Authorities in Denmark have shut down much of the country’s access to video platform Bitchute in the name of preventing the spread of “dangerous information” about COVID.
Denmark’s National Police Cyber Crime Center (NC3) petitioned for a court order to block the site and ISPs followed suit by blocking access to users.
“The National Police Cyber Crime Center (NC3) has blocked the homepage that your browser has tried to access contact as there is reason to assume that from the website commits a violation of criminal law, which has a background in or connection with the covid-19 epidemic in Denmark,” states a message users see when trying to access Bitchute.
It then advises the owner of the website that they will have to contact the authorities in order to try to get the website back online.
“The block appears to be site-wide meaning that Danish citizens aren’t just being prevented from viewing alleged COVID-19 misinformation on BitChute – they’re being blocked from viewing any BitChute videos, regardless of the topic,” writes Tom Parker. …
Bitchute is routinely targeted by governments because it provides a platform for controversial content that isn’t permitted on YouTube.
Some ISPs in Australia previously tried to block the site, while Twitter blocked people from posting Bitchute links on its platform last year.
Authorities in the UK and the EU are also trying to get the site shut down, …
This is straight up Communist Chinese-style totalitarianism, but what makes it worse is its timing.

And the reality is that, some supposed misinformation about COVID was telling the truth about possibly ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab–and now more information is coming out showing that “debunked” theories were right and should not have been debunked (e.g. see ‘Politifact Quietly Admits COVID-19 Lab Escape Not ‘Debunked Conspiracy Theory’ and Fauci ‘truth’ book pulled and Tucker Carlson calls him out as a ‘liar’).
It is NOT just governments that are involved in trying to stop various platforms from being up.
Last year, Big Tech essentially shutdown both BitChute and Brighteon near the November 2020 election apparently to stop views it did not like.
Since we in the CCOG have had problems with YouTube and Vimeo (who pulled an accurate and, later confirmed, video of ours related to COVID), we have added other channels for our videos–including Brighteon and BitChute (for a list with links, go to CCOG’s Multimedia page).
Telling the truth, and even religious opinions, continues to come under fire–and many seem fine with blanket censorship, deplatforming, shadow banning, etc.
Loss of freedom to get the truth out related to the word of God was prophesied:
11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)
Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. I do not believe that this means that there will be no more Bibles–but that those wanting to better understand it will have trouble finding explanations.
I have warned for years that government pressures/regulations of the Internet would result in the fulfillment of Amos 8:11-12.
I still stand by that position. And news reports show that governments want to basically do that, as they have sometimes been taking related steps.
The old Worldwide Church of God once, correctly, taught that the reason that the Philadelphian work of God was based out of the USA was because it was the nation that most valued freedom of speech and freedom of the press, Notice something it published about that back in 1981:
THE MOST important work in the world cannot be done without freedom of the press!
What is that work?
It is the work of announcing that God will restore His Government to the whole earth! But before the Government of God is restored, it must first be announced! The good news of that announcement — the Gospel of the Kingdom of God — must be preached (Matthew 24:14) to all nations (Matthew 28:19). And the nations must choose whether they will want it or resist it.
In this day, God has made the MASS media available to accomplish His work. But reaching a mass audience with the good news of God’s soon-coming Government requires the freedom to PUBLISH. Notice Mark 13:10: “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” …
Governmental Reaction
And yet while the Bible places a duty on God’s servants, it also warns that this world — even now and in the future — will not always allow the freedom to publish.
In the past a government’s excuse for persecution was that God’s message IS TOO DISTURBING to be allowed to circulate freely. …
For the future, the Bible prophecy reveals that the time will come when most of this world’s nations will be led by Satan to abolish freedom of the press — and all related freedoms. Why? To prevent any publishing of God’s message from reaching any substantial number of people!
`Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it” (Amos 8:11-12).
Elsewhere the Bible reveals how this prophesied press clampdown will take place. Revelation 13 describes a great religious-civil power that will arise in the place of the old Roman Empire. This prophesied power will not allow free speech, a free press or the free exercise of any religion — except the official religion of the state.
Why Free Press Important
The Gospel is the good news of a government that will REPLACE the governments of this world. Yet replace is a mild word! The prophet Daniel flatly declares that the Government of God will “break in pieces and consume” the nations of this world that resist Him (Daniel 2:44).
The Gospel of the Kingdom of God proclaims that there is a higher power than human government, another and divine government to whom men, whether they know it or not, ultimately owe allegiance. For this reason early Christians were accused of doing “contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus” (Acts 17:7).
No wonder the governments of this world have historically sought to suppress the publishing of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God — for it is ultimately the news of their overthrow by Christ at His return! …
Even if false ideas circulate under freedom of the press, at least God’s Word will also be able to go out unhindered.
Free societies pay a very high price for freedom of the press — pornography circulates freely because human courts say they can’t really tell the difference between pornography and other kinds of writing or expression. This is a very high price — but at least it does insure the free circulation of God’s truth, as well as other religious ideas.
If you grant human government the authority to censor what is printed or spoken, you allow the government to stop any message it doesn’t approve of.
Government tried to suppress Elijah, Amos and Jeremiah; it is prophesied to suppress God’s true Gospel again in the future. The power to censor bad writing easily becomes the power to suppress good writing.
There is a reason why God began, and based, his end-time work in the country on earth where freedom of the press is greatest — and why God’s Church has grown the most, as a rule, in countries where press freedom is substantial. Since the spreading of God’s Word is the most important activity on earth — the preservation of freedom of the press is one of the most awesome responsibilities God lays on human government. The Philadelphia portion of the Church of God did begin in the USA and its most faithful remnant is still based out of the USA.
But now, in the USA and especially outside of it, we are seeing more and more calls for restrictions and censorship.
We are getting closer to the time of Amos 8:11-12 being fulfilled. More and more are starting to see that there are plans to censor speech from the internet.
That is part of why we in the Continuing Church of God are preparing for the ‘short work’ (Romans 9:28) and the coming ‘famine of the word.’
Consider, however, that Jesus said:
4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. (John 9:4)
We in the Continuing Church of God are doing the work we can now, while realizing that the night is coming when no one can work.
Yes, we still can reach people now–and that is why we are also trying out smaller alternatives to Big Tech–even though some have problems with them.
While we can use alternatives to some of Big Tech, these are only temporary as we are getting closer to the prophesied time of the famine of the word (Amos 8:11-12)–and that will also render the alternatives essentially useless.
Philadelphian Christians want to respond to the doors that Christ opens to proclaim the gospel (2 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 16:8-9; Colossians 4:2-4) and do the work. We are standing up for the truth and going through available doors despite realizing that the ‘famine of the word’ that the prophet Amos referred to is coming. We must do the work and persevere to the end.
Many in and out of the government are watching the internet and have plans to deal with more materials that they some day hope to silence. And yes, we know that there will be massive government persecution (cf. Daniel 7:25; see also Persecutions by Church and State).
Yet, there is good news as the Kingdom of God will come and replace the Babylonian (Revelation 13:16-18) system that we see being put together today.
Yet, have no doubts, the type of European totalitarian Beast society that the Bible warned about for the end times is truly taking shape.
Denmark’s decision is simply a small step consistent with that.
