNair R. A Strong United Europe. Tomorrow’s World, February 1970, p. 17).
What is this abomination? This refers to Daniel 11:31 and Matthew 24:15…That will be a time when the UNITED Europe shall appear–the revival of the medieval “Holy Roman Empire.” We shall then be warned, and readied to be taken to a place of refuge and safety from the Great Tribulation. Forty-five days later “the beasts armies” will surround Jerusalem. Thirty days later the Great Tribulation will probably start with a nuclear attack on London and Britain–and possibly the same day or immediately after, on the United States and Canadian cities. The GREAT TRIBULATION, we shall fully then realize, is the time of “Jacob’s Trouble,” spoken of in Jeremiah 30:7. And Jacob’s name was named on Joseph’s sons, Ephraim and Manasseh (Gen. 48:16). At that time a third of the people in our nations will die, or shall have died, by famine and disease epidemics; another third will dies of the war–our cities being destroyed (Ezek. 6:6), and the remaining third will be carried to the land of our enemies as slaves (Ezek. 5:12). Perhaps it should be mentioned that the general position within the Churches of God is that Britain will not remain in the EU and will pull out at some point. (Thiel B. It should be understood that ultimately, Britain will NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power–yet its former Prime Minister is promoting something that will not help the peoples of the UK. Ephraim (modern Great Britain) will not be part of the “Beast” power, so we can expect some significant change that will push the British out of the EU. (Davis. D. Ireland says “No!” to EU power grab. Commentary, July, 1 2008)
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not be an equal part of the European Union. Britain will either pull out or be forced out or at least truly lose its sovereignty. Many of the Anglo-peoples of the UK, USA, etc. that are not killed will to be scattered and many will be made slaves (Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?). That is what the Bible shows will happen during the Great Tribulation.
As far as this “Beast King” goes, he could possibly be the next EU president, but a restructure ultimately will be needed in Europe for the King of the North to have the type of power that the Bible indicate he will have (Revelation 17:12-13). The EU is not ready for that yet.
However, Tony Blair’s statements today are pointing to one more step towards certain biblical prophesies being fulfilled as he is realizing that the UK wants to pull out of the UK–and that is something will happen (directly or indirectly).
The final King of the North (Daniel 11:27-40) will take over the UK, USA, and their Anglo-allies according to Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:39). While more people in the UK are starting to realize that the EU poses dangers to it, most have no idea how dangerous the rising Beast power in Europe will become (cf. Revelation 13:1-4; Daniel 11:39). Britain will ultimately NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power. (Thiel B. Most people do NOT realize what will happen in Europe.
Europe is not going to ‘get over’ the Brexit and will one day take actions that most of those in the UK (as well as USA and Canada) will not consider possible (cf. Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).
The final European Beast power will destroy the UK. That is consistent with the following prophecies:
23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. 24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. 25 “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:23-25a)
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39).
While Europe is NOT ready to fulfill the above prophecies for at least four years from now, the Bible teaches that Europe will reorganize (Revelation 17:12) and turn power over to the leader that will fulfill the above prophecies (Revelation 17:13).
The WSJ headline that the UK has much to fear because of Brexit, as well as Jean-Claude Juncker’s statement that the time will come when the UK will regret its Brexit decision, are consistent with what the Bible says will happen to the UK.
While the UK may think it will get a decent Brexit deal, in the end it (along with its main defensive ally, the USA) will get taken over.

Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?
